so my copy of the longest journey is like 60 years old and has decided to split in half and start losing pages like nobody’s business less than a week before i leave for cambridge. i need this book with me when i go. so everyone pray that the gay little book sleeve i’m making for it will protect it from further harm

update!! she survived and only one more page fell out of the binding (i have all 3 loose pages none have been lost). she was very useful when i went to the archive and i also acquired a penguin edition thats a reprint of the abinger critical edition from the 80s which is awesome (the abinger editions are absurdly comprehensively edited. altho the penguin reprint is minus one appendix which included the rejected manuscript chapters—this would have been useful but i’m pretty sure my notes on them will serve my purpose)

the archivist did get a good laugh tho when she saw my copy. lol. so that’s a bonus

hihi i've seen you asked me about middlemarch and i've just now noticed that you like em forster. If you read House Howard and loved it (i did) you will absolutely love it. If you loved Little Women and especially Mary Lou Alcott you will love it

I LOVE EM FORSTER IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!!!! incredible timing too bc i’m leaving on a research trip to cambridge in a couple days to look at his manuscripts and things at kings college :] i’m doing a undergrad dissertation as well as a related research project on queerness in his “straight” novels and i’m working specifically with a room with a view which is possibly my favorite of his novels but i also adore howards end 🥰 so this is wonderful news for my george eliot adventure!!!
