hey uuuh i've playing MeChat so if you want 30 gems free here you go! use the referral code US-6OU-3YU
I'll be honest, I really don't think it's about Firestar or the name at all.
Nightheart has been pushing his family away for a long time. Squirrelflight held him back from becoming a warrior because she was- rightfully- worried about the dangerous risks he was taking, and he held that against her as her unjustly holding him back because of unreasonably high expectations. Sparkpelt was exiled by Ashfur- who also almost murdered her by the way- and Nightheart's upset about her 'abandoning' him with Finchlight when she had no choice but to leave and honestly if he wanted to be with them he could have gone with them! At one point Squirrelflight asks Sparkpelt to help Nightheart train, which she readily agrees to, but Nightheart immediately insists he doesn't need her help, then takes it as proof she wants nothing to do with him when she respects that! He assumes, for some reason, that Squirrelflight took him to the gathering to publicly humiliate him for some reason! He constantly talks about family being untrustworthy and refuses to show even basic politeness to any of his family members no matter how supportive they try to be.
I don't think "Oh, so you don't like it when your kin turn their back on you?" was about the name! At all! It was about how Nightheart spent moons purposefully choosing to see the worst in everyone in his family and then yelled at them all for apparently mistreating him in public during his naming ceremony without talking to any of them about any of it beforehand.
Obviously people can have any name they want for any reason they want, but that doesn't mean there isn't a right way to go about changing your name, and meeting your entire family with hostility over the name you never told them you didn't like and publicly condemning them for the name they gave you after moons of pushing them away and only seeing the worst in them is not the right way to go about it! Of course his family was upset?! It's not about the name!
The growing radicalization in ShadowClan
As directly as you can possibly state this without dropping a term the cats wouldn't know, Berryheart is canonically xenophobic.
It's very likely that she picked up this fear from her experiences with the Kin, and she's now using this belief to justify every reactionary response she has to the code changing, her discomfort with outsiders, and her general fear of uncertainty.
Berryheart and her clique have invented a political term to frame the idea of changing clans in a bad light. This is comparable to the way you might hear a conservative using the word "Illegal Alien" instead of migrant or expat
And, much like how the conservative applies this to migrants they don't like such as brown ones, Berryheart does not apply the derogatory label "clan-swapper" to people she does like, such as Dovewing.
Not yet, at least. We all know how these things tend to go.
So next, Sunbeam finds herself at what can be compared to a political rally. We saw in River that their toxic rhetoric has already made more level-headed people such as Tawnypelt drop out of the clique entirely, and now Sunbeam is the only voice of reason in what is otherwise an echo chamber.
She thinks that she can reach them by being diplomatic, the way that in an argument you can calm someone down a bit by showing them that you're listening. She does not realize that these cats have been radicalized. They jump on her concession like it's a weakness.
This is a frighteningly real scenario. Sunbeam has been so focused on the drama of her personal life that her friends and family have suddenly become people she doesn't recognize.
What was once some people getting together to gripe about how change is scary has been mobilized into an irrational, motivated hate group.
Sunbeam can't reason with them, she can't fight them, and at this point in the book, she also can't bring herself to abandon them.
Should You Listen to EATEOT?
Making yet another post warning people about Everywhere at the End of Time (EATEOT)
LIST OF DONâTs:
- Donât listen to it if youâre faint of heart or sensitive.
- Donât listen to it if you have a fear of age, forgetting, sickness / disease, or death.
- Donât listen to it if youâre mentally or emotionally in a bad place.
Special note: people with depression, anxiety, autism, schizophrenia, and similar disorders tend to be more impacted by EATEOT, from what Iâve seen. Even completely neurotypical people have experienced paranoia and intense psychological distress from listening.
- Donât listen if youâre prone to paranoia or hallucinations.
- Donât listen to it if you know someone currently dying of old age, dementia, Alzheimerâs, etc.
- Donât listen to it all at once, give yourself breaks. (The original albums were released 6 months apart, so it was intended to be listened to in pieces.)
- Donât listen to it in the dark, in the evening, or at night.
- Donât listen to it alone.
- Donât listen to it in the same place you sleep. Sleep in a room? Listen to it in the kitchen or living room.
- Donât listen under the influence. Donât listen to it drunk or high. Do not listen while / after consuming alcohol, while / after smoking weed, while / after taking hallucinogens, or while / after taking any other kind of drug, including caffeine!
