“ I’m just being realistic here. “ He huffs, lips thinning at the weak insult. Sure he’d love it if his child(ren) had the charm of their mother and intelligence of their father ; grew up to be sensible and magnanimous ( unlike both parents ). But what if despite all their goodness, they didn’t like who their father was? Like what he did for a living, or that he was or used to be a manipulative ass? What if they grew up to scrutinize all his shortcomings and his past mistakes and come to hate him? What if, he was enough for Noriko but hardly enough for their children? In what should’ve been his bliss he found fear he never knew he could have. At the same time it only reflected how important this transition meant to him even if he didn’t seem to care.
“ Your bean, my melon. “ As if this even made sense ; he just didn’t want to give the joke up. Yilang made a look of mock disgust. “ No one was asking about your kinks, god, woman. “ Eyes rolling, his gaze quickly shifted away from her as he finds himself involuntarily laughing at her complacency. “ Hah… Right. At least those bimbos were normal. “ He could’ve added on with insults - called her ugly or something, but he didn’t because she was right. He had her now and that is all that matters, even if she looked like a hag he’d still come home. “ Keep dreaming, Nori. I’m not ready to tie myself down to an abusive wife. ” But someday you will, Yilang, someday.
“ You’re just being overly sensitive. “ He will never see himself as the one at fault. There was a brief but soft jerk of surprise at how clingy Nori quickly became, literally giving him no escape from her grasp. It was fine though as he found comfort in this - to hold her like she was his or vice versa - even if he wouldn’t admit to liking it. If anything betrayed their nemesis-like behavior towards each other it was their actions. Lithe fingers unconsciously brushes against her hair, tucking loose strands behind her ear. “ I’lll get you something for the morning sickness tomorrow. I read that mint helps. “
“Yeah, realistically stupid.” Nori, even though quite emotional, had not lost her evil tongue. It would always exist - especially when it came to dealing with Yilang. Nori, unlike Yilang, had no worries. She was extremely happy to be having a child(ren). She couldn’t wait. She wanted to know them, she wanted to raise them and she wanted to protect them. If something were to happen to Yilang or their child(ren) -- she would undoubtedly die this go around. She wouldn’t be able to handle the loss. It would completely destroy whatever she had left.
What Yilang was feeling was normal? but Nori couldn’t comfort him until he came clean (as if he would). “At least you’re claiming them so -- I’ll let it slide.” Nori chuckles. “So? Since when did someone have to ask for me to spill?” She rolls her eyes. “Yeah, normal for bimbos. I can’t believe you just slept around.” Actually, she could but she didn’t like to think about it. What did those women see? Did they see something she hadn’t? It bothered her immensely. Was he gentle with those women? He didn’t have to be drunk to sleep with them. “And, I’m not ready to tie myself down to a grown man who still sports a bowl cut.” Yes, she was.
“Am not.” Are too. Nori was so glad that he hadn’t rejected her, hadn’t pushed her away. She needed him but coming out and just saying it just wasn’t her thing. Actions would always speak louder than words. They could say I HATE YOU all day but in the end it fell on deaf ears. There was no hate here, never had been. Perhaps - Nori had always loved Yilang. That cute boy who had fawned over her while she had been pregnant the first time. What happened to that boy? What happened to her? What happened to them. Nori felt tears burn behind her eyes.
However, that gentle unconscious touch to move her hair seemed to soothe her. “Mint icecream?” Keep dreaming, Noriko. “But, okay, that sounds good.” She pauses for a moment before stubbornly mumbling a low; “Thank you.” Pigs must be flying. Nori’s grey eyes find Yilang’s face, she raises a hand to also brush his hair from his face. She wanted to see his stupidly good looking face. Who gave him permission to be good looking? She hadn’t. “Yilang, can I have a kiss?” I’m lonely.
