“Mhm. We’ll see, but if you’re wrong, I’m taking away your hair gel for a week,” Sebastian stated playfully with a shrug, smiling softly as Blaine admitted to him that he would go through everything he dealt with when first trying to get to know him all over again and honestly, if he could, Sebastian would go back in time and tell himself to not be so harsh on Blaine because he really was one of the good guys. 

“Of course I promise, Wes knows nothing about it and those who helped me organise everything are under strict orders not to blab at least until we sneak back to our rooms afterwards.” The Freshman assured confidently, listening to the older brunette as he told him a little bit more about how Wes treated people, especially when it came down to being a Warbler. “If it lasts forever I swear I’ll kill him.” The taller teen joked, letting out a chuckle as he walked hand in hand with his boyfriend to the choir room to attend Warbler Practice. 

Warbler Practice seemed to have dragged on for what seemed like forever, especially when it came to Wes giving everyone a lecture on punctuation- his eyes being locked on Sebastian the entire time, although, things like that just made the newest member want to do the opposite just to annoy him. Other than that, the practice actually went well and due to them being given permission to miss the rest of the day’s classes, they all managed to get their homework finished by the time the last bell rang. Some students went home, while others like Sebastian went to their dorm room; he had his reasons for wanting to remain in school rather than at home, but he was glad this was what he had decided, because it meant with Blaine also staying in a dorm too, they could have private little dates once the lights went out.

Once he got to his room, Sebastian started getting himself showered and dressed for his date with Blaine, he even styled his hair without product so it would have that fluffiness his boyfriend seemed to like so much. The next challenge was getting past the prefects, before leaving, he did the best he could to make it seem like he was in bed by using his pillows and clothes, he turned the light out and then carried his shoes in his hand as he made his way down the corridor without a sound.

Luckily he had managed to make it to the Common Room without getting caught and once he was there, Sebastian started to perfect the room for when Blaine would get there; he made sure the rose petals were perfectly placed around the floor, he dimmed the lights of the chandelier that hung from the ceiling and he quietly added the ice to the ice bucket for their alcohol-free sparkling Rosé. Once inside was perfect, Sebastian went out onto the balcony to fix the blanket on the ground and turn on the lights to each plastic circular candle that would surround them for their romantic picnic, going back inside and putting his shoes on before biting down nervously on his bottom lip as he waited for Blaine to arrive.

Blaine’s eyes widened hearing his boyfriend threaten to take away his hair gel for a week. He had no idea how crazy his hair could be without product in it. There was no way he could last a week without it. “I wouldn’t do that unless you don’t mind having Medusa for a boyfriend,” he said laughing a little and hoping that Sebastian wasn’t really serious. There was no way he could walk through the halls with his hair being that out of hand.

He laughed at Seb threatening to kill Wes for his lack of people skills. “Oh don’t worry. If he stays this way I think we’ll all kill him,” he said laughing as he walked with his boyfriend. “Good. That should keep away any unwanted interruptions,” he said kissing his cheek excitement growing for their date tonight.

Blaine hummed happily as he got ready for their date making sure his hair was perfectly styled and his outfit looked just right. Most students had gone home for the weekend which worked out perfectly for the two of them. There would be less students to run into and less to interrupt them. He made sure his bed looked like he was sleeping in it and straightened his bowtie once more before leaving his dorm room. Blaine snuck through the familiar halls he knew so well and made his way quietly to the common room. He pushed open the door and gasped seeing how beautiful the room looked with the lights dimmed and rose petals all over the floor. He grinned seeing his boyfriend waiting for him. “This is amazing...You did all this?” he asked walking towards him.

“You’ve been a Warbler longer than I have, and that obviously means you know them better than I do… I believe you, it’s just- my life is complicated and that’s why I don’t let many people in… But you’re different because even when I was such an asshole to you, you still fought to get me to talk to you. I’m glad you did, though, cause now you’re my boyfriend and I can’t even imagine my life without you. Sebastian admitted, smiling brightly when Blaine assured him that he was doing a pretty good job of being romantic. 

