My Tumblr page is mostly Marvel but I'm a connoisseur of many fandoms. So over the past two weeks or so I’ve binged a hefty handful of anime. Mostly silly little BL or romance things.

Now I forgot what an absolute heartbreaker Given is. The last time I watched it I think I was about 13. And because I have a brain like a sieve a good chunk of the story exited my brain. So when i watched the series I bawled them because I like to torture myself I watched all of the movies right after that while making my portfolio for an interview.

Now if that wasn’t enough torture in itself I also decided to top it off with a BANANA FISH rewatch. I love banana fish. But watching that and Given in near enough single sitting was depressing.

To cheer myself up I did end up rewatching Buddy Daddies and a few episodes of Go for It, Nakamura!

Is the Hawkeye hate genuine?

I personally love hawkeye. Not so much the movie adaptation of him but I feel that's down to the screen time and lack of development he gets but either way he's still one of my fav characters.

I LOVE comic book Hawkeye.

I feel I just like superheroes and such who are quite literally just your average joe with a hobby that they got insanely good at.

But I wanna know what makes people dislike him so much.

Can we please talk about the criminal underuse of Pre-serum post-war Stucky?

I read this absolutely disgustingly beautiful piece of work on AO3. It was Post-war. Pre-serum. Era correct. Chefs kiss. I loved it.

It was basically a what if fic really but i need more of that AU stat. Like Steve didn't get the serum he had to stay behind in Brooklyn when his bff was fighting in the war. Hydra we don't know her. Just genuine stuff.

I want that.

I want Steve waiting at the dock with Bucky's family. I want him watching the soldiers come home on the boat like the Operation Magic Carpet - research this it’s history. I want the hiding the gay away in alleys and home and Bucky coming back without his arm from a blast or some war type injury. I want that.

Please tell me I’m not the only one absolutely obsessed with this idea.

Let’s talk Fanfiction…

Ive read my fair amount Ive written my fair amount. A couple people on here have probably read my Wattpad fic which I hate to my very core but life's too short to keep it in the drafts forever.

Now I was there for the Wattpad that contained zero ads at one point, coins not a thing, and published books on there not seen. The fic on there were the most unhinged stories I had ever read and mine were no different because my writing was… something.

One site I don't see many people talking about is the weird cousin of the fanfiction network - Fanfiction.net. Man was that site the most confusing thing I had ever touched ever. It’s literally one of those sites you have to be desperate to read fic on. AO3 down? Wattpad not working? Let me just reach into the depths of the internet and dust off an ancient relic.

AO3 on the other hand. Put a crown on it I say. I still can't really work my way around the site and I find it really hard to find the exact thing I'm looking for but it's such a good site to use. I don't really understand how to publish stuff on there without it looking super odd so Kudos to those who have figured it out and are successfully posting on there - you keep me entertained and I'm massively grateful for your abilities.

Anyway, back to the main thing I wanted to talk about. The Curse.

Every note on every fic I have ever read the author has been going through the most life altering situations ever in existence. Like “Hey guys sorry for the late update but I had a piano fall from the 5th floor of my apartment building and flatten my grandpa. Anyway, enjoy reading the smuttiest thing ever in existance.”.

I'm pretty sure that when I was religiously posting fanfiction I was sick almost every other week and then I ended up bed ridden for like 4 weeks with the worst fever ever in my life.

So if you're thinking of writing fanfiction beware of The Curse because it seems like a genuine honest to God thing. And Godspeed to those who already do you Warriors.

I'm not sure if this post would warrant a spoiler warning, seeming as the movie has been out a while but ill put one anyway just in case newcomers haven't seen it yet. So SPOILER WARNING - AVENGERS ENDGAME TALK.

Now thats out the way lets talk Avengers Endgame.

I saw this movie in the cinema when it came out and balled my little 13 year old heart out wearing my spiderman jacket, captain america shirt and marvel cap like many did that same day.

