Where: St. Mungo’s
When: Day after the Blackwood Dinner Party
Since the events of the Christmas Dinner party last night, Callum had been locked away in his room, partly because he’d been with Georgina and partly because he hadn’t been brave enough to come face to face with his dad. On waking up this morning, and seeing himself in the mirror, he realised he couldn’t go into work with the bruises and cuts that had worsened over night. So, instead of following his usual route to the Ministry, he took a detour to St. Mungo’s, where he was quickly directed to a private room- the perks of being a respected member of the Ministry- where he sat waiting for a healer.
He was sat waiting for much longer than he thought, he was hoping that he’d have been able to pretend he’d been busy with errands to his Dad, but he knew now that it would be impossible to convince him of that, seen as he was so late.
Finally, the door opened, “This is ridiculous, I’ve been waiting for-” Callum cut himself off, because stood before him was Wade. “Absolutely not, I want another healer, and I want them now.”
It was the holidays and of course there were a few related holiday incident. It barely affected Wade’s schedule as the only plans he had was Christmas morning with Susan and going to see his brother at some point. It made his flexibility at the hospital better and he had made sure to be on the floor as much as he could. Lately, it had been a goal of his to show up and make up for the time he had been gone, especially if he wanted a promotion at some point. After the holiday party at Blackwood’s, he had felt bruised and scrapped over in some places but it was no worse than Callum. He had been able to get away without much damage.
Wade opened the door ready to apologize to the patient stopped when he saw who the patient was. He closed the door and cursed under his breath, thinking that this was an irony or some metaphor he should be paying attention to.
“It’s the holidays, Blackwoods. We are already busy, it will be another hour or so before you get someone else,” Wade replied, rolling his yes. “What are you here for?”
