Adamant Fortress ~ Western Approach
hello sorry forgive me for the emptiness. iâve been on a brief hiatus trying to get things back in order. i can be found on my other rp blog, in which i am willing to give to people, just send me an im and iâll throw it your way-- iâd rather just keep it a bit private for certain reasons.
other than that, my appearance here will be scarce, but iâll be here the best i can. if you want to drop threads, please let me know so i know. no harm no foul. <3333

âYou look like you ate another dragon liver or⌠something.â
â Unsure of what you mean. Iâve never had a dragonâs liver. â
pap a sqwat we gonâ talk today.
I do not think Wardens age faster than normal after the joining. I say this because after ten years Alistair should have been a stone cold silver fox and Stroud should have literally been on his last leg.
I do believe that a Wardenâs organs do begin to age and decay just a bit quicker than most. With this idea, it brings reasoning of why they should die-- sorta. On the outside, those who are not treated, dying to the taint kinda hints at all of your organs failing. Veins are exposed on the skin in black, viscus lines of sickness and the skin becomes pallid, cold, and clammy.
Example: The death of recruits at the beginning of Origins. Avelineâs husband at the beginning of DA2 or how drained and sickly Felix looked in Inquisition.
Take note of how quickly it kills without aging them physically. From a guess, the taint is destroying everything internally without actually harming the outside features too much. Yet, as a warden, it may slow your aging by a couple years or more. Keeping one looking youthfulish-- this keeping in mind of how young Alistair still looks ( even if heâs only 30+ in Inquisition ) and how young Stroud looks ( with the idea that he maybe in his mid to late 50â˛s ).
However, once the Calling calls ( no pun intended ), one can physically see how sickly Wardens begin to look-- pallid skin, exhausted features, sagging skin ( probably ). But towards the end, they are aging at an aggressive speed that in the end would kill them over the Darkspawn.
Darkspawn are created from infected humans, dwarves, elves, and qunari, but has one really thought about the wardens that donât have the chance to die? They are still alive in there, somewhere, decrepit and decaying through the tunnels of the deep roads because one side killed the rest of them.
--
This also brings the point that I also believe that if ( and thatâs a mighty strong if ) the Hero and Pavus end up working together-- especially with Alexius, if still alive-- a cure is made at the end of Inquisition as a whole. With the pseudo cure given to Felix to keep him alive well past his due date with death, and what the Hero has acquired, being a warden at that point is not a death sentence-- itâs a celebration on the life they thought they lost.
"I'm somehow stuck between a bickering Templar and mage... do you have any wine?"
â In some weird, bizarre way, it sounds like youâve met my family. Also no. I have cider...? â
A hum sounded between closed lips, his hand falling against his hip, and fingers drummed to a song that harbored no true words or melody. Rather it was a song of experience from an exiled sellsword, who turned his gaze elsewhere as he thought over an answer. It was the briefest moment of silence before his forest gaze fell back to the other man, a light smile gracing his lips. âWhen weâre wanted.â There were times when there was nothing more they could give than coin and a meal, other times where Asher could speak to contacts about proper housing, and times when his help was not wanted.
âIt usually depends on where we are. Iâve got friends and contacts here, but not any there. Makes it a fucking difficult without the friends and contacts.â He gave a roll of his shoulders, âI do the best I can, when weâre wanted.â
It is then that he stopped talking, his gaze traveling along the others form. Asher could talk a lot, he did talk quite a lot. âEnough about me. Iâve learned nothing about you, besides how handsome you are and your trouble with understanding.â A chuckle left his lips, jesting to the early confusion, and a grin tugged away the smile. âTell me anything.â
That certainly caught his attention fully. Handsome? Such a word brought rumpled his brow and placed hands on his hips. Out of their conversation, he surely did believe the man was rightfully sober, yet here he stood spouting words as if they spent the morning doing nothing but drinking. Eien couldnât catch why such a comment had been wistfully thrown into the mix as if it were just another day and another conversation.
Instead, he makes a note of it, keeping his commentary to himself with a slow, passing glance to meet the other manâs gaze. Once mixed focused, the warden had to think to himself for a moment. A request so vague it left jumbles of words bouncing where he had no idea where to begin.
â Me? Why me? I donât know where to start, friend. Iâ â a simple shrug. Why not request it himself? A silent plea for a better question all while attempting to figure something out.

âOh, lookâa dragon. What a perfect way to ruin our day.â
forget? he never forgets. he doesnât forget the ghosts in his lungs or the skeletons in his closet. he doesnât forget when he wakes up screaming and he never forgets as he falls to his bloody knees finished to the bone. donât ask him if he forgets because he never forgets. heâll never forget this.

âchell, where have you been?â
oh you know. working. slightly dead. trying to plot out another novel idea that might crash and burn. the usual.
...and i have another warden meta in the works. so thereâs that.
+ @procellacor
â I donât mean that in a rude way, Inquisitor... I just donât understand the interest and severe Elven damnation if you kill a halla. Itâs like if people got mad for killing a deer-- people need to eat. Or is that a different topic? â
Is he ignorant about elves? Absolutely. Does he wish to know more? Not entirely. Simply confused over the offended looks given with a little joke... or so he thought it was.
