Why is sex before marriage wrong in God’s eyes?

Great question!

Just consider for a moment what God created marriage to be, a friendship of true, pure, free and genuine love! Where you lay down your life in every way for your friend! And you give yourself to them to serve them as a fellow heir with Jesus in the kingdom of God! Love, true love is selfless and it is such a powerful thing, so powerful that when Jesus died he couldnt stay in the grave, he rose again!! Compare that to the way the world thinks ‘love’ looks like: lust, sex drive (which is selfish, it’s for you to satisfy your flesh and not to genuinly love the other person), petty romance, the way someone’s body looks, desire, temporary emotions and many have no problem cheating and going off with someone else to try and satisfy their lust. When you give yourself to someone physically you become one body with them (Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Or don’t you know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” - 1 Corinthians 6:15-16). Sex before marriage is sin and it’s always selfish. You take all the very small things around the periphery of a relationship and make it the core, you don’t value the person, you don’t take time to love them first and then make a covanent of love with them before God and then in flesh, therefore you miss out on the core and the enemy cheats out out of genuine love! With selfish relationships and sex before marriage you replace true and powerful love for mere lustful emotions.

Jesus is the only one we should hunger for, he’s the only one who can satisfy your needs, the enemy will make you think you need another person and that when the perfect person comes along all your troubles will be solved … but the truth is, unless you rely on God for everything and give him every aspect of your life, you can never enter into a relationship and love another person without getting hurt because you’ve put your needs and expectations on their shoulders.No one can satisfy your desires apart from Jesus, desires of the flesh are not of God - We can get so caught up by the idea of ‘feelings’ or ‘romance’, which secular entertainment is filled with. We have turned the purest and holiest of things between a man and a woman into the most unholy disgusting actions. Relationships have been reduced to ‘sexual desire’ which came from man’s fallen selfishness, whereas it is the most beautiful connection between a married couple, the devil has twisted and changed it in the world so much because he knows that there’s great power and intimacy within the pure nature of a covenant between two people married before God. Even in the Christian ‘lifestyle’ sexual desire has simply had christian language wrapped around it. Satan is cunning, he will manage to persuade us that sin makes sense, that it isn’t wrong and it will feel good; but sin promises something that it can never fulfil. We’re constantly surrounded by sexual immorality in this world, but as godly men and women we are called to flea from sexual immorality and everything associated with it - I think a lot of the time Christians can get their ideas about sexual immorality warped by world influences and think they’re okay just because they are not having sex - but that’s a lie, sexual immorality doesn’t just mean sex outside of marriage, it also means other sexual acts, kissing, masturbating, watching sexual films etc. You start to look like what you expose yourself to, so we must abstain from sexually immoral things or we open ourselves up to it. We must die to self and let go of these things and allow God to change us.

The pression of being a good leader weights heavy on Jinjin’s shoulders, especially when it comes to his relationship you. He’s a big romantic, but he’s fearful and wants to shield you from the netizens scrutiny. He’s also afraid of the negative consequences your relationship announcement could have on other Astro’s member careers. For now, he doesn’t plan to announce anything publicly and keeps his love for you low profile.

Verdict: Nop, he makes it clear that his priority should remain his group and members, but you understood that from the start. He’s really sweet with you and does a lot of small romantic gestures… Like he has this complicated way of hiding your name in code in “Thank you” notes at the end of every Astro’s albums. Sweet.

MJ

This cutie is so excited you reciprocate his feelings, he doesn’t notice anything else. If blinded by love was inspired by someone, it would be by the way MJ looks at you. You always hang out for dates at cafés or romantic picnics by the Han River. The boys tease him a lot about wanting to get to know you too, but he doesn’t want to share you with anyone. In no time, there’s a lot of pictures and videos online of you two laughing and being silly together.

Verdict: You don’t even have to wait to find out, fans quickly speculate you’re dating. An aroha even created a fake love Instagram in support of you two and within 3 months it reached 100k followers.

Cha Eunwoo

When you started to date Eunwoo, you knew your relationship would work on his terms since he’s busy and a bit of a control freak, you didn’t mind though. Eunwoo values honesty a lot and he plans to announce your relationship publicly when you’ll both be comfortable enough with the idea. In the meantime, you’re taking the relationship step by step, bringing a lot of your love and chaos in his overly organized life.

Verdict: Yes. Eunwoo comes up with a detailed plan of how he’s going to tell Arohas about you two. He took loads of notes and considered public reactions of other Idols dating news to make sure you both get the best reaction possible. When he does tell, his plan works perfectly well. You instantly get overwhelm with positive message and support and are dubbed the nation cutest couple.

Moonbin

You two sometimes fight about his emotional evasiveness, so you don’t even dream of asking for him to speak publicly about you. Even if Bin’s deeply committed to your relationship, it’s a bit hard for you to guess it. You only ask him to show you a little bit more of his heart so you can feel more confident, but he doesn’t get why it’s important for you to know exactly what’s on his mind. The fact that he’s often late on dates because of his nature and prefers adventurous dates to romantic dinners only cements your doubts.

