“A Lovers’ Quarrel” (my apologies to moses) Ink on Archival Paper 297x420mm I feel dead. Or maybe it’s actually just fatigue? I don’t know. Whatever it is, it’s like I haven’t felt alive in a very long time, but all of the machinery just somehow keeps chugging along. It’s such a hopeless feeling, and I’m not really sure when or if it will ever subside, but right now it just feels like this incredible heaviness. Drawing helps with that, though. I know it does. I think fo rme right now it’s just a matter of walking that line between allowing the work to be playful, but also fighting this ridiculous desire to give a sense of gravitas to everything I do. Anyway, none of that really has anything to do with this drawing. I have a vague idea of what it could be about, but I’m more interested in other peoples’ readings. What I will say, though is that it owes a lot to this Moses Sumney song x ig: @polamaneli​