The Freshman wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s waist and pulled him closer to him as they kissed, grinning slightly when the older teen told him he was all his, kissing him deeply for a moment before pulling back, “Blaine, I lo-” Just then Jeff and Wes knocked on the door, pulling the couple from their moment as they stepped inside, Wes making their presence known with a light clearing of his throat. “The Headmaster gave us the go-ahead for Warbler Practice for the rest of the day for the event in a few weeks… You two coming?” He asked, Sebastian suddenly becoming so awkward and dishevelled as he moved away from Blaine and grabbed his backpack. “I- uh, yeah, totally.” 

As the two Warblers walked out of the room and made their way to recruit the other members, the younger brunette bit down on his bottom lip as he looked over at Blaine and gave him a wink. “No disruptions tonight. I promise. Now, let’s go, we don’t need to give Wesley any more reasons to not like me.” He joked, chuckling as he picked up his boyfriend’s bag and waited for him. 

Blaine nodded at Sebastian knowing how long it took for his boyfriend to let him in. The Warblers all thought Blaine was crazy that he fought so hard to break past his barriers and get to know him even though he was as ass to everyone. Blaine just knew that there was more to Sebastian and never gave up on him. He had been so happy that he was right and Sebastian finally let him see the real him. “I know...and they’ll see that too. They know I wouldn’t date just anyone. They’ll see how amazing you are. I promise,” he said smiling at his boyfriend. “And I would do all of that all over again for you. I really care about you. So much,” Blaine said almost letting out those three little words. He would save that for tonight. 

He sighed against Sebastian’s lips, holding him close. He felt like he could just melt into his arms and into his kiss. It felt so amazing to be with him and to be wanted by him. Blaine felt like he was on top of the world with how happy he was. He groaned hearing the knock on the door and rolled his eyes at Jeff and Wes’ interruption. They knew the two of them were busy. Was rehearsal really that important to interrupt them? “Wesley. Can’t you see we’re a little busy?” he asked him sighing annoyed at his friend. He reluctantly pulled away from Sebastian and nodded his head. “Do we have a choice? We really need to work on your people skills,” he said sighing as he watched the two Warblers leave the room. 

“You really promise?” he asked Sebastian smiling. “We’ll just make sure Wes has no idea where we are and that Jeff and Trent don’t know either so thy won’t blab it to him and we should be fine,” he said laughing a little. “You’ll learn Wes gives everyone a hard time even his so called friends,” Blaine said with a laugh ans he took his bag from his boyfriend. “Let’s go. Hopefully this rehearsal won’t last forever,” he said laughing as he kissed his boyfriend. He took his hand and grinned at him as they walked looking forward to their date that night.

“And I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one, but I think it’s adorable you have so much fate in the Warblers- you always manage to find the good in everybody.” Sebastian admired with a fond smile, wishing that he too could have the ability to see the good in everyone; maybe he would have more friends if he did. But now wasn’t the time to ponder about the what if’s, he was determined to surprise his boyfriend, the last thing he wanted to do was make it about himself. This was for Blaine, to see just how much Sebastian really appreciated and love him even though he still wasn’t the greatest at showing it.

“Of course it is, you’re worth this and so much more- I wanted to do something to show you just how much I care about you because I know I’m still not that great as broadcasting it. You mean so much to me, Blaine Anderson,” Sebastian said in a soft voice, dropping his backpack and walking over to his boyfriend, a bright smile appearing as he wrapped his arms around the other’s waist; tenderly pressing their lips together for a moment before pulling back. “I don’t know what I would do without you,”

Blaine blushed a little at Sebastian’s praise over him. “I try to...Its not as easy with everyone,” he said shrugging a bit. “I never had that problem with you though,” he said smiling at his boyfriend and squeezing his hand. “The Warblers are family though, you’ll see,” he said smiling happily at Sebastian. He knew that over time his boyfriend would love being a Warbler just as much as he did. “Even if you don’t believe me, I know that they will be there for you if you need them,” he said smiling more at Sebastian.

