Listen he gets it. You’re a first-time wife, a first-time mom. It’s your first time juggling a job and a small family of three with him.

But it’s his first time too. He’s a first-time husband, a first-time dad. The first time he’s ever felt this way for someone.

You’ve made him a feel a plethora of things—his heart growing three times bigger than the size of his chest, the warm tingle of his fingertips, the overwhelming flush he feels when you look at him so tenderly, the comforting lull of your presence, the boundless courage to do anything for you and your family—

Right now, he has this agitated, petty longing for you to just look at him. Yes, him, Jeon Wonwoo, your husband. It was pressing at him all week.

One morning, you were prepping both your breakfast and packed lunch. Yegeon sits on his high chair, busying himself with a mess of mashed carrots and a sippy cup of milk. Wonwoo is finishing up the putting the dishes away while you’re making an elaborate yet careful design on your husband’s lunch.

Patting his hands dry, Wonwoo turns around, noticing how his son’s stubby fingers struggle to reach for the bottle he’s knocked over.

“Aigo, Yegeon-ah,” he coos, righting the sippy cup and handing it Yegeon. The little boy babbles incoherently, pursing his pink lips over the cup. Wonwoo fondly smiles, caressing his son’s head before pressing a kiss over his thick short hair.

Yegeon, is nearly a spitting image of his appa when he was a toddler. Full cheeks, dark eyes, and a sharp cupid’s bow. It was still too early to tell, but when Wonwoo looks closely, Yegeon seems to have more of your eye shape and nose. The thought makes him giddy, to see a manifestation of your love—half you and half him.

You’re still focused on portioning the banchan when Wonwoo walks over to you. His arms wind across your waist and he leans down to kiss your temple. You’re both smelling like fried egg, coffee, and faintly of your fabric conditioner. It smells like slow mornings before you both have to eventually rush out the door the minute your mother arrives to look after Yegeon. You smile, tilting your head towards him before softly meeting his lips in a loving kiss. Parting from each other, Wonwoo nuzzles into the crook of your neck while you close the lids and pack them into the insulated lunch bags. Just as he slowly melts into your presence, there’s a loud clatter on the floor.

Instantly, you pull away from him when you see that your baby had dropped his sippy cup yet again.

Wonwoo is left cold and he unconsciously pouts when you do. He’s immediately embarrassed though, because he knows he’d drop anything he’s doing when it came to his son. But he couldn’t help it. Between juggling parenting a toddler, working, and fighting to stay a functioning civilian, he’s missed you.

You had texted him later that day, telling him you had to go on an emergency over time so he didn’t have to pick you up after work. The demand for your attention at work had increased lately, which meant you came home tired with only enough energy to mother and get ready for bed. Wonwoo did his part in taking care of most things like bathing Yegeon, prepping him for bed, cleaning up, and looking after your son when he wakes up in the middle of the night. He did anything he could do to ease your mind, anything that did not involve the kitchen that is. Luckily, your mother loved cooking and would often leave food that unintentionally would last you both three days.

So, when the sound of the passcode to your home beeps, his head and Yegeon’s head comically perks up from the carpeted floor where they were playing. Wonwoo turns to his son with bright eyes, and as if understanding his appa’s silent message, he lifts his chubby arms up towards him. He picks him up with ease and pads to the doorway.

They find you kicking off your shoes, shoulders sagging with exhaustion as you call out tiredly, “I’m home!”

You lift your head to find both your husband and your baby at his hip watching you with warm smiles. It’s an amusing difference of size with Wonwoo’s shoulders dwarfing the toddler in his arms. It does wonders to your weary soul that you give a crooked smile, and open your arms.

“Oh, baby, I missed you.”

Wonwoo grins broadly and lifts his free arm to bring you into a welcoming embrace.

To his surprise, however, its left hanging in the air as you reach for Yegeon and lift him into your arms, cooing and pressing giddy kisses into his plump cheeks.

“Have you been good to halmeoni, hm, Yegeon-ah?” you cuddle him to your chest when the boy just sputters and giggles, “Of course, you have!”

Wonwoo is left standing there by the door way, as you walk over to the living room. He blinks once, then twice until he frowns and begrudgingly follows after you.

Your parents come over two days later to pick up Yegeon and his baby bag full of necessities that would last him three nights. You had been reluctant to agree when Wonwoo first suggested the much-needed rest but eventually caved in till the cheeky bastard purposefully mentioned it in front of your mother. Your mother was more than happy to take Yegeon before she went on a tangent on how you should take better care of yourself and how investing in yourself and your husband would help you accommodate your child better.

You sigh, giving your husband a nasty side eye before conceding with a quietly admitting that you needed the break too right after all the hullaballoo at work. Wonwoo made you agree to promptly leave work and refuse overtime so you could maximize rest at home.

Wonwoo gets it when he reminds himself, you’re a first-time mom and it’s your first time being away from your son. He really does.

But why was he begrudgingly staring at your profile from the opposite end of the couch while you’re busy typing away at your phone. You had just gotten off the phone with him to videocall your parents to check on Yegeon. Yet you were still constantly texting instructions and details to your mother as if she didn’t raise you and your brother’s stubborn asses.

