Over the course of the month,

Fantasy
Sci-Fi
Action/Adventure
Modern/Slice-of-life

^We might do other genres in the future!
WIP and completed games, twine, choicescript etc. games are all welcome, so long as they are 'interactive fiction'! Do try to tag the game as (WIP), (COMPLETED) when submitting if you can, though!
Solve crimes and steal hearts in Burn the Midnight Oil, a supernatural neon-noir romance visual novel now live on Kickstarter!
Make sure to also check out our free demo (it's around 40,000 words long with plenty of characters and illustrations to discover)! Available on Steam and itch.io.
RTs are super appreciated! Even if you can't donate to the campaign, just sharing the word with your friends and followers can make a huge difference ✨
We’re 83% funded now, which means there’s less than 14,5k left to hit our goal. We are so, so close now! 🎉
The campaign ends in 34 hours!! Based on our average pledge per backer, we only need about 270 more backers and yesterday alone, we gained 133 new backers.
As long as the pledges keep coming, no matter how big or small, we have the confidence we’ll be able to meet our goal. 🤞
A wall that was never in your apartment and yet suddenly is.
And then there's the cat that neither you nor your roommate have ever seen. Never mind that you both have dozens of photos of said cat in your phone galleries.
And then an unfamiliar pair of shoes in the hallway, your size but definitely not your style. Morning glories bombarding your building's exterior, not roses. An entire coffee shop that wasn't there yesterday.
...And that's just in the first hour you've been awake.
The worst thing is that no one else realizes it's happening. Not the superintendent of your building (who claims that wall has always been there).
Not the veterinarian (who claims you bring in Freckles the Cat for annual checkups and vaccinations).
Not your parents (who never seem to call you by your name anymore...)
Not your boss (who is suddenly single and seems to think you're best friends).
And certainly not the twins fighting one another for the city's mayoral seat.

NarraScope is an event that supports interactive narrative, adventure games, and interactive fiction by bringing together writers, developers, and players. The Rosebush is happy to be an, admittedly very minor, sponsor of the Narrascope 2025 conference. From June 20 to June 22, narrative games – including interactive fiction – will be put in the spotlight in a series of workshops and talks at Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA. Although in-person attendance is sold out, it is still possible to register for online attendance! Online registration is open until June 18, 2025.
If you’re on the fence, be sure to check out the full schedule. And of course, if you’re giving a talk or workshop at the conference and would like to write up your ideas later in the form of an article; or if attending NarraScope sparks new ideas in you that other people ought to know about – you know where to send your pitches! 😉
Interact-IF’s Writing Spotlight’s first category is Best Story (Epic/Exciting)!
Epic/exciting is absolutely up to your interpretation, but a general rule of thumb? Something that gets your blood pumping, that got you engrossed and thrilled and captivated and reading till way past bedtime.
Go ahead and cast your vote in the comments or by sending @allieebobo an ask, or fill out this google form (for all the categories)! Both WIP and completed IFs are fine. Voting will close 27 April.
Check back in End Apr for the winner(s) in this category!
I've created a new commission chart for 2024. Additonal information below:
I start working on a picture as soon as we talk the details. I’ll start sketching it and once the sketch is done and you are happy with the result I’ll be waiting for the payment to finish the picture.
You can use my artwork however you want, except for commercial use.
Payment via paypal
Please tell me whether you’re going to print the commissioned drawing so I can draw it in a proper size!
Prices may vary depending on number of details and complexity of the drawing (e.g. I’ll charge additional few bucks for wings or super complicated outfits or designs)
TIME FRAME: it takes me up to week to draw the initial sketch and up to 2 weeks to finish the whole thing ≈ up to 3 weeks (unless something unexpected comes up, if it does I’ll let you know for sure)
Also I’d be grateful if you fill out this form and send it in an email: (it makes organizing things easier)
Commission Type: (shaded, waist up; etc)
Character(s): (I prefer reference pictures over a written description but it’s also fine. As long as it’s detailed enough)
Your ideas: (if you have any, like, pose, expression, color scheme etc)
Background: (for flat colored drawings only single color/gradient backgrounds apply)
Extra: (any extra accessories, complicated outfits, wings, pets, furniture idk?)
Your PayPal e-mail: (so that I know who the money is coming from!)
Please spread the word even if you’re not interested, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks
With delicate, leaf-like fins trailing from its body, the leafy sea dragon drifts gracefully through kelp forests, perfectly disguised as floating seaweed. This gentle Australian marvel relies on its exquisite camouflage to evade predators, moving with a slow, mesmerizing elegance that makes it nearly invisible in its underwater home.
Koi fish trace their lineage to the humble common carp, first domesticated in East Asia over a millennium ago. In 19th-century Japan, rice farmers began carefully breeding these carp for their rare and beautiful colorations, giving rise to the exquisite ornamental koi. Their captivating beauty and cultural significance captured global admiration after their debut at the Tokyo Taishō Exposition in 1914.
So excited to have permission to share this. @darlingnoct’s MC Riley from Infamous by @infamous-if. I’m in love with her. ♥️ Given free reign, I am pretty sure I was annoying with asking questions about the MC in an attempt to do right by her.
I've always planned for Percy to be the endgame for Aster, but at some point my friend said that they kinda find Jamie and Aster to be cute together, which gave me the idea to draw this lol