He blushed more at Sebastian’s words, grinning wider and wider the more his boyfriend spoke about him. “I think you’re doing a pretty good job at showing it right now,” he said looking at the room and his boyfriend. “You mean so much to me too,” he said, wrapping his arms around his neck. He wanted so badly to say that he loved him, he knew the time he would let those words slip from his lips was fast approaching the way things were going maybe he would tell him tonight. “What did I do to deserve you?” he said grinning and kissing Sebastian’s lips again. He didn’t care about anything else in this moment but the man in front of him. “I’m all yours,” he said, pulling him closer and kissing him deeply.

“I hope so,” Sebastian smiled, trying to contain his excitement as he led the way to the surprise he had worked so hard on putting together for Blaine. 

“Awe, thanks,” the younger brunette chuckled, kissing the older male on the cheek before biting down on his bottom lip as they got closer to the common room; the worries of all of this possibly being too much and scaring Blaine away. Sebastian was ready to tell Blaine how he truly felt about him and he thought this romantic dinner would really make it perfect, but he couldn’t help but worry that maybe he had gotten too carried away. “I know, but I wasn’t sure if they were that cool with me, you know? I think they would’ve done it anyway because it’s for you, but I still have to try to build their trust in me.” The French native shrugged, looking at Blaine and blushing as he let go of his hold on his boyfriend’s hand; walking up to the double doors of the common room and slowly pushing them open. 

Inside the room was dimly lit with the lights of the chandelier that hung on the ceiling in the centre of the room; red rose petals scattered neatly on the floor leading up to the large white couch that faced the fireplace. The circular glass table in front of the couch also had rose petals around it, a silver ice bucket sat in the centre of the table with alcohol-free sparkling Rosé chilling inside it. The trail of rose petals didn’t lead to the couch and the table, however, instead they led to the two wooden double doors that led to the balcony. Sebastian pulled them open and the balcony had small circular candles around it as a white blanket lay in the left corner, a picnic basket protected in the shade; Sebastian planning on them having a romantic picnic under the stars together later that evening.

“I think they would have helped you out even if it wasn’t something for me. Warblers stick together after all,” he said smiling at Sebastian. He really did think that the other guys were really starting to like Sebastian. He had let his guard down a lot and was more trusting and open to having friends in his life. He couldn’t wait to see what they all had planned for him. What was so important that his boyfriend needed to recruit help for?

Blaine gasped as he saw how beautifully the room was decorated. It was so romantic with all the rose petals and the candles and private picnic. He definitely had a soft spot for big romantic gestures and this went above and beyond what any boy had ever done for him. “This - this is all for me? Sebastian...its beautiful. I love it,” he said grinning at him before pulling him into a kiss. “This is just perfect,” he said, setting his bag down, not wanting to worry about classes or any schoolwork while he was with Sebastian.

“Good. I am too,” he said happily, loving how he could just be himself around Blaine and not have to fear any type of ridicule or judgement; the older teen accepted him for who he was and there was no fear of saying something that would drive the other away. It was something he had never experienced with someone before, which was what made their relationship so special. “Thanks, but you might not think that when you see what I’ve done,” he joked, blushing as he chuckled and kissed Blaine back on the cheek as they walked down the corridor without a care in the world.

“Yes, you are, because special people deserve special previews,” the brunette teased, following his boyfriend up the spiral staircase, laughing at Blaine’s comment. “Yeah, I did! Who knew I could actually be tolerable long enough for them to help me?” He joked, rushing up the remaining steps to catch up with the older teen, taking his hand in his once more and leading the way to the common room that the balcony was joined to.

“I’m sure I’ll love it,” he said smiling at Sebastian. Blaine was sure he would love anything his boyfriend did for him. Just getting treated like he was so special and him showing how much he cared for him meant all the world.  

