Mermaid theory: Okay so when people drown they don’t die their body turns the carbon dioxide into oxygen and the carbon binds their legs together making them a mermaid. When they become a mermaid they have to sign an agreement to say no interaction with the outside world if they refuse or sign it and do interact with someone then they will die. So that is how mermaids are made and why we dont know about them