- Donât listen while tired, falling asleep, or napping.
- Donât listen while ill or sick, including if youâre constipated or during your menstrual cycle. (Yes, Iâm serious. Gut health can effect emotional and psychological states!)
Some heads ups:
- Most stages contain audio distortion, lots of noise, and droning sounds. It gets worse as the stages and tracks go on. If you have issues with certain sounds or noises, especially white noises, crackling, popping, etc. you might want to avoid EATEOT.
- Stage 2 is incredibly depressing, but was the easiest for me to get through. A lot of people consider it their favorite, from what Iâve seen. Itâs less frightening and more somber than the others.
- Stage 3 (especially late stage 3) and onward sound less like music and more like ambient songs from Silent Hill.
- Stages 4 & 5 contain a lot of jumbled noise and some âmusical jumpscaresâ.
- Stage 6 is mostly white noise until the last 5 or so minutes, another sort-of musical jumpscare.
- Itâs honestly a kind of boring experience. It can be scary, but once you get past the horror, itâs just⌠well, itâs 6 and a half hours of ambient music. Not everyone likes it, so donât worry if itâs not your thing.
If you canât handle it, donât force yourself. Please. If you canât finish it, donât worry! EATEOT isnât for everyone and youâre not weak, stupid, or anything bad because you canât finish it!
Feel free to reblog and add your own tips, if you like. I hope this could help someone!
Iâm not a professional or anything, but I wanted to help other people potentially avoid a negative experience. My inbox is open if you want to scream into it. I canât say Iâll have any good advice or any answers you need, but it is there if you have any questions.
just realized i used this PSA as a fucking checklist lmao
I'm a sensitive autistic with anxiety with severe fear of death, prone to paranoia, who listened to the while piece at once at night(ending at midnight).
Thank goodness i watched it through a livestream with all other people, otherwise i'd be dead and buried. Nevertheless, i really do not recommend that other people do the same, i was left extremely paranoid and distressed, obly calmed down after i talked to my friend for 2 hours.
Everywhere at the end of time is an experience that everyone should at least try to do, i came out a changed person, but always be aware of your own limitations
Gonna analyze the JP rexâs behavior because fuck it
Okay for my first post on Tumblr I decided Iâm gonna go on an analysis of Rexyâs behavior during the first Jurassic Parkâs breakout scene because why the hell not. Donât worry Iâm a biologist in training, I know what Iâm talking about (not really).
Okay, first a dumb nitpick. The iconic scene with the water tremors is⌠Really not what would happen. The T.rex is big, but not so big to make the ground literally shake. Elephants are well known to sneak up on people with ease and theyâre just a bit smaller than a T.rex.
With that out of the way, the actual breakout scene: She rips out the wires, steps out and gives us the money shot with a cool pose and a mighty roar⌠Except not quite. She first takes a look around, THEN she lets out that iconic roar we all love. If you ask me, I think sheâs probably announcing her presence. Sheâs knowingly leaving her territory and entering an area she doesnât know, so she checks if that spot is already taken by telling any other potential Tyrannosaurs sheâs coming through.
Oh, but then the mayhem starts! Nope, she just⌠Leaves. Thereâs no immediate response, so sheâs got green light to just explore this new environment. Really, she didnât actually want anything to do with humans, at most she nudged the car out of curiosity. Everyone would have made it safe and soundâŚ
Until Lex turns the god damn light on. I guess she was trying to catch Alan and Ianâs attention? Which good job girl, you also caught the attention of a 7 ton predator. Way to gp.
So good old Rexy decides to investigate, and curiously she just seems to be generally aware that the light is coming from somewhere around the area since sheâs not really looking at the car.
That is until Tim closes the door.
Well kids, you got her full attention now. So she starts inspecting the car. Like, really inspecting it, sniffing it around to try and get a good sense of what this weird, shiny thing is.
And thatâs when she sees thereâs something inside. I donât think she fully understands thereâs food in there yet, sheâs probably still seeing the car as a whole, but thereâs definitely something weird about it, so she roars and tries to get a reaction.
Then she sees the kids moving inside, and she nudges the car. Thatâs when the kids start screaming and moving all erratically, with Tim trying to wrestle the light out of his sisterâs hands and screaming at her to turn it off.