“I think you’re pretty special too,” he said, smiling at Sebastian. He had been thinking for a while to tell him how he really felt about him and tell him how much he loved him but had been waiting for the right moment to do so. Maybe tonight on their date would be the perfect moment. “Of course they’re gonna help. They’re your friends too. Friends help each other,” he said smiling knowing how far Sebastian had come since he had arrived at the school. It had been rough at first, but the other Warblers were really starting to like him and respect him and were becoming good friends. He squeezed his hand as he followed him down the hall into the common room.

“I know, but now it’s my turn to make that look appear on your face,” the Freshman stated with a bright smile, biting his bottom lip and sighing in content as he savoured the moment after Blaine kissed him in return. “I know, but sometimes I feel like I don’t show you enough and every time I do, we’re either interrupted or something happens and we have to cancel our plans. But not today, today I am going to make sure you never forget this.” Sebastian said softly, blushing slightly over how excited his boyfriend seemed to be. “I don’t want you to get your hopes up, but the surprise is for tonight, okay? We have Warbler practice next lunch and this lunch is only fifteen minutes, but yeah, it’s still a surprise I guess? I mean, you don’t know where it is? Sorry, I wasn’t kidding when I said I was bad at this.” 

Sebastian let out a frustrated sigh as he helped Blaine up, shaking his head in response to his boyfriend’s question. “No, their face was covered by their hood; fucking asshole…” He mumbled, calming himself down before smiling at the older teen and once again interlocking their fingers together. “Top floor balcony; Wes, Jeff and Nick managed to convince the Headmaster to keep it off limits so I could have it nicely decorated for tonight.”

Blaine blushed a little, smiling proudly at being this man’s boyfriend. How had he gotten so lucky? “I’m looking forward to it Mr. Smythe,” he said grinning at his boyfriend. He loved how special Sebastian made him feel even when he wasn’t going out of his way to do so. Blaine laughed a little seeing how nervous Sebastian was. It was absolutely adorable. “I think you’re doing great. I’m looking forward for tonight. I’m just happy to spend time with you so don’t worry about it too much okay?” he said, kissing Sebastian’s cheek as they walked down the hall. 

“So I’m getting a special preview?” he asked grinning as they headed up the stairs. “You managed to get Wes, Jeff and Nick to help with this? Now I’m really excited for tonight,” he said, grinning excitedly, already forgetting about the stranger that had bumped into them.

“I’m glad you liked my surprise; you’re always waiting outside for me after my classes, so I thought I’d change it up a bit,” Sebastian said with a smile, wrapping his arm’s around Blaine’s waist as he kissed him tenderly on the lips. “It’s my turn to show you how much I care about you because I do. A lot. I know I don’t show it as often as you do towards me, but I promise I’m working on it.” He said happily, pulling back for a moment as he took his boyfriend’s hand and interlocked their fingers together, “we better get out of here before we get trampled on by the seniors heading to gym.” Sebastian said with a chuckle, grinning as he looked at his boyfriend and started to walk down the corridor with him, not expecting to be shoved as violently as he was into a wall by someone with a black hoodie on, their entire face covered as they covered your typical gym bag from Walmart. “Watch it asshole!” The Freshman shouted, glaring at the hooded male, letting out a frustrated sigh as the assumed Senior just kept walking down the corridor; not once turning to look back at Sebastian.

“Dickhead,” Sebastian mumbled, running his free hand through his hair before picking his backpack off the ground and throwing it over he shoulder, looking at Blaine and sighing as his sight turned to the floor. “Sorry, I know I shouldn’t rise to it… You okay? You didn’t get hurt, did you?”

Blaine grinned at his boyfriend, loving that he had come to meet him as a surprise. “You know I like seeing that look on your face when I surprise you,” he said, laughing a little as he kissed him back, sighing against his lips. “You don’t have to do that, I know you care about me,” the shorter boy said, blushing a little. “But I have to admit, I am really excited to seeing what you have planned,” he said, squeezing Sebastian’s hand as they interlocked their fingers together. Blaine loved outward expressions of love Valentine’s day was his favorite holiday after all. He would never force anyone to do something they weren’t comfortable with though. He knew some people were more private with showing how they cared about you and he was okay with that too. In a way it made it more special that way knowing that it was a side of him that only Blaine got to see. 

