ust deleted TT off my phone because the Big Back ~joke and normalized thinspo are fucking everywhere and it feels like 2009 tumblr over there like I keep blocking users on my fyp when I see this shit or tap not interested but apparently there’s so much of it I can’t keep it off my feed and I’m having nasty little thoughts like I used to when I was 15 on here following proana blogs because I DIDNT HAVE AN ED I just wanted TIPS on how to not eat all day AND MOTIVATION for my totally reasonable normal healthy goal of having a thigh gap and basement BMI like I’m scared for this next gen of girls women people who are having this content casually mixed into their fyps under the guise of a big back joke like idk i know we’ve always fatphobic in a societal sense but I had to go looking for this shit online and at least now I have alarm bells ringing in my head saying GET OUT every time I come across it but clearly I’m triggered and my defense systems are imperfect so I’m taking a TT break now maybe forever cause I’m actually hoping my ED doesn’t return for active duty ty so much

Mercy

Once, we were grilling zucchini from the garden. It was summertime and I was about to leave you. A praying mantis landed on the grill. He was bright and beautiful even as he fizzled and I burned all my fingertips trying to save him. You can't tell when an insect is in pain but he must have been and you put him in the grass so softly where I found and stomped him. And I think it surprised us what we each defined as mercy.

pretty wild I was just looking through my old posts on here for a lil walk down memory lane and uhm I know that I’m recovering from a years long ed but nothing makes one contend with that reality more than seeing old pictures and I really just want to give younger me a hug they were so stressed and sad and I certainly still struggle with both of those things but I struggle a lot less with feeding myself and that gives me more energy to approach the rest of life with grace and honestly there’s a lot of days where I feel like not much has changed and I’m just spinning my wheels but this helped me remember how much has changed and how i have tried to better care for myself over the last five+ years and saying that is wild cause some of it feels like lifetimes ago but alas I was kinda shocked to see old pictures of myself and I have nothing but compassion for that person and I hope I can nurture a practice of extending compassion to myself in the present and not just in the past
