Traditional cottage house in Poland
Tiny Oak chapel near Jovac in Vladičin Han region. It is dedicated to Saint Pantelija, the last of the firy summer saints who is celebrated on 9th August at the end of Kresovi, =fire days, hottest days. In folk tradition St Pantelija is brother of St Ilija the Thunderer, who controls the thunder. His day is 2nd August, originally day of Perun. Both Ilija &. Pantelija are Christian personifications of Perun, the thunder god, the third and most powerful head of Triglav. Oaks are the holy trees of the thunder gods.
