Nuru has an important message for you all.
Ragna does not understand the point of Snipperclips at all
I love that Nuru arrived in Greenfinger Zawan’s tribe and he was like “fucking superb you funky little Floran, join us as a Commander” and she did
Valder: Wait, I don't understand.. what's the difference between 'there' and 'their' and 'they're'?
Sigrid, externally: ...
Sigrid, internally: (Play the long game Sigrid, just play the long game and it'll all be worth it)
let me pull out my fanmap
it does make sense, considering the crimson isle is where the vampires are said to have flocked after sigrid joined the legion that means this was a region ruled by her master for about, what, 4000 years the codex said he was? i dont think the fell lords were much of a threat to him
#ye he was 4000#I like the idea that even the Fell Lords just Didn’t Fuck With the High Vampire that ruled that area#they’re like nah I’m content with the land I have#kinda makes me wonder how Sigrid even became a Commander though#clearly it was for her own benefit because that’s just how she is#but like… did she come to Valder or did Valder come to her?#and in Sigrid’s Codex it said she was Valder’s most trusted subordinate which just has me thinking#did he genuinely not realise how big of a threat Sigrid actually was?#or how powerful High Vampires in general are?#sjkahdksa I’m going off topic
YOURE NOT GOING OFF TOPIC JHAGHS I LOVE IT
when i think about it, i dont think valder would have tried to fuck with the Zone either? especially considering he’s very protective of felheim, he wouldnt want to endanger them? so i think sigrid went to him? which could also explain why he’s Absolutely Oblivious to how powerful she really is, she probably downplayed her own abilities to lower his guard, im assuming? the “trusted” part of it also slays me everytime *ouch my heart*
he had No Fucking Clue
she just waltzs him pretending to submit to his authority or whatever just so she can use his ressources im assuming, the guy probably has a bigass library of old tomes and shit
OKAY I KNOW THIS POST IS LIKE A MONTH OLD BUT I HAVE MORE THOUGHTS™
This is gonna get very headcanon-y but I have my reasonssss
idk how we never mentioned this but Valder received the Gauntlet from a lake, and as far as I can tell, there’s only one lake present in the frozen lands and it’s clearly in Sigrid’s pre-established territory- not Felheim
Before that it’s stated in Valder’s codex that he lived in an isolated coastal town, placing him anywhere around the coasts of the frozen lands
Later said town is razed and he runs away
For years he wanders (until the age of eighteen), and one day he settles for a night in a ruined cottage in the wastes. It’s not stated where this is, until the mention of the orb ‘darting into a wood’ were said wood opened to a ‘vast frozen lake’, clearly being the Lake of Rebirth and the wood in question being to the south of it
The means that during his time of wandering, and more specifically, of receiving the Gauntlet, Valder was in Sigrid’s territory, despite the risks such a place would pose
BASICALLY what I’m trying to say is that maybe Valder doesn’t actually view Vampires and High Vampires as a threat, explaining why it was so easy for Sigrid to join his as a Commander and why he truly trusted her so. In fact if you want to go one further, he may have even lived in her territory originally
Afterall it was the living (most likely humans) and the dead (most likely skeletons) who destroyed his home. Vampires, on the other hand, are by all accounts undead and had nothing to do his past. He even managed to seemingly spend a considerable amount of time in Sigrid’s territory without ever being confronted by her or another vampire
Valder makes it very clear that he cares little about the living. And while the undead played a part in him losing his home, they’re something he can control, which would be why he resents them a lot less. Given that the undead are neither living nor dead, it could be why he has an inherent trust with them (see Sigrid and Ragna) over dead and flesh creatures
I have absolutely NO IDEA IF ANY of that made sense. I just really, really got the urge to ramble about this aslkdhjsajkhd
i LOVE all of this. the idea that his village was in sigrid’s territory, maybe close to the border with felheim, explains why hes managed to grow up in relative peace, before the raiders finally reached them (with how chaotic the dead seemed to be, i wouldnt be surprised that they didnt care much whever they were into vampire territory or not) (and like, we dont know if the border between the two really is clearly defined anyway)
and thinking on how sigrid views humans, i dont think she or vampires in general would have felt threatened by small human villages in their territory. i mean, they’re vampires right? dont they need to, like, feed on people? so yeah, if he grew up in a zone where vampires were a common sight, defo explains why he’s less threatened by them and didnt see sigrid’s betrayal coming
also we dont know when they met so what if sigrid found him not long after he got the gauntlet and was like “hohoho i can manipulate this child for my purposes”. if she’s been with him for a while, even before he made ragna….
