Wilden Lightfoot,ย bill pullman ย โโโโโย ย a fearless man taken too soon. wilden the great, as he dubbed himself, marched to the beat of his own drum. he was bold, never took life too seriously, was a terrible dancer and an even better father. though his time was short with the latter, he loved his boys dearly. when both sons were of age he left a quest for them to go on. with a phoenix gem in hand, he would come back for one day only. he didn't need to be around to know that his sons would turn out okay. he knew they would because they had each other.
Laurel Lightfoot (nee. brown),ย ย laura dernย ย โโโโโ ย ย a mighty warrior, you're never given a playbook on how to handle grief. how life can change in the blink of an eye but laurel has always handled the changing tides with grace. hardworking and devoted, laurel throws herself wholeheartedly into any situation. she worked hard as a single mother to provide for her two boys. she did her best to play both roles as parents. it wasn't easy, there were moments she questioned herself, but in the end she had given it her all to make sure her boys had everything they could need. fiercely over protective, she's not afraid to go on a wild adventure or use her skills to handle problems.
Barley Lightfoot,ย ย lewis pullmanย ย ย โโโโโ ย ย the eldest lightfoot son, barley of awesomeshire. once in his life he let fear take over which cost him saying goodbye to his father. after that day, barley vowed never to be scared again. barley lives in the past rather than the present. he knows that magic still breathes beneath the land, he only wished others could see it too. the past seems easier as well given it's the only place he doesn't feel judged, placed as a disappointment for not living up to expectations. his wants and needs always came last trying to play both older brother and father to ian. it wasn't easy, it wasn't asked of him but that's what brothers do - they carry one another. there isn't anything special about him. no powers or magic. only a wild imagination and a heart's fire that refuses to burn out. he isn't the hero in this story that's being written. he's the mentor. it's now time he forges his own path and put barley first for once.
Ian Lightfoot,ย ย tom hollandย ย ย โโโโโ ย ย the youngest, sir iandore of lightfoot. sweet and determined with the best intentions in mind, his nervous ways and lack of confidence often trip him up. he thought the key to a better life was the missing piece he'd never known. if his dad had been around, perhaps things wouldn't have been so messy. in a world that had long forgotten magic, ian was born special. gifted with magic he thought only existed in the silly games his brother played. his hero's quest brought out the best of him. teaching him to trust himself and appreciate the worthwhile things he already had. while he didn't have a dad he did have barley. nothing was ever truly missing in his life. he had what he needed and that was enough. the road to becoming a great wizard wasn't easy but it's one ian is happy to take.
