Hand Harvesting Black Raspberries

Oops I totally forgot to post this. Black raspberry season was like 2.5 months ago. Picking the best berries can be trickier than you think. Other than the thorns, sunny outdoor lighting can make it very difficult to see a truly sweet and dark berry versus a berry that is actually dark red but still needs a bit more time to ripen. Oh and the bigger race against time is picking the berries before the spotted wing drosophila can get to them! (It’s a fly that infests fruit early during the ripening stage as oppose to other fly species that targets only rotting fruit.)