Of course Rexy is seeing and hearing all of it, and thatâs when she realizes thereâs definitely food in there, plus all that sudden movement and screaming must be sending her predatory instincts into overdrive.
And have you ever seen any video or photo of a big cat in a zoo trying to get a treat out of one of those enrichment balls?
Yeah.
Luckily for the kids thereâs a thick enough panel of glass between them and those banana sized teeth, so she canât get them that way. But thatâs fine of course, because thereâs always plan B. Whatâs plan B you ask?
Well flip the car over of course. The top of the thing is armored, so maybe its underside will be softer? Thatâs how a lot of animals work, thereâs a reason predators start eating their preyâs guts a lot of the time, so the logic is sound.
She then bites the tire too, Iâm guessing out of curiosity or trying to test different spots. Of course the tire gets completely pierced by the teeth, freeing a lot of air⌠And making noise, which catches Rexyâs attention⌠And makes her bite it again.
She gets completely side tracked by the tire and starts trying to tear it off, and I honestly think here sheâs just playing and has completely forgotten about the snack.
Not that the kids are in any less peril anyways, with an animal the size of an elephant crushing the car theyâre currently trapped in with its sheer size alone. Thankfully Alanâs quick thinking and knowledge of animal behavior are here to save the day!
He grabs a flare and lights it on. This catches Rexyâs attention, because new weird sparkly thing. Then, he throws the flare back into the paddock, and Rexy follows it because she really wants to check out what the hell that new weird thing is. Thatâs it folks, the day is saved!
Right. For some reason, Ian decides to grab another flare and light it up too. This obviously catches Rexyâs attention because hey, another weird sparkly thing! Then Ian starts running with the flare, and throws the flare while running. The thing is, the point of the flare is giving Rexy a new target to check out, but if you start running and screaming then you become a target. A target that acts an awful lot like prey at that.
So Ian runs straight to the toilet for some reason, and Rexy lunges at him, running her head straight into the small hut because letâs be real, that thing wouldnât be able to withstand a full charge of something that big lol.
Anyways, the whole thing comes crashing down, leaving poor Gennaro exposed. Now something thatâs interesting here is that she doesnât instantly eat him, she actually checks him out at first! Sheâs actually curious about him, tilting her head like a quizzical dog.
And eats him. So long for the whole âwonât see you if you donât moveâ thing I guess.
Fortunately Gennaro being eaten alive gives Grant enough time to get Lex out of the car (which he would have had even if Ian hadnât tried to be a hero anyways but I digress), but before he can get Tim, Lex screams. This obviously catches Rexyâs attention, who must be having the time of her life with all this stimulation and she comes back to the car.
We get this scene where sheâs supposedly not seeing Grant and Lex because theyâre not moving, but IIRC the Lost World novel retconned that to her just not being hungry anymore and honestly Iâm gonna roll with that because even if she didnât see them thereâs no way she didnât smell them. I think she just lost interest in humans after eating a goat and a lawyer, especially when she has a much bigger toy right there!
I honestly think sheâs not even trying to get Tim out and eat him anymore, the way I see it sheâs just playing around with the car, pushing it around and generally just dicking around with it for the hell of it.
Then she pushes it off a magically appearing cliff like your cat knocking over that one glass at the edge of your kitchen table, either because she wants to get rid of the used toy or simply because she thinks itâs funny. Or because Spielberg didnât tell her there was suddenly a cliff where she had just walked off. Then she gives one final roar to the camera, which is probably just for cinematic effect tbh.
So⌠Yeah, thatâs all. As you can see, one of the best things of the scene is that the T.rex is⌠Just an animal. Itâs not a movie monster going on a rampage, everything it does is completely normal animal behavior. This is big part of what makes the scene just so good and tense. It just feels real, you can actually believe the protagonists are being put in danger by a wild animal. Because, at the end of the day, thatâs what dinosaurs are. Just animals.
Unlike mister âwants to watch the world burnâ over here.

Amphibia - The Breaking of the Cycle
There are so many topics that I want to discuss about Leifâs letter scene, but if I had a moment to pick it would be the way Andrias was handled throughout the whole thing.
Because for a story about change, growth, and unconditional love, this moment pulls the full stops and combines everything we know about Andriasâs narrative to an amazing peak, and it all comes down to a few things this story had established before the finale.
That Andrias, out of everyone, has always been integrated into the past whether he liked it or not.
