When you meet Edward Elric he gives off the impression that he's the short-tempered hot-headed "violence is the answer to all life's questions" kind of protagonist, and it's in fact incredible character craft that he's actually the character who ends the series with a negative-3 kill count.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds

I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study

after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines

et voila

and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)

genuinely made me start questioning my sanity around day 3, it's half the size the of the goose, WHY did it take me 4 days to finish??

nothing but pain and suffering, i'm sure hope the next bird will be much easier and with FAR less barring :)

MHARAAAAAAAAA. My autocorrect on my phone still wants to type your name like that, which I think is a very good indication of just how often your art and general shenanigans make me need to scream in delight.

And AHHHHH this is no exception. Inscription art?! Oh my gosh.

The black and white with gold accents?! It looks so striking. The gold in Gustave's arm, his waistcoat, his glasses, it all ties together so well!

And I'm screaming about this moment in general (we got there! They finally kissed!!) with Gustave's fingers in Verso's hair and Verso pulling Gustave as close as he can? YES. ABSOLUTELY YES.

GUSTAVE'S HAIR! His lovely white hair! I cannot express how delighted it makes me to see it!

I also love the composition of the piece in general? The grey shading of the background, the light coming from the right hand side (go on, boys. Gustave and Verso walk into the light...)

And the details of Verso's uniform look incredible as well, I love how you've drawn his cape and his arm wrap, they look so good!

🩷🩷 Mhara, I am so touched and this is so so gorgeous, I want to eat it forever.
