Golden is coming! I think that’s like Winter is Coming but like…happier and more in love. It was activated for radio play on September 30th, and today, Sirius XM tweeted H’s introduction to the song (“Hi, this is Harry Styles!”), and then told fans to “TWEET US WHEN YOU THIS HEAR ON AIR!!!!” (typo is theirs, not mine, for a change haha). As of press time, it has not played yet, but there is heavy speculation (on Twitter, take that as you will) that the music video might drop on October 11th (Coming Out Day), which would be a year to the day of the beginning of the Fine Line era, which began with Lights Up. The chances of Sirius XM playing it before it gets released are, like, -10, but when it’s out, I’m sure they WILL have it!
Harry himself hasn’t said anything, but, to be honest, he doesn’t have to! People are talking *about him*, that’s for sure. For one, he’s been nominated as “sexiest chart topper” (lol who WRITES THESE THINGS??) for People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” competition, so, uh. Vote for that, if you’d like, I guess. Then, Shania Twain had an interview with This Morning today, where she said that she and Harry will be doing a song together at some point (“you can count on it!”) and that it’s a “dream collaboration for sure”. It would have been more of a dream collaboration for me if she had not gone on record saying she would vote for Trump because he seems honest, but. What can you do? To note: this is not a confirmed collaboration, but more of a…tentative assurance that there might maybe be one in the future. Finally, both Fine Line the album and Watermelon Sugar are in Spotify’s Top Albums and Songs of the week. Zayn’s “Better” was also in Spotify’s weekly top songs at #49. If you didn’t know Spotify DID charts, you’re not alone! Apparently, it’s a new feature they’re rolling out, and I’m sure we’re going to see all of the guys’ names on these charts a bunch.
Liam also celebrated a milestone - Polaroid turns two today! Jonas Blue (one of the co-collaborators on the song) posted a ~polaroid~ featuring himself, Liam, and Lennon Stella (the other collaborator), where he looks cool as a cucumber and the other two are dying of laughter (this doesn’t quite have the same ring as muriendose de la risa, but. Same difference.) Liam reposted this to his Instagram story, saying “amazing memories!” And here’s to many more amazing memories - like his Halloween show: he’s going to be holding makeup and costume competitions for “BIG BIG prizes” - he’ll be contacting everyone with more details about this pre-show. He warns us “remember, I am watching everything”, so be on the lookout for that, as well as merch giveaways during the show! I was gonna do a lowkey costume but now I think I have to step up my game - its ON!!
Niall also came back on social media (if he was ever off of it lol) to thank the BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) London for awarding him a Pop Award for Nice To Meet You! It was one of the top pop songs of the year, which delights him “cuz I wrote it” along with Julian Bulian (oh, is that not his name?), and he thanked them again for the award (“and medal!”) Congrats, Niall!
And, as promised, Free My Meal is back in the (one dee) news cycle after adding Louis to their list of supporters, and quoting him on their website (“what an incredible thing to do!”). An update account then reported that they had done so (as UAs do, you know), and Free My Meal replied, saying “🌟 He’s a superstar in our eyes 🌟”. “Our’s too,” said HLDaily, and then asked if they could ALSO collaborate with the charity, which was met with a prompt, “of course!” Twitter stans then quickly took to shipping the update account and the charity, which honestly made my whole day - I have yet to come up with a ship name, but when I do, y’all will be the first to know it!
