slavetoyourmagic answered your question:Is Antiva the equivalent of Spain or rather Italy?…
((I’ve had RL interaction with people and accents from both, and I’d say Italy/Venice c: Could be just me though :D))
Hmmm, I’m not sure. I know Italian dialects can differ greatly, but the pronunciation still weird for me? For example (ok, now watch me using IPA symbols jfc, I’ve always been bad in transcriptions): Nunciopronounced in the game as [‘nantsi:o] pronounced in Italian as [‘nuntʃo] Zevran in game: [‘zevrɑn] in Italian: [‘dze:vran] (I’m not sure about the long e tho)
(sorry if my transcriptions aren’t 100% perfect, I’m no linguist or anything)

I know Antiva directly shares some location names with Italy (specifically Rialto and Treviso), but I agree the pronunciation is a puzzle.
Omg, you are right?? I even remember a post about it, it’s here. So maybe Antiva is based on Italy, however, Antivan isn’t necessarily Italian.
((Hm yeah, I agree the pronunciation is neither here nor there, so it could be a mixture language wise? I suppose it’d make sense to not make the countries perfectly equal to ours and add a little twist instead c: Besides, I see Tevinter Imperium as a nod to Roman Empire, which is again semi-related to Italy, sooo who knows? :3))
(( It's true that some of the Antivan names are based on Italian locations! I also live very near Treviso and of course Rialto that's a bridge in Venice :D If someone wants to know Italian pronounciations, I'm willing to help ))
