Who can see whom through a one-way mirror depends on which side is brighter. As light (lumière) fades, a mirror becomes a window, and an illusion breaks.

Ok but hear me out I have a plot bunny for angsty but badass verstave

Gustave is an engineer who created the team's only chroma catalyst tool right ? He understands and use chroma in a very advanced way.

What if instead of dying completely, his chroma managed to latch onto the team.

Then he followed them around, uncorporeal but still conscious. And after a while he might be able to use his own chroma to manifest his presence in the physical world.

After a while he manages to almost appear in the shape of a reversed gommage Swirl of flowers.

Now that would be extremely cool. Just saying 👀

And maybe the only one able to see and hear I'm at first is Verso. Now that would be a great angst plot for them both.

Verso wondering if he's finally going insane. The guilt is catching up and now he's hallucinating the man he left to die.

But as soon as Gustave can materialize in his reverse gommage... Oh this is so much worse.

And now Maëlle has a plan to make Gustave come back. Lune is fascinated and Shield has hope. Sounds like Verso's plans are going awry in no time.

And why is Gustave insisting they find a way to free Verso as well. There is absolutely no way he might have figured a few things out following them around as he did. Digging into the chroma of their world and all the weird different signatures the nevron have...

A restless presence lingers in the empty hallways, burdened by loneliness and craving for kinship. And maybe love too.Meanwhile, in the hidden depths of the manor, something far darker than ghosts awakens…

Gustave being a Dessendre makes me go '!!!!' cause it's just such a neat idea. Alicia is the youngest, then it's Verso being the middle child but we don't know Clea's canon age. she could be anywhere from two years to four years or even more older than Verso.

for this i'll say 28, two years older than Verso seems reasonable. for this 'Gustave is a Dessendre' AU what if Gustave and Clea are twins? they'd do everything together, play with toys, paint Canvases together when they were older enough to Paint, sleep in the same bed until Aline and Renoir managed to get them to sleep in their own rooms, so on and so forth.

Clea of course was the more serious and brash of the two while Gustave was the more quiet, shy and reserved twin. while Gustave liked to Paint he loved engineering. he loved to fix things, wanted to know how it worked and how it was made.

more than once Renoir would find pieces of a clock put into neat little rows on the table while Gustave tinkered away, silently watching as his son expertly put it back together and made it work better. they had to made a new rule for Gustave, no taking apart things in the manor unless you ask Maman or Papa first.

Gustave would join Clea and Verso in Verso's Canvas and when Alicia was born Gustave would read her all of the stories. a home filled with love and laughter until the fire ripped it all apart. now in this AU idk whether or not to have Gustave die or keep things as is. so i guess two branches.

Branch One: it's Gustave who dies saving Alicia, Clea helpless as she watches her twin run into the inferno and she knows the moment he dies because something inside of her dies alongside with him.

things pretty much go the same way as in the game after, Aline looses herself in the Canvas, Renoir goes in to get her out but Verso is the one to takes care of an injured Alicia and protect the house while Clea goes to war with the Writers. Verso even encourages it, he wants vengeance against those that took his kind hearted brother away.

they'd never see him lost in his projects again, never hear his laughter, never seen him bumping into things because he forgot to put his glasses on. but it's Clea who's the angriest, they took her other half away and she's going to show no mercy for those who killed Gustave.

Branch Two: it's just like in the game, Verso dies in the fire, Aline looses herself in the Canvas, Renoir follows and it leaves Clea and Gustave to handle things. Gustave wasn't left unharmed, he lost an arm in the fire but he still tries to take care of an injured Alicia and keep the manor safe while Clea goes to war with the Writers.

Gustave makes himself a new arm, looks after Alicia while she's in the Canvas and is there to take care of their parents when they exit and eventually take care of Alicia when she exits as well ( Verso Ending ). he protects the house and lord have mercy on whoever decides to try and attack the weakened Dessendres because Gustave will not let anyone hurt his family again.

i think i'm leaning towards Branch One more. Clea is already angry in the game that Verso was killed, now just think how much more angry she'd be now that it's her twin, the other half of her soul that died. she's going to go Doom Slayer on the Writers.

1. Favorite character to draw? OH GUSTAVE MAH BOY ! he’s just soooooo pretty and silly and his beautiful eyes have captivated meeee (and of course it’s a brown haired dude with dad energy and a prothesis… what’s wrong with me lmaooo)

2. Least favorite characters to draw? Hmmmm… I’m still learning to draw Cléa and I love her but MAN she’s hard to draw TwT

3. Favorite pairing Verstaveeeeee !!! My newest dolls to play with lmao, I Love when two traumatized dudes get to kiss tenderly <3 

4. Least favorite pairing I don’t have active hate for any pairing but…. I think I can”t really get behind the Verso/Julie Pairing TwT (not that it doesn’t make for a great super toxic pair for those who like this, tho !)

5. Favorite POV and tense Not sure how to change it for drawing, but for my comic I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using Verso’s POV - He’s a drama queen and I love him for it hehe. And I love drawing characters most <3

8. Something you think you're good at Uuuuuuuhhhh I think i’m okay at drawing hair …? Hopefully ? There’s still so much I need to improve tho

But I think I want to find a good workflow , because a full piece can take me between 1 to 14 hours and I still don’t understand whyyyyyy and color theory, too ! I’ve been trying to be more mindful of how I color, but I still have a long way to go. And I SORELY need to get back into anatomy and how to give volume to 2D forms because what the fuck, some stuff I draw is BAD bad ( ; ω ; ) And I really need to learn how to draw backgrounds, too
