“He did,” Wanda smirks, “No one wears him down into friendship like you do. He needs it. He is so focused on — you’re very good for him,” She says with a nod. Pietro needed someone who was just there for him, someone he didn’t feel responsible for.

“Tommy is here! We.. things are…” Wanda wrung her hands together and shrugged. “He’s a good boy,” She settles on. “And I love him very much, I am glad he is here. Billy is in New York with his family, but we keep in touch.” It hurt her that things were so strained between her and her children. She wanted nothing more than to repair those relationships but — it would take time. “Nice?” She quirks an eyebrow. “Do not lie to me, Clint Barton,” She says, clicking her tongue and shaking her head, curls going this way and that, as unruly as ever. “I like Downton Abbey,” She grins. “Pietro loathes it, but will watch it with me sometimes.”

“That’s what I’m best at, or so I’ve been told,” he said wryly. 

“Well, you’ve got one of them at least. They’re pretty much adults now anyways, that’s when they like to get as far from parents as possible, right?” At least, he thought it was. He had run from his dad long before 18, but that was different circumstances. 

“Downton Abbey, huh? I haven’t seen it.” He wasn’t big on the whole period piece genre. “I’ve mostly been watching those competition shows. Great British Bakeoff, Chopped, Project Runway.” Not that he knew anything about the subject matter, but he liked to pretend.

“They’re 17, yes. But it’s not as if I was around for them to get want to get away from,” she shrugs, picking at old nail polish on her thumb, remnants from her and Luna messing around. “I am grateful for what I can get, I suppose.” She nods.

“It’s silly,” She waves a hand. “Oh great brutish bake off is a good one!” She laughs, leaning back in her chair. “Would not have pegged you as someone who would be into it though. Always full of surprises,” Wanda said with a congenial smile. “So, now that you’re here. How long before you break the ban.” It wasn’t really a question. Mostly she just wanted to know what he was up to.

LA: Ohh, we can make cupcakes?

WM: if you'd like, love. What kind?

[wanda--maximcff]

DG: Well, I can be a Dick, so I guess never say never

DG: You just wait. Look for chocolate spread with chocolate sprinkles.

WM: This is all getting terribly confusing.

WM: Whatever you do in your spare time, dear, is your choice.

MERA: That does not sound very appetizing.

WANDA: No? No cake where you are from?

So this past summer, Nick Spencer asked me to work up some sketches of the Maximoff twins for something he was working on.  As usual I went a little overboard and this is what I sent him.  It’s hard for me to think of a dream project… but this would be awfully close to being one.  Enjoy!

"Should I be offended that I had to find you since you’ve gotten to town?” Wanda asks, balloons in one hand and a spice cake balancing on the other. “Happy Birthday, Steve,” Wanda said with a wide grin. 

It was so good to see so many familiar faces. It made the buzzing under her skin calm. It made things feel a little more normal which made it almost easier to breathe. Steve’s face was a welcome sight. “Spice cake, if my memory serves me right you’re a fan?” She says holding the platter out.

He smiled at her, a flash of nostalgia washing through him. He had missed the twins. It seemed like it had been years since they were all properly together. “Yeah, he was his usual grumpy self, but I know he secretly missed me,” he said.

“That it? What about your sons?” he asked. “And your sister? Is there gonna be a whole family reunion I should know about?” He hoped not, just because they were all slightly less than sane. He didn’t think the city would survive that. 

“I’m fine,” Clint waved off. “It’s been… nice,” he settled on. It had been a bit overwhelming at first, suddenly having free time, but he had almost developed normal people hobbies. “TV is pretty great now.”

DG: I'm Dick

DG: Like that's my name

DG: I'm not A dick. Swear.

DG: A cupcake parade sounds AMAZING I would wave a cupcake flag

WM: That would be a horrible thing to call yourself!

WM: now this is just out of hand. I do not believe someone who would be called a dick would have a cupcake flag, so you're safe.

S: Yeah. I was going to ask if I knew you...

S: Nobody would turn down free food

S: It's 4th of July. Do you think would be fireworks here?

WM: See, that makes sense to me, you celebrate the freeing of a country.

WM: I am sure there are! I mean Downtown somewhere.

MERA: Is that all?

WANDA: Basically, with frosting and some decorations usually.

LA: Because cupcakes are wonderful!

WM: They are! And I love to make them for you, but it's silly.

DG: Don't you dare demean the seriousness of good cupcakes, mystery texter.

WM: Sorry it does appear I texted the wrong number, just one number off. My name is Wanda. You're kind for indulging me.

WM: I make very good cupcakes, thank you, but I do not think they deserve their own day. What is next? A cupcake parade.

He looked over at her with puppy dog eyes. “I’m here now?” he offered. He knew he had gotten a bit out of touch with everyone, but he had needed it. He had just wanted to hide in his apartment forever, but Kate hadn’t let him. The urge to run away and sleep forever was still there, but he was making an effort now.

“That sounds fun,” he said. “You get to travel a lot?” He took a sip of his drink. 

“Yeah, Pietro was telling me his daughter is staying with him now. And I heard your dad is here too.”

“I suppose you are, you’re forgiven,” Wanda offers him a congenial smile. If she were mad, it wouldn’t stick. “I am glad that you are. I am sure Pietro is too. He will not say it, so as per usual, I will say it for him.” Wanda shrugs and takes a sip of water. “I did, yes. I try to stay closer now. I was glad to travel when I felt like — there was no purpose for me to be still but with all of my family in one place things are more bearable,” it felt like she had some purpose again. “Erik is here and yes! Luna is here, she is lovely. More beautiful and clever and lovely every day I feel,” She grins. “She is a doll. But how are you -- dealing with being a little more dormant?” Clint was not one to sit still.

Anna was trying to decide between cheese with jalapeño and pepper jack. Both would probably disgust Erik, but she didn’t really care. If it were up to him then they would have some fancy dish every night - but she’d never been high maintenance. She’d sooner make herself cheese and crackers (saltines, nothing fancy). 

“Um -” The voice was instantly familiar, but it wasn’t until she actually looked and caught sight of Wanda’s face that all the pieces fell together. “…Hi,” she said carefully, her tone not defensive. Not yet, anyway. After the way she’d encountered Pietro - twice, actually - she couldn’t help but cautious. “Right, Luna.” She’d seen Luna at the bunker a couple of times and knew how fond Erik was of her. “She likes almond milk the best, but she drinks soy, too.” The only reason Anna knew that was because the milk cartons had stood in stark contrast to her own whole milk.

Shifting her weight, she put both packets of cheese in her basket. “I’m good. How’re you, Wanda? How’s Luna? Haven’t seen her in a while.”

“I know she does, but I thought she said she wanted cashew last time and then I read an article that says we consume too much soy and so now I feel like —“ Wanda shrugs. There was too much information, not enough direction, she supposed. “It’s silly I suppose, she is not very picky.” Wanda just shrugged and reached for the almond milk, it was safe. “She’s very good, I think. Doesn’t seem to give me any reason to think otherwise.” Wanda says, resting her forearms on the cart. “How are you? I have not seen you in likely longer than you have not seen Luna,” She asks politely.

S: Because it's free. People would do anything for free food.

S: Yeah. It's not something worth to think further.

S: I'm Sigyn. Nice to meet you,even though it's just virtually.

WM: Oh sorry i think I texted the wrong number.

WM: I suppose that is true, I will not turn down free food.
