We pulled into Big Bear Lake after way too much driving and decided not to leave for two weeks. No town runs, no errands, just 40 gallons and a challenge we made up on a Friday. Rooster's first snow, questionable hygiene, and the best reset we have had. Blog link in bio!

One year ago we picked up this little guy and our van life changed forever. Today we celebrated Rooster's first birthday with a river day, a four-piece Happy Meal (apple slices: rejected), and a campfire that ended with Ethan screaming because our dog ate a fire starter. We made it to California! And no, LAX layovers do not count. First week in the van was spent along the Kern River in Sequoia National Forest with pine cones bigger than our heads and neighbors who could not get enough of Rooster. New post is up, link in bio!
Not every week has to be a big adventure. We spent two weeks dispersed camping in Coconino National Forest outside Flagstaff and it was one of our favorite stops so far. Rooster ran free, Goose claimed his spot under the van, and we finally saw Project Hail Mary. Link in bio!
We had been waiting to bring Rooster to White Sands since the day we got him and it did not disappoint. One hour, a long leash, and one very happy Brittany. Oh and we accidentally stumbled upon something Ethan has wanted to see since he was a kid. New post up, link in bio!
We finally made it to Guadalupe Mountains and tackled the highest peak in Texas. 8.2 miles, almost 3,000 feet of elevation, no shade, and the most incredible view at the top. Full post up now, link in bio!
