On the Internet, there are spaces that are moderated and meant to be safe for kids, and spaces that aren’t. Nintendo has very strict content rules and adults that play games like Splatoon are expected to follow those rules. When I was 10, my Mom found a lovely Animal Crossing fan forum that was run by a dedicated team of moderators who kept all content safe for kids. These kinds of spaces are deliberately carved out to create fannish spaces that are safe for child fans where adults are welcome to participate but must follow the content rules.
Tumblr and Ao3 are not spaces like this. Adults are allowed to post what they want so long as appropriate content warnings are attached. While Tumblr desktop is open for teenagers under 18 (the mobile app is still 17+) it’s a good opportunity for them to learn how to police their own consumption of content, respect the boundaries that adults set for that content, avoid things that bother them, and start to see people in different age groups as peers rather than authority figures. Don’t like it? Go back to a forum where there are adults who are willing to filter content for you. Think their content rules are too strict? Well, learning to moderate your own fannish experience is part of growing up and handling the maturity required for having your own freedom.
I like this write-up!
having been previously accused of “exposing children to harmful content” by…….writing about my own life on my own blog lmao, I really did think that unless a corner of the internet has specific rules to make the space safe for minors, child-friendliness should not be expected or enforced.
fun fact nonbinary ppl with boobs, nonbinary ppl who like their boobs, and nonbinary ppl who want boobs are cool and valid and just as nonbinary as ppl w flat chests and deserve to have a good time all the time
please reblog this its important
Non binary does not equal vaguely masculine
Masculine is not genderless! It’s not the default!

Hey so I’ve made a new twitter account @ wamirulart so that the people who just wanna see my art can get just that and the algorithm can finally decide if i fall under the “creatives to constantly screw over” or “people who think the malaysian PM is a massive cunt” categories.
I post a lot more casual doodles there, so it’d mean a lot if you guys gave that account a follow.
PS the malaysian PM is a massive cunt

“Corviknight are an especially big species of bird Pokémon, so much so that residents of Galar use them as straight-up cabs to travel between cities. As one of the only Pokémon not born a steel-type that doesn’t gain it via the object Metal Coat (like Scizor) or via other Pokémon trade interactions (Escavalier), it’s important to look at the context of Corviknight life.
While adult Corviknight can be seen roaming the Wild Area, their fledgeling Rookidee are most commonly seen on the outskirts of more peaceful towns. As Corviknight are almost never seen in these areas, it has lead to two divergent trains of thought: one, that what was believed to be the species adolescent stage, Corvisquire, is actually the adult of this species, and that Corviknight are a more extreme stage of their growth attained after taking care of their young, or two, that Corviknight require so much energy to maintain their large sizes that young are left to fend for themselves while Corviknight seek out steel-type prey to maintain their hardened carapaces (Cufant).
Talonflame are a species native to the Kalos region. Their powerful wing muscles allow them to pursue prey at high speeds, though the species as a whole is reliant on divebomb-style attacks to subdue prey. Official Pokémon matches had to amend special rules disbarring Talonflame from flying out too far from chosen arenas, as opposing trainers complained having your opponent disappear for such a long time made for a boring sport. As a result particularly dedicated Kalos trainers take part in “aerial battles” limiting the Pokémon set to only flying ones, to give predatory bird Pokémon an outlet for their natural battle style.
Unlike the more speed-based approach of Talonflame, Staraptor are an entirely different breed of bird Pokémon. While they have been classified as a normal/flying, the Pokémon boasts immense physical ability in close combat. As Staraptor are rarely reported being seen in the wild in Sinnoh, it’s believed that the birds are largely nomadic and will make their homes anywhere they can find prey to take out their territorial needs on, before moving on to the next area. Trainers whose Staravia grow into Staraptor are in for a good time, as the large Pokémon’s aggressive nature is perfectly suited for battle, and having a permanent home with a trainer is better for them to keep them from becoming invasive.”- Prof. Hibiki Tsukasa, An Introductory Look At Flying Pokémon