With that little personal fact out of the way - I wanted to talk about the ending. No no Tony Stark fans, not that bit of the film put the tissues away. I want to talk about the Steve going back to Peggy thing.

Now i see where people come from with the whole why would he do that he literally just got bucky back yaddy yadda. But I really wanna rip it apart, give both sides of the story and hopefully hear from some other people their standing on the matter.

So we've got the - He left bucky, the films were literally just him chasing after bucky trying to get him back and then he just dips and goes and marries a woman who already lived an entire life. And then you've got the - He was pinning for her way back in the 40s, he literally made plans to dance with her whilst crashing that plane and he got the ending he deserved.

My overall opinion… I don't really care all that much.

This guy, Mr StarSpangled Man with a plan, spent the past THREE Captain America movies basically fighting for Mr James B Barnes. Now, the films I wouldn't say are based solely around their relationship because they're not. At least not The First Avenger anyway - that's what I feel like anyway. He grew up with Bucky, his best friend who looked after him by the looks of it and made sure he was alright when his mother passed and was basically his only friend who wanted nothing more than to make sure he was safe. Now these roles do reverse when he gets the serum and then saves Bucky and the 107th in that Hydra base but I don't wanna dive too far into that in this post.

So Steve spends years pretty much searching for his best friend, saving him, losing him, finding him again, saving him again, going against the government for him, getting arrested, ruining friendships and then fighting alongside him just to end that with the whole - don't do anything stupid until I get back speech in reverse.

Now I get it. He loved Peggy, the one woman who didn't look at him like he was some freak. Who genuinely seemed to like him before the serum you know in his skinny sickly body. So when he saw Peggy after all that time after defrosting after being thrust into the grasp of the technological era he snatched that up and used it to live the life he wanted. Tell me if you were presented with a way to get back to your original timeline and dance with the woman you love and make a whole life out of that would you?

But then there's the fact that he sat with her and spoke to her about her family and the life she had before she died and when he went back that good life she lived was torn away and she didn't get to live that. Although there is the argument that by him going back he made an alternate timeline but the whole timeline thing in the MCU is confusing as all hell.

I honestly understand both POVs. Again I genuinely don't mind it. I still sobbed at watching the two dance with each other. Hopefully this rambled nonsense made any logical sense at all.

This is just how I’ve interpreted it though, and I’m genuinely interested in hearing other perspectives because I can see valid arguments on both sides.

What's your opinions on this whole thing?

So I love the Stucky ship about as much as the next person but I think some people really need to understand the differences between MCU Stucky and comic book Stucky. I only say this because ive seen on edits of comic book interactions between Steve and Bucky saying some of the strangest things as if their comic relationship isn't platonic like father and son.

And technically canonical Steve and Bucky ( films ) their relationship is also platonic like BFFs. But that's besides the point.

In the earlier comic iterations Bucky is like a full fledged teenager. While Steve is a man. A big buff supersoldier bloke in the army. I'm only going off of what I've found in research because ive read all of one comic with the pair in - that being The Winter Soldier one. I also predominantly consume MCU related stuff. But anyways shipping the comic book pair isn't something I really vibe with.

But I’m aware that not many people are aware of said fact because films are popular and most media now is from those movies and shows.

You can’t really just flatten every adaptation into one singular version of the relationship because the context changes so much between mediums. Different timelines, different ages, different dynamics, different narrative intentions.

So in my personal opinion if you're going to ship characters please make yourself aware that the media may differ from Movie to Comic/Book etc etc.

This isn’t intended as criticism towards anyone, more just a little note for people who might not know the source material differs so heavily depending on which version you’re looking at. I'm also not heavily educated in the comics myself so I'll take my advice aswell.

Any facts and info others know please drop them in the comments. Educate me (ill try and reply as best I can I'm a little tone deaf when it comes to messages) and maybe some others. 😊

How does this thing work?

Hey, I basically made this account because I have too much to talk about and no one to dump it on. Thing is, I have no idea how to use Tumblr and feel like my nan trying to navigate Facebook for the first time.
