the people yearn for catschach
AU where Bubastis reforms a few weeks after being separated from her intrinsic field but she doesn't know anything is different so she's functionally the same cat except blue and immortal and a god. Bluebastis
The dynamic between Rorschach and Walter Kovacs is usually dumbed down to Rorschach being the stronger, smarter one and Walter being the pathetic one that was used to disguise him. But it’s not that. Even Rorschach himself doesn’t have a grasp on this dynamic in the novel, and just assumes that Rorschach had killed Walter. In reality, Walter was just hiding behind him because he was afraid.
It’s not uncommon for children who grow up abused to want some superhero to get rid of all the evil in the world and make everybody live in peace and happiness. This childish idea is quite literally what he lives on. The black and white idea where all evil must be eradicated and all good must be rewarded. The black and white moral spectrum that his character is based off of is the moral spectrum of a child. This is because “Walter Kovacs” isn’t anything more than a scared, angry child who uses Rorschach as an excuse not to grow up.
Rorschach is meant to be his superhero, the one who faces every scary situation and every question that Walter can’t seem to answer, which is why when he’s afraid or angry, he turns to Rorschach instead. Walter is the one who expresses emotion because he’s the kid who’s hiding behind Rorschach for protection.
