Thank you for the tag @allfrogsmatter! This is almost a month late but better late than never, yeah? 🤪
1. Origins of your blog's name:
It's just a play on the term "sims whimsy". The silly little in-game moments that you can either laugh at or get frustrated by. One of the things I loved as a kid was how zany the sims games are. While sometimes during posing / storytelling sessions I find myself getting frustrated by some of the goofy shit the sims do, it's still one of my favorite things about the game, even if the older games do it better (like most things).
2. My "I'll always order this food":
Breakfast burrito! My husband and I have a few breakfast spots around town and even though I try so hard to try new things, I always find myself craving a scrambled egg & ham burrito with spicy salsa.
Probably this one 🤪 or the tulip 🌷(can you tell I'm trying to manifest an early spring through my emoji usage?)
4. Current comfort movie, show, book:
My comfort movies are definitely Little Women, and The Secret Garden. Both were films I'd watch with my Noni when I was a little kid and they remind me of her. Though, I'm more fond of the 2019 Little Women now and she was never able to watch it, I'd like to think she'd enjoy it all the same.
My comfort shows are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and X-Files. I've watched both so many times, they kinda just go on in the background unless I'm doing a start-to-finish watch through (which, secretly, I've never actually watched X-Files to the end buuut 🤫)
I don't really know if I have a comfort book. As a kid, I really enjoyed this book called Ruby Holler about a set of twins, Dallas and Florida, that get adopted by an elderly couple. I don't actually remember much of the plot except that the girl, Florida, is sort of stand-offish but ends up loving the old man very much. I think it must've reminded me of myself at that age or something. I should honestly find it again and reread it since I've been reading so much more now.
Oh jeez...this is so embarrassing but You Are My Baby by Kimya Dawson. My baby is able to hear external sounds now and I've read that the music you expose them to while they're still in utero can soothe them once they're born. So I'm trying to find some kid-friendly music that isn't Disney or super overstimulating. It's a really sweet song and I love Kimya Dawson a lot so I've been playing it for my tummy every morning the last couple weeks lol.
6. My current hyperfixation:
This is wild but tbh, nothing really comes to mind! I've been so tired lately, I've kinda been autopilot. I've been watching a lot of My Name is Earl if that counts? Lmaoooo
7. Oddly specific things that brings me joy:
Finally having some warmer weather and getting to open the windows during the day! The air was getting so stale in my apartment this winter especially. It's been so nice to breathe some fresh air and spend time in the sun!
8. What smell makes me happy:
Vanilla, lavander, amaretto and leather!
9. Something I did as a kid and still do:
Spend lots of time alone! I feel a little crazy if I don't have a couple hours to myself in the morning especially. Also, keeping a journal, though I've been slacking writing in it everyday lately.
10. Phone wallpaper right now:
This photo of my husband and I from our wedding day! 💗
11. Are you an early bird or a night owl:
Early bird; I'm like a grandma and it's basically imposssible for me to stay up late now. I just love watching the sunrise from my second floor apartment, especially these last few days, there's been frosty dew on the grass so it's been sparkling and the birds are slowly coming back which makes my cat really happy.
12. If you work, what is your profession and do you like it:
I work in a kitchen. It's definitely not my plan long-term and while it's not the worst job I've ever had, I don't really like it, no. It makes it hard to enjoy being in my own kitchen when I'm at home since I've just spent all night in one. It's also really hard on my feet and back, and I've been getting pretty sore and burnt-out from it 🙃 I have a couple more months and then I'll be leaving to be a stay-at-home-mom, which I'm really looking forward to.
I'm so late getting to this so I don't really know who's all been tagged already. But I will tag my sweethearts @silverseaming, @antiquatedplumbobs, @aheathen-conceivably and @lacedinsims. As always, feel free to ignore if you've already done this or say I tagged you if you want to give it a go!
