Adagio for Strings, Op. 11
Anaïs Nin, The Diary of Anaïs Nin, Vol. IV: 1944-1947
I want to know your every bone.
I want to live inside your cranial walls.
I want to fit inside your ribcage.
I want to be your grave.
Let me be the earth that cradles your body.
Let me be the chanting that tie you to life.
Let me be your religion, your very faith.
Let me be the lack of air in your lungs.
I wish I was death.
So your last claiming would be mine.
I wish I were nothing more than adequate.
You wake me up and my first reaction is to press myself against you like a starving thing. To tilt my hips on yours and let you know wordlessly what I want. What I need. My skin is soft and warm from sleep but I'm burning inside, smoldering. You hug me from behind, breathing that way I like to hear, and find me wet and ready, eager, exasperated. I'm sparking, I'm powder and I'm begging for you to be a match. Then you're inside and everything feels right. Then you start moving and my mind goes point blank. I move too, and we can hear our breaths. You press your weight on me, letting me absorb the impact, burying me in the bedsheets but not stopping. Don't you dare stop.
I am the fucking angry man in my house
Cause I am no daddy's princess
I can put on my dress, my darn tiara
And still look like a wolf
Too much teeth, too sharp claws, too deep rage
Swirling inside this cage I dare call my heart
Now I'm crawling, I'm bawling, I'm howling
Looking for you in the woods
Trying to look like something you'd love
Tearing pink dresses, breaking pretty little crowns
In an desperate attempt to fit them on me
But a wolf in princess's clothes is still a beast
A beast you'd hunt,
A beast you'd hurt,
A beast you wouldn't want.
I wonder if the death of an author implies that all the dreams of their characters die as well.
