Tyche, Goddess of Luck

Tyche is just one of those girls. She can look at her phone when walking down the sidewalk and know exactly when to avoid the lamppost, she could find a crisp twenty lying on the street, and she can get a taxi on the first try. Her life is more put together than anyone’s, and when you ask her what’s her secret, Tyche will just smile and say “I guess I’m just lucky!” But there is something, a twinkle in those brown eyes, that suggests she knows more than she’s letting on. If she doesn’t like someone, they always seemed to be caught in a storm. If someone shoves into her to get on the subway, they always seem to trip right before getting on the train. You don’t know how she does it, you don’t want to know, but you’re sure to always stay on her good side no matter what.

It’s actually really funny how many cultures have fox spirits and how many mostly consider them Complete Assholes, whether actively malicious or just dickheads that trick people

You’ve got the Kitsune that can be anywhere from incomprehensibly evil and powerful to doting mothers and good wives, 

You’ve got the Huli Jing in China which were believed to be entirely female and needed male energy to survive, and did so by corrupting high-level politicians- and the Jiuweihu, the big girls that took to leading souls away from Dharma,

You’ve got the Gumiho in Korea, who just straight up eat people’s livers or steal their life force,

In Scandinavia, specifically Finland, fox spirits were believed to be the cause of Aurora Borealis, revontulet, the “fox fire”, as well as just usually messing with people, and then also the Brunnmigi for the Norse which poisoned water because fuck you,

The Celts also attributed them to be wily little bastards that existed to make fools of hunters and apparently that’s where the word “Shenanigan” came from, originally being sionnachuighim, “I play the fox” in irish gaelic,

In Europe you’ve got Reynard the asshole baron, 

and from what I’ve seen a lot of native american tribes also just consider them dicks on the level of coyotes 

it’s like every human that sees one of these

is just like “wow, what an asshole”, it’s great

Euros, God of the East Wind

Son of the Dawn and the God of Winds, Euros comes from the East. With him, he brings the warmth and rain. You may think this means the warm summer storms that entice us out of the house to hear the thunder. And sometimes it does, with the last storms of the warm season. He can be soft and generous if pressed, giving you a slight reprieve with a cool smile and a warm hand. But Euros is the unfavorable one. His season isn’t summer, but fall. Strong winds and rain in autumn can only mean one thing. When Euros returns in the fall, like students returning for classes, he walks with hurricanes in his wake, flooding his enemies and bringing chaos to all around him.

Andromeda of Galaxies and Sea Serpents

At the age of 16, Andromeda ran away from home and abuse and bad love. She finally saw that it was not good for her, and lives in the city on her own. She covers her hair and her skin like she wasn’t able to before and feels freer than she ever has been. She sits on the beach, staring at the water and wondering how far she can go, and knows with a secret smile that she now has all the time in the world to find out. She knows now that she can take on the monsters herself, and that some monsters don’t even need to be fought. She has also found a boy that looks at her like she is a galaxy, and bumbles with his words when he talks to her because he wants to be nice, to be good. And she smiles, because he is so different, so sweet, and she knows that one day they’ll be ready to fight those monsters together.

Bendis was a Thraco-Dacian divinity of the moon and the hunt, often identified with Artemis by the greek. Greek Mythology: Clymene

Clymene was a Titan goddess in Greek mythology, daughter of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys, thus making her an Oceanid. She was the goddess of renown, fame, and infamy. She was married to the Titan Iapetus, and they had four sons, Atlas, Epimetheus, Prometheus and Menoetius.

Aja, Goddess of Forests and Healing

Aja has a forest growing out of her apartment, as thick as her midnight hair twisted on top of her head. Small parrots and Herbs intermingling in the living room, flying and growing without boundaries or cages. In the bedroom that she keeps as hot as a sauna are the vines and cats, curling up in the warmth to make the whole room cozier. She takes the dogs for their walks every morning, sometimes with her lone snake wrapped inside her shirt for company. She greets everyone she passes, knowing their names and sorrows like they are her own. This dark-skinned goddess lets the children pet the dogs and freely offers advice and remedies, for she would heal all if she could. Off she goes, walking back to her jungle growing in the third floor.

Chin, of Prostitution and Homosexuality

On dark street corners, barely visible behind the lamp lights, is Chin. He is young, so young he doesn’t even have stubble, but the look on his face shows that he has seen much beyond his years. He hides from cop cars as they pass his alleys, all his possessions on his back. He drinks cheap coffee alone, and when the night comes, oh when the night comes, Chin makes his money. With his friends, other boys like him, they step out in the early hours to seduce passing cars. A little make-up, a little skin, and they own the heat waves of the night. They come and go, picked up and dropped off by the shadowed men in the driver seats, and each time they get a little wearier. But Chin keeps them going on; they have little choice. Yes, this boy is much older than the years he shows.

Bobbi Bobbi, of Bats and Boomerangs

The old man with the white beard lives alone in a quiet apartment above his corner store. Bobbi Bobbi, they say his name is. Not much is known about him, except from the strange tattoos peeking out from his shirt collar and the way his black skin hides his wrinkles and makes his hair and eyes stand out all the more. He scares some people with his strange appearance, and interests others for the same reason. Local kids would dare each other to run all the way through his strange smelling herbal store before he chases them out. Yelling and screaming with the strip of wood waving above his head, Bobbi Bobbi bursts out of his store like a bat out of hell, and chasing those that would dare come unwanted onto his property. But beneath the scowl and the herbal smell, he is still an old man, and despite what people say, he does have a heart. Bobbi Bobbi would never hurt anyone; he has just learned that the world is not as kind as he once was, and prefers his solitude now.
