Your first thought about skin creatures might be all wrinkles and jiggly bits, but what is skin anyways?

For vertebrate animals like us and skinzun, the skin is a flexible integumentary system that protects our squishy insides, keeping them safe and moist. However, more generally, many invertebrates also have a protective cuticle, such as the exoskeleton of arthropods or the tegument of flatworms.

In the name of taxonomical and anatomical variety, and just because I can, this illustration is full of weird stuff. Plenty of details to get under your skin 🫶

It has been an absolute blast to be a part of this project for @svssskinzine, and I hope you're all as thrilled as I am (maybe a little bit terrified?) to see it take physical form.
