Continue to strengthen my good work and learn new knowledge to supplement my weak part

I recognized my journey, because in this term I pay much attention to my work

I improve my skills in InDesign and Illustrator, finding some useful information on website and trying use them

I responded all the brief and checked all the work before my deadlines

Word of the Week

FUTURE

I think🤔 the future is a far distant thing. I think no one can decide future, because a lot will change over time. As I’m also a person who write letters to myself, I have the habits of collecting stamps, so today I’ll write a letter to my future self🥰.

Dear Ronnie:

This is a letter from you before. I wish you can be the person you want to be (maybe a designer or a florist) as long as you like. I hope you can meet like-minded friends. Life is long and no one knows what will happen. No one can decide his own life. But keep learning. Don't forget the original intention, serious, hard to do everything. Trust that you will be recognized if you put in the effort. Don't be afraid to fail if you don't try, no one knows the result. Stick to what you believe in. 🌼

We’re doing catalogue in this semester, so I collect catalogues for research. Research the folds and layout.

If only I could go back in time...

Actually I don’t have much time I want to go back. If I had to say one, I would probably want to go back my childhood (like 7 years old). I have been grew up with my grandmother👵🏻 a lot since I was a child. Because my parents are busy with their work and seldom take care of me, It’s my grandmother who accompanies me to grow up and influence me a lot😚. The story Madame White Snake I chose for my exhibition because my grandmother told me since I was a child. This folklore means a lot to me. Besides, my grandmother is a kind woman. I remember when I was a child she loved to tell me a lot of stories, told me to be kind and helpful people. She is the most important people for me. If I have a chance to go back, I will be a little more sensible, helping her with the housework and enjoying the time with her.

Add+Vantage module: Italian🧐

This semester’s hard day: Italian test😱!

My add+ vantage course started in the second semester. To be honest, I originally wanted to take a course related to art🖼, but when I opened the course selection column, I found that all the courses I wanted to take were gone, so I payed👀 attention to the second language (but for me is third language). I found that I didn’t have many languages to choose and I couldn’t choose my first language, Mandarin. So I chose the Italian. I don’t think the language is too difficult and I like Italy (we only have one class a week).

As I though, the first half of the semester was about basic knowledge, which I learned easily, I passed the first exam. But in the second half of semester, the difficulty of our study went up immediately. Luckily, the content of second exam is relatively, only two units. So the week before the test I spent an hour a day every day reading Italian📖 and seeing the notes 📝. Fortunately, I passed second exam. Although my knowledge of Italian isn’t deep, at least I have learned basic usage and expressions.

✍🏻Making Code💻

Basically from the end of my journey, I started writing my code for my exhibition webpage. Actually these code made a mess of my life. Because sometimes when you type some codes that doesn’t actually make any difference to you Google webpage. I was really made me nervous😩 breakdown when I first started doing my webpage. I don’t know why I had to learn these useless things (especially because it was really like Mathematics), and it was just as useless as Maths. However, in order to learn how to make my website, I still have to learn it carefully.

✨Stages of development 😎

First of all, Paula sent us an email before this term started, telling us we’ll use code in this semester. So I’ve learned some basic knowledge on the codecademy which in Paula’s email📧. At first I thought it was easy to learn but then after half of this term I was too difficult to learn, I was a little bit worried and sometimes Pete got confused🤷🏻‍♂️ in class. I don’t think I can give up because my classmates didn’t give up either. After if I have some troubles, I asked my friends or teammates for help or I’ll find the code in w3school in which is a website you can find all basic code. Although I think my webpage isn’t very good, I think it’s fine for me. Because I’m not good at using software especially in a short time. I think never give up on anything, once you get past the hard stuff you’ll find the good parts of it (like I studying the code. I think it was very boring and easy at first, then I met some troubles but never give up, and now I find it interesting. Because I know we can do a lot of interesting layout using code).

🙃Upside Down House🏠

When we were on our way back to hotel🏨 in Bournemouth, we found a fantastic house because it was upside down. We’re drawn attention to it, we bought tickects and went in. As we image, all the facilities in the house are upside down. The vertigo wasn’t quite there when we first went in. But when we got to the second floor it suddenly felt like the world🌎 was a different place than you thought💭. And I just realized that this’s actually the first floor of a normal house. I really think🤔 this effect of this house is really great and indeed from another point of view the real object will have such a big difference.

😋Chinese Restaurant☺️

We went through the graffitis and found a Chinese Restaurant. We missed Chinese food🥘 so much that we ate it. But what surprised🤩 me most was the tableware which has Chinese style. The most interesting thing is the box which is used for paying the bill. This box use traditional Chinese color RED🔴 with dragon🐉 and phoenix. The inside of the box is also very interesting with some truth and idioms story illustrations. I suddenly understand the importance of unity. If things are unified then there is a big powerful💥 sense when we pur them together.

😎Rethink✨

This semester we need to think about exhibition. And the same time we should do all things to maintain a certain unity. I had always felt that unity wasn’t so important. Because I did these pieces of work separately and I didn’t put them together. At last, I know the importance of unity, so I change my work a lot. Not only use same color but also same graphic elements.

Bournemouth’s graffiti discovery😋

When I arrived to Bournemouth I still found graffiti art everywhere. I think this art deserves recognition.

✨Transitions😆

We think we have gone that far destination. If we only stay two days in Wool (p.s. Wool only have one scenic spot), it’s not worth. So we decided to go to Bournemouth. The morning we’ll leaving Wool, we got up early and went to see the sunrise🌄 🌅.

🥾Climbing Mountains⛰

Next day, we went to look for the place we wanted to see Durdle Door. Because we lived In Lulworth Cove, we need to climb over two mountains to get there. The map🗺 says we only have to spend 45 minutes’ walk, but that’s wasn’t, we climbed the mountains for almost 2 hours’. But the scenery kept us going and finally saw the beautiful Durdle Door. It’s good to learn not to give up, you’ll find the best thing behind all the difficulties.

✨Beautiful Paintings🎨

I found some interesting decorative paintings🖼 in our homestay. Not only normal color paintings but also printmakings that I rarely see. When I saw these I was so excited😆, I like this kind of clear paintings very much. I hope in next semester I can try some printmaking as more forms as possible.

🗺Travel🔜Wool🥳

It’s the second travel in this semester because it’s the Easter🐣 holiday. Alice and I decided to go to the southern part which will be warmer than in Coventry. On the way, we still saw the little house🏠, but finally we reached the destination after 5 hours’ train and saw the sea🌊.

Sometimes after free time I likes to draw a small and quick sketch. I personally prefer to draw this kind of drawing. This kind of painting can help me relax and express my feelings🥰 without thinking too much.