Verdict: It’s only after one big fight that he realizes he needs to find a way to express his love if he wants to keep you. That’s when he goes all out. He’s not someone who likes to bare his soul, so he asks for his members’ help and plans a cute V Live where they all reenact your love story and he voices over. Sanha plays your part and he goes so extra he almost steals the show. The funny clip goes viral and that’s how you, Arohas, their pissed off manager and the world find out about Moonbin’s true feelings.

Rocky

JEEZ. You two are making everybody go craaaazy. Can’t you date already? It’s so evident to everybody around that you both like each other, yet there’s still no confession from either of you. You spend a lot of time hanging out, chilling. Rocky loves surprising you with a back hug and resting his chin on your shoulder to feel both of your heart rates accelerate together. One day, MJ and Sanha were teasing you about accidently wearing matching couple clothes and you grabbed Rocky’s hand, insisting that you didn’t mind and actually looked quite good together. They just stared at you in awe as Rocky wavered between acting fake-cocky and becoming a blushing mess.

Verdict: You two don’t even realize you’re actually, already in a relationship, forget about making it public. JUST CONFESS GODAMMIT. ASDFGHJKL

Sanha

It feels like it took him 100 years to figure out you were crushing badly on him. He even used to defend your friendship to his hyungs: “Stop it, y/n is this nice like that to everyone! I don’t know what you mean.” You had to go all out and confess first to make him realized he liked you too. After that, you became inseparable. You’re his first love and Sanha’s quite the dreamer and he brings a lot of passion in your relationship, always surprising you with cute gestures. He would want the world to know about your relationship, but neither of you ever bring it up, so it never becomes a subject of importance.

Verdict: Your 200th day anniversary happens to coincide with one of Astro’s concert. Sanha gets a bit too emotional in his speech before his solo stage and accidently confess to your relationship in front of the crowd of cheering Arohas. “This is a love song I wrote for y/n… Errr I Mean-” Jinjin has to appear panicked, half-dressed from backstage and grab the microphone to do some damage control.

You clutched the note to your chest, looking out your window to see The Just King fencing with his brother. You had been getting these sort of notes for a little over a week now. You had tried to convince yourself they weren’t from Edmund to save any potential heartbreak, but no one else in the castle (that you knew of) had his initials. 

You walked over to your dressing table slowly, the letter still in your hand. You sat down in the tall, wooden chair, and opened one of the four drawers with the brass handles. Inside, you had put a small box with your name engraved at the bottom, and as you opened it, the rusted hinges squeaked. You placed the box on your dressing table. The letter was still in your hand, and as you emptied the contents of the box, you added the newest note to the pile. 

The entire vanity was now covered in letters. Big ones and small ones, white ones and gray ones, long ones and short ones. You picked one up. It dated to 8 days prior; the first letter you had ever received. 

My dearest Y/n,

I yearn to be in your company. Every morning is a struggle without you beside me. Please, tell me you love me too, and I shall find purity in this cruel, cruel world.

You smiled as you looked over the letter. You couldn’t deny now that they were indeed from the youngest King. “You know what,” You said aloud to yourself, taking a fountain pen from the end of your dressing table, “I think I’m going to write one back. After all, it has been a week.” Now that the thought had been expressed verbally, the prospect of communicating with Edmund via pen and parchment was becoming more and more exciting. You ripped a piece off the letter that hadn’t been written on and began to scribble.

Dear “E.P.”

In case you were wondering, yes, I have been getting your little love notes. If you are who I think you are-and by that, I mean if you are in fact Edmund Pevensie-then I would like to arrange a place for us to meet. Just to talk about…this. I’ll be in the courtyard at 11 tonight if you want to come. If you do not, we never have to speak of this again.

You took a deep breath. You sealed the letter and stepped out of your chambers, heading in the direction of Edmund’s. Very quietly, so as not to be noticed by anyone, you slipped the note under his door and glided your feet back to your room. Hopefully he would meet you there.  

The birds singing had died out, and the sun was hiding behind the darkness of the evening. You had sat on the stone bench under the pear tree in the gardens to wait for Edmund. It had already been ten minutes. By now, you were beginning to doubt that Edmund was ever going to arrive. “Hey.”

 You looked over your shoulder, shocked by the voice behind you. Your face softened when you saw Edmund. “Hey.” You smiled, patting the spot next to you on the bench as an invitation to sit with you. He obliged. “So, uh-” 

“We don’t have to talk.” Edmund said hurriedly, looking at you with a gleam in his eye. You stared at him questioningly. Without pausing to explain, Edmund leaned over, cupped your cheek, and pressed his lips to yours. 

You were so taken aback that you didn’t know what was going on for a second. Slowly, you began to move your lips against his. You were careful you would break them if you kissed too fiercely. 

Edmund pulled away with a grin on his face, hand still cupping your cheek and lips an inch from yours. You breathed heavily. “Thank you for slipping those notes under my door.” You whispered. He frowned, leaning back a little. 

“Notes? I never left any notes. I only knew I had to meet you because Lucy told-” He paused, realization dawning over his features. You started to understand what was going on as well. Simultaneously, you both yelled, loud enough to wake up the whole castle,

 “LUCY!”
