Honestly, probably the best social tip I could ever give you guys is literally just ask. Need to make a doctor's appointment but don't know how? Call the doctor's office and ask. Don't know the meaning of what someone said? Ask them. Don't understand the instructions you were given? Ask them to repeat or clarify. This has literally never failed me, no one's gotten angry, no one's refused to answer.

Even in situations where you think it might not work, I once accidentally missed a deadline to accept a job offer, so I called and asked if they could reset it and they did. Just today I called a doctor and asked how to schedule an appointment, the lady told me how, and then I did it. Didn't know if someone was being sarcastic or not, so I asked and they told me. Just ask.

danny unconsciously mimicking stuff vlad does it probably one of my favorite head canons ever. he's trying to be intimidating so his vocabulary suddenly switches to that of an old timey vampire. his laugh starts sounding more like a supervillain cackle when he gets something he wants. he starts getting worked up in the same way vlad does, switching from his usually kind of sarcastic/laid back way of speaking to dramatically passionate when he's angry or excited about something. neither of them notice this but the people around them do and are choosing not to comment on it.

i do think danny has a tendency to be oblivious but i also think he actively chooses to be oblivious most of the time.

in dannys mind the portal accident was Not That Bad. what do you mean he died? he's literally fine and right here. nothing happened it was just weird and then he got cool ghost powers.

danny knows that he cant just abandon his friends to deal with the aftermath of a fight, that it makes him inconsiderate, but he's already so weighed down with fighting ghosts in the first place and he knows that sam and tucker will deal with it so he just.... disappears after the fight is over. he pretends not to notice his friends frustration. sorry guys, he'll try to do better next time.

his parents are trying to kill him but it's really not that big of a deal. vlad's obsession with him isn't that creepy he's just a sad lonely old man. he knows that the situations he ends up in are deadly and terrifying and traumatizing, but it's it so much easier to pretend that they're not? that he can laugh his way through with sarcasm and corny jokes and brute force? repression has worked out for him so far, so why bother changing his strategy? he can just keep choosing to be oblivious so that he doesn't have to face reality.