A stranger shoved them roughly against the wall and Blaine stumbled onto the floor. He looked up seeing him continuing to walk down the hall without stopping to apologize or see if they were okay or anything. That wasn’t how anyone from Dalton should act. Blaine stared at him as he got further away, noticing he wasn’t wearing a blazer or the uniform like everyone else was. “Yeah, I’m okay,” he said taking Sebastian’s hand as he helped him up. “Who was that? They weren’t wearing a uniform...did you see their face?” he asked, adjusting his satchel as they continued their walk down the hall. “Maybe they were just visiting or something...” he said, shrugging, determined to not let that ruin their day. “So, where are we headed?”

Since it’s opening, Dalton Academy was known as one of the best boarding schools for boys; it was known for turning immature teens into men by graduation and it was yet to be let down by either a current or past student. Sebastian was one of their many Freshman students and it was safe to say he had started as one of the most arrogant of the pack and had already managed to down himself down enough for people to see his humility and realise that deep down he wasn’t such an asshole after all. 

Amazingly, his humble side had a lot of people fawning over him, but nobody caught his eye quite like Blaine Anderson; Blaine was a year ahead of him and he was the type of person to give everyone a chance, and that’s exactly what he did with Sebastian. He didn’t tell him to get lost when he tried to act all tough during Warbler practice, he didn’t lose his cool and tell him not to speak to him ever again. No, Blaine Anderson simply gave Sebastian Smythe a chance. Sebastian was originally from France and English wasn’t his first language and Blaine found a way to put himself in the younger boy’s shoes; how hard it must’ve been to leave his home, friends and other family members behind for an entirely new place where he now had to learn English even more than he had been back home in school. 

Skip almost four months later and here Sebastian was, he had more than one friend and his crush on Blaine Anderson soon turned from a dream to a reality; their feelings for one another had been mutual and almost after a month of regularly spending time together and tutoring and Warbler practice, they officially became an exclusive couple and they’ve been going strong for the past three months. 

It was the first lunch break of the day and Sebastian was quick on his heels to get to his boyfriend’s Numeracy Class so he could greet him and spend lunch together. Sure, it was only fifteen minutes, but something in the fifteen-year-old’s gut was telling him to cherish every moment he got to spend with his boyfriend today. It wasn’t this nagging feeling that was bothering him, he was just taking it as not being as loving as Blaine had been to him. He wanted to show his romantic side for once, he wanted to treat his boyfriend and show him just how romantic he could truly be when he really wanted to.

But if only he knew that nagging feeling in his gut was so much more than what he thought it was. It was only a matter of time…

Blaine loved being at Dalton Academy. At such a renowned school like Dalton, they strived to provide the best education to their students. A Dalton man could go forward in life with pride about where he came from and with the tools to be successful wherever he chose to go. Blaine loved his classes and he loved his fellow students. He had been quick to make friends especially with the guys in the Warblers. 

Being a Warbler was his favorite thing about being at Dalton. He loved singing and dancing with them. He had quickly become a lead soloist and a leader in the group, loving that they all got along so well. Blaine had never really felt like he fit in anywhere until the Warblers. He had always been picked last to be on any sports team and had been made fun of  at his other schools. Having friends and being a part of a team did wonders for his confidence, improving his stage presence. Blaine loved helping all of his classmates out with anything they needed which included Sebastian Smythe when he enrolled in the school.

Blaine was instantly drawn to Sebastian. The other boy tried to appear arrogant and tough, but Blaine could see through that facade. He gave him a chance and tried to really get to know him, spending time helping him with English and with the Warblers. They grew closer and closer until before they knew it they were boyfriends and Blaine couldn’t have been happier. Sebastian had in only a few months had quickly become one of the most important people in his life. 

As his class ended, he gathered his books into his bag, smiling when he exited the room and saw his boyfriend standing there. “Hey! Didn’t expect to see you here. This is a nice surprise,” he said grinning at the taller boy, wrapping his arms around his neck.
