When they separated a day before Zero Requiem, one had to wear a mask to smile, the other couldn’t even bring himself to smile. It’s great to see how it went from that to this:

Unlike before when Lelouch and C.C. could only share meaningful moments under the night sky, or in isolated rooms, here they’re standing under the bright sun, in public, wearing plain clothings. There’s no Zero/Evil Emperor, no immortal witch, just plain man and woman.

I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m at ease to know that Lelouch and C.C. are together, walking hand-in-hand, sharing both burdens and genuine smiles.
