Champion of Azeroth!

Was... a let down :-(

Two disappointments at once.  I tried to find the quest to upgrade my necklace again... everyone says there isn’t one.  Ah... what?  Why bother then?  Oh, there is a piece of gear purchasable... but still?  Really no upgrade on the necklace.  Please be more consistent Blizzard, every other rep level change you gave us a quest. 

And I was pleased that it was my 55th rep.  I was ready for “United Nations” (and the mount that goes with that) in my little family guild... but nooooooo.  Those are 55 ‘special’ reps you need.  Turns out I only have 36 of the ones required for that achievement.  i.e. none of Draenor or Legion reps count, and a few from Pandaria don’t, etc.  Hmpf.

Conquest Rewards Confusion

So I’m not a PvPer... but I’m trying it out this expansion, trying to unlock the rewards.  I’ve been working a few weeks to get my first reward, and when it showed just a single weapon, I hear “don’t worry, you can pick your reward”.  I thought, awesome, I’m going to get all those transmogs just like every other quest now that rewards multiple items, you pick one and get the ‘mog for all of them.  But... nope.  You only get the one weapon.  Doh. 

Also, I was 8 conquest away from the 500, and they said it carries over.  It doesn’t.  I got 40 conquest, turned in the quest, and back to 0/500 for the next reward instead of 32/500.  Ugh.

And I’m totally confused about the big chest in there... will I get something in that Tuesday because I completed a conquest reward quest... or is that only a ‘rated’ thing, and is there a minimum anything for the rated or not, or can I just do a single something rated and make it out alive... (Note: I’ve tried a few rated things via the group finder and it has not been successful to say the least).

Introducing Piketeia and Deoiridh

My Dark Irons have entered the world.  Piketeia, a paladin, and Deoiridh (Dor-ee), a shaman. 

I’m kinda keen on leveling them... but gonna let them get some rested xp first.  I’m going to continue to target zones where I need quest rewards for my transmog collections.  I’m starting out on Darkshore.  Trying to get there from Stormwind proved a bit difficult ... and I took the boat to Boralus instead.  Whoops. Found the portal that replaced the boat now.

I managed to only spend a few hours obsessing over their names.  I used this ‘magical scottish baby names’ article for some inspiration.  “Dory” is ‘pilgrim’, and she’s leaving the mountain to explore the world so I thought that worked well.  Piketeia is a play on my main’s name, and the ‘p’ because she is also a paladin.  Who needs so many paladins on an account anyway.  Oh well, she’s on my 2nd account which doesn’t have an alliance paladin on it at least.  Other names considered: Lucy, Loosai, Atone, Isla, Islay, Eilidh, Uisdean, Clortho, Kragle.

I haven’t played ret in a long while.  Seems a bunch different.  I sorta wanted to simplify the dual-boxing and having them both be the same class... but I couldn’t justify the lack of mog I’d get for doing the quests twice.  All The Things.

I think I’ll level my Hordes in BfA for now, since I got the pathfinder they’ll go a bit faster.  But maybe I’ll jump on these two anyway.  It was 1h20m to get the addons configured, and them transmogged and kitted out with bags and things.  I have this idea that I track how long it takes me to level everyone, and I make the screenshots but don’t record it anyway else typically.

Allied Race: Dark Iron Dwarves

I have unlocked a new Allied Race.  The quest was a little odd I found.  I thought it was going to be ‘quick’.  I’m kinda glad it was more involved, but the addition of the dungeon requirement seemed out of place against most of the rest of BfA (especially compared to legion).  Doesn’t seem to fit in well with the story so far though.  Oh well.  I like the mount.  Small mounts make me feel like I’m going faster.  And the way it roars just like the Rick Moranis beast from Ghostbusters is fun.

Warsong Glutch Brawl

So I’m branching out a tad.  I’m thinking, this is “Battle for Azeroth” maybe it is time I do some PvP.  Check that top... for my Warsong Glutch experience on my ‘main’.  1 win in 8 years.  Got to finally capture a flag myself last night.  And all I was trying to do was the weekly quest to win one brawl.  One.  Check some of these attempts.  My team died a total of 5 times during the whole brawl.... but, Horde still won.  What game were we playing?!  And then again Alliance totally dominated the battlefield, I was on top of kills and honor gains... but that wasn’t enough (at least that one we lost 9/10).  Took me 5 tries to get a win.  That re-enforces the old narrative that you just don’t want to do battlegrounds as alliance.  But since we don’t have warfronts... ah well.  It wasn’t so bad.  And I stayed in tank spec too.  At one point I had 7 of their team on me.  For a good 2 minutes and they couldn’t get me down.  2 minutes, 7 of their team distracted... and what was my team doing?  Who knows.

For those counting, I’m honor level 7.  I don’t think that is saying a whole lot, right?

I tried a mythic +... it went pretty badly

Yeah. so.  27 deaths on a +2.  Eeek.  Near the beginning, the druid pulled extra mobs.  The mage got throw into another patrol.  We had *so* many mobs on us, we survived and did fine.  I thought, wow, this isn’t going to be so bad. Then it got bad.  And worse.  Ah well.  I’m putting it out of my mind.  Will practice a bit more.  And I’ll make sure I’ve done that particular dungeon on mythic before I try it “+” ;-)  And will try a little leadership instead of going along with things.

Oh, and the shaman healer at the end asking for the plate leggings started to explain a bit.  He thought he was playing his DK.  Wait... ah... that’s why I was never about 60% health at the start of pulls.

Pathfinder, Part One Complete

My feelings lately with BfA is how quick it is all going.  I got Azerothian Diplomat last night, my final requirement for Pathfinder Part One.  Now what?

That said, maybe it isn’t going all that quick because somehow I’m already 4days played into 120.  Huh.

Bonus, it was the last one I needed for my ‘weekly’ which gives 1.5k 7th Legion rep and... I require 1,445 rep to get exalted.  I’ll do that later tonight, gonna save turning it in for now.  The mount was reward enough ;-)

It is dumb, I know.  I’m more than geared, I learn quick, I’m patient with others.

But you know... there are those players out there who are none of those things who go along too...

The only thing new in the re-scheduled Trial of Style is a “Letter from an Admirer”... you get NPC fans that follow you from trial to trial.  Groupies.  Without the benefits one usually gets from groupies.

Reputation Gates for War Campaign

If you’re wondering when you’ll be getting your next War Campaign quest when in game it only says “Increase your reputation to continue” here are the break downs:

1st Reputation: Friendly (4500/6000) 2nd Reputation: Honored (3000/12000) 3rd Reputation: Honored (7500/12000) 4th Reputation: Revered

Remember to get 40000 azerite on Island Expeditions each week to get a bonus 1500 rep, this is a weekly reset and caries over if you don’t get enough one week.  The 40000 is 7 wins on normal difficulty (6k each = 42k so a bit of room for some close calls too).