you saying he trusts the undead more than the living and the dead absolutely slayed me by the way orz (SHOW MORE RESPECT TO YOUR DAUGHTER YOU SHIT DAD)
Sedge lacks wings, too, meaning not only could he be a Floran Vampire… he could be a Floran High Vampire
he hides his bat ears with his hood

more thoughts on high vampire sedge
so, the florans arrive in aurania about 900 years ago, and im guessing a vampire was like “wonder if i can turn one of these weird plant people”, so sedge is a outlier and noone else had really thought about this i guess? also means sigrid and sedge would be about the same age (in the 900s, altho sigrid probably older than him, cause she’s nearer a millenia). and! considering how sedge is, he probably killed his own master.
ive also been thinking about his master being another floran vampire rather than a human one, and im not sure it makes sense timeline wise cause they say vampires tend to wait a millenia before making more vampires, and as i said before, florans have been here for only 900 years, but also floran vampires may behave differently, so there could be a small hidden vampire community from which sedge originates, so he’d be younger, probably more around 500yrs
Some High Vampire Sedge Thoughts™ Consider this…
Sedge doesn’t know he’s a High Vampire
I think of it like a High Vampire legitimately wanted to find out if a Floran could be successfully converted into a Vampire, so they tried it- and it worked. However within just a few years it was clear to this High Vampire that raising a Floran is incredibly hard to do… when you’re not a Floran. They had no clue and they certainly weren’t about to ask some actual Florans for help
So what do you do when things go awry? Give up, of course. They abandoned Sedge. Didn’t even bother killing him because Sedge was so young anyway they knew it wouldn’t matter in the long run, chances are he would’ve died eventually
And some other stuff idk… I didn’t think this far through. He probably gets picked up by other Floran later. Granted I wonder how he could’ve (theoretically) lived for around about 900 years without any other Floran getting suspicious, because even Greenfinger’s don’t live that long. Perhaps he travelled a lot to avoid suspicion?
High Vampire: *makes sedge, a floran, into a vampire* High Vampire: haha that worked! High Vampire: High Vampire: now what the fuck do i do
look what you’ve done, you’ve ruined a perfectly good floran is what you did, he’s got hunger
Valder: Hey, it’s your turn to wash dishes
Sigrid: I’ll wash the walls red with your blood
Valder: Okay. But before that, wash the dishes, also use soap this time
Mercia: Why are you like this?
Sigrid: Like what? Charming? Devastatingly beautiful? Genius? You’ll have to be more specific
Mercia, deadpan: An asshole
Koji: You have no idea what I’m capable of!
Sigrid: Don’t take it personally, but I feel like I’m being threatened by a cupcake
I’m gonna… sketch some hypothetical Wargroove Commanders
Valder: I know you snuck out last night, Ragna
Ragna: (Play dumb!)
Ragna: Who’s Ragna?
Ragna: (Not that dumb!)
So uhhh I’ve recently started playing Wargroove and once modding support is added I really wanna make a Novakid Faction. I mean I should probably finish story mode first (I haven’t even met the Heavensong Empire yet) but it’s never too early to draw concept art!
(The one with the heart brand is actually a Starbound oc of mine, but I love him so much I think he should be a part of this)
