Hello! Welcome to my blog!

My name is Richard Harkness, and I live in Room 49 of what I dub, "Walker Hall" at Bachman University.  I’m a first-year student currently studying Digital Media Production, and as an incoming student, I have taken the reins in documenting student life in my hall. 

Anyways, my reasons for making this:

Walker Hall’s residents are all first years, so most of us are still in that awkward phase where nobody knows each other. So I’ll introduce myself to people, interview them… and hopefully make new friends!

(It’ll also serve as a major part of my art portfolio)

During move-in week, I’ll get to conversing with the others on my floor and will attach the other students' names, room numbers, and majors below. Hey everyone, I've got some sad news.

You may have noticed that I haven't been as active as I used to. I've not been doing too great these past few days.

A while ago, I started trying to investigate what happened between Ray and Pete that caused their breakup. I thought it would be harmless fun, but I guess I stopped thinking about the fact that these are real people and not just stories for me to document for entertainment.

Word got back to them pretty quickly.

Ray was really upset, but even worse, Pete was disappointed in me. He said he thought I'd learnt better by now. And he was right.

The other guys have kinda been avoiding me since then. It even got to the point where I tried confiding in Barkovitch, which is how you know things were getting desperate.

And yeah, I really do prioritize this blog over people's feelings and privacy. It's a truth that has been tough to admit, haha.

But looking back at my introduction, the point of this blog was to make friends. Which I have! I've connected with some amazing new people. But I've really been letting them down.

I organised interviews and stupid group outings; people trusted me enough to let me into their lives, but I kept turning everything into content instead of really appreciating it.

So, to prove that I really can be a good friend, I think it's time for me to stop this blog.

RH: Great question! Personally, I prefer action anime. Classics like Dragon Ball Z, obviously, and l like Solo leveling, though I do have my critiques.

INTERVIEWEE 1: Hank Olson and Art Baker

HO: I never had the patience to fully commit to One Piece. That shit's got like, a billion episodes.

AB: I'm at Water 7.

RH: Is it good?

AB: It's alright. HO: Art plays it in the background.

AB: Working my way through, slow and steady.

HO: I don't really watch anime? Like- I mean fuck I'll watch 'em if they're on! But I don't have a fucking crunchy roll subscription.

INTERVIEWEE 2: Gary Barkovitch

GB: I am the proud owner of a crunchy roll subscription.

RH: Oh.

GB: What? What the fuck was that reaction for?!

RH: Nothing! Keep going.

GB: I've watched One piece in full. Completely caught up with JJK and have finished the manga. Gege is a shit author.

RH: blinks

GB: I've finished Naruto, One Punch Man, Bleach, Chainsaw Man, Hunter x Hunter, Deathnote-

RH: So, you're our resident anime expert?

GB: proudly You could say that.

RH: Jesus Christ.

GB: Actually, write that down.

RH: ...That you're an anime expert?

GB: Yeah.

INTERVIEWEE 3: Peter McVries

PM: Not sure about the others, but I like romance anime. Some action, too.

RH: Examples?

PM: Apothecary diaries is a good pick. Or, Spy x Family.

RH: You don't strike me as a romance guy.

PM: smiles What's that supposed to mean?

RH: I don't know.

PM: You obviously don't know me well. Sometimes I just wanna watch people fall in love and be happy.

RH: Oh.

PM: ... Why're you looking at me like that?

RH: I dunno, man. That was sorta beautiful.

INTERVIEWEE 4: Patrick Smith

Why were the paramedics rushing to room 5? Is everything okay?

Barkovitch went to the hospital.

But on a lighter and much more interesting note, HOLY SHIT I GOT A 100 ON MY ASSIGNMENT!!!!

Cheating on hot-boy Scramm with the other boys I see? Never thought youd be a cheater Harky, smh, cant trust anyone these days 😞

First of all, I am not involved with and have never been involved with Scramm.

Second of all, I'm not "seeing other boys," I'm doing very important investigative work.

Third of all, I'm not a cheater or a homewrecker!

I thought we weren't bringing up Scramm again guys. I've closed that humiliating chapter of my life.

who has the best and worst grades in walker hall? (sorry if this has already been asked)

From what I've gathered, Hank and Pearson are apparently monsters academically. I also wouldn't be too surprised if Art was, too. I've never once heard him complain about coursework.

As for the worst, I wouldn't know, and I don't really want to ask around; I feel like that'd be rude. But let's just say Patrick isn't known for his work ethic.

I personally don't get bad grades, but I admit I have an atrocious procrastination problem. I usually end up updating this blog whenever I have work to do, haha.

Speaking of, I have a few assessments coming up, so I'll be a little slow in answering asks. I'll get to you all eventually!

Honestly, I found myself enjoying it, despite everything that went down. And the content that came out of it was great!

And no, I would not take a date ghost hunting. I wouldn't want to humiliate myself by being scared in front of a potential prospect.

Okay, rude. Art still talks to me, and so does Hank. I've also been hanging around Tressler more recently, and he hasn't tried to shake me off yet.

I'm not desperate enough for friends that I have to resort to Stebbins company just yet.

Okay, well, now that you mention it... Tressler does do this thing where he stands near me sometimes. I usually just think he's waiting for someone else... but maybe there's an underlying motive there?

And after the hospital, he asked if my ankle was feeling better.

Which, I know, sounds innocent at first, but then you start peeling back the layers. Why ask, specifically, about my ankle? There are millions of ankles in the world.

Oh my god. Guys. Wait, hold on.

He also sat beside me at lunch a few days ago. Well, every other seat at the table was taken, but still. I think you might be fucking onto something.

Oh, no, no thank you. I don't want to be the messy guy who slides in after a breakup.

Also, I'm pretty sure Pete only tolerates me because he's a good person, so I doubt he'd be into me.

What I'm more worried about, though, is Ray. The guy has a temper, and I think I'd rather be trapped in another abandoned hospital than have that directed at me.

RH: Have you two discussed names?

MW: What? No?

PS: Hmm..

Patrick has to think for a very long moment.

RH: visibly emotional After me?

MW: Ew, wait, no. We're not naming our kid Richard. Sorry Harkness...

RH: Oh.

PS: So you finally admit it's our kid.

MW: Huh? No, I-

PS: -Y'know, I think we'd make good parents. Papa Patrick and Mama Marty.

MW: I-I gotta get to class.

I wouldn't know because he refuses to talk to me! When he came back from the hospital, I tried to give him tips on how to get around campus, but he immediately shut me down.

He blames me, but it's not my fault he can't skateboard anymore. It's not like I pushed him through the hole!