Deciding he’s had enough, he unceremoniously plops his head into your lap. You grunt in surprise, but you barely spare him a glance as you’re typing rapid fire questions on your phone. He frowns, finding some boldness in his agitation as he tugs your sleeve.

“Darling, they’ll be fine. Yegeon loves his grandparents and they know what they’re doing.”

You hum, still typing away that he wonders if you heard him. Huffing, he swiftly gets up, only to lift you by the waist then tackle you back down into the couch. His whole bodyweight rests above you as he cages you tightly in his arms. You yelp his name, dropping your phone in the process.

“What are you doing?!”

He says nothing, instead, your husband just nuzzles into your collarbone. The soft strands of his dark hair tickles your jaw and the suddenness of it all makes you giggle, “What’s gotten into you?”

He still doesn’t reply, pulling you even closer to him. You sigh, wriggling your arms out to properly accommodate him into your embrace. Your arms wrap around his shoulder blades and you proceed to caress the broad expanse of his back.

“Big baby,” you tease before kissing his hair. He only grunts, relaxing into your touch.

Big baby.

Big-

A sudden realization sparks in your mind and your husband feels it from the hitch of your breath and halting of your ministrations.

“Baby?” you say, twisting your arms so you could cup his cheeks and coax him to look at you. Wonwoo barely raises his head to see the teasing glint in your eyes.

“Baby, did you just want me to yourself?”

His face remains stoic, but you know your husband well enough to tell what the purse of his lips and the flush of his ears mean. You bite back your laughter, “You’ve got to be kidding me, Jeon Wonwoo.”

He huffs, dropping his forehead back into your chest and groaning when he feels the vibrations of your body as you laugh.

“You’re competing with your own child!”

Wonwoo is already embarrassed as he is, still he manages to lightly pinch your sides and mumble, “It’s not just Yegeon I’m competing with.”

He only meant it as a defense but then you fall silent and hum. Your fingers are gently running through his hair, nails pleasantly scratching his scalp as he falls into the rhythm of your breath.

“Oh, Wonwoo, I’m sorry. I’ll do more to balance everything on my plate,” you apologize softly.

Wonwoo lifts his head, resting on his elbows as he looks at you tenderly. “Darling, it’s not that. I really appreciate all you do for us.”

His hand reaches up to brush the locks of hair away from your face, “But I want you to remember that you don’t have to do more than you can. You don’t have to. I’m here…our families are here. They love Yegeon so much. We’re going to be fine. You don’t need to do more.”

You gaze at him wide eyed for a moment then the bottom of your lip juts out and your eyes gloss over.

“You’re amazing,” you breathe out, “I love you so much.”

Smiling, he holds your cheek, “You do?”

You raise a mock offended brow at him, “Of course, I do.”

Wonwoo hums, tracing the delicate skin beneath your eyes before he leans down to sweetly kiss each eye.

“Well, then you can show me,” he flops his head back down to your chest and brings your hand to his back like he was demanding you coddle him.

Your laughter rings beautifully in the air, resting your head back on the cushions you smile contentedly.

“Big baby.”

“Your big baby.”

(a/n: hiya! one day i will be consistent... today is not that day lol I'm considering doing a part two but I'm not sure just yet! As always requests are open!)

The summer heat hit your skin as soon as you stepped out of your apartment, the warmth comforting you a little. Summertime was your favorite time of the year, between pool parties, rooftop bars and late night escapades you were always finding something to get into. The only thing that you disliked, no hated, about summer was that it always made you think of him.

Fuckin Kim Hongjoong.

You were supposed to keep it casual, nothing serious, no strings. But of course you broke that rule early on thinking you could push your feelings down like you always did. You’d spent two summers in each other’s beds and it was some of the best nights you’d ever had. You two seemed to understand each other in ways that no one else did and you missed that feeling more than you ever cared to admit. The fact that you both were trainees but mostly the fact that you were at a company that was adamantly against their trainees dating, you knew that what you had couldn’t last.

THREE YEARS AGO

“So, you’re not even willing to hear me out?” you sighed as you ran your hand through your hair for what seemed like the millionth time today.

“We said ‘no strings’,” Hongjoong spit as he gathered his clothes from your bedroom floor, “and these feel like strings.”

“I didn’t know asking you to not openly flirt in front of me was strings,” you rolled your eyes, as you pulled a tshirt over your head, “I just figured it was basic decency but okay, whatever.”

“‘No, strings. No feelings. Just sex.’ That’s what we agreed on,” he said with a huff, “we’re friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend.”

“Well, with friends like you, who needs friends.” you shook your head as you left the room not wanting to look at him. You needed water and air now because the amount of tension in the room was absolutely suffocating.

“So what,” he said following you into the kitchen, “that’s it? We’re just not friends anymore?”

You stopped mid-pour, setting down the pitcher in your hand mainly out of fear of dropping it from how much your hands were shaking. You took a deep breath, you were prepared to lose your best friend at this point because losing him would be better than this.

Losing him would be easier than holding onto something that was so very one sided. Losing him would be easier than putting yourself through the endless torture of the sympathetic looks the boys would give you when you see Hongjoong chatting up someone else at the bar when you all would go out. Losing him would be easier than pretending that he didn’t rip a piece of your heart out every time he told you he loved you while you two were laying in each other's arms.

You don’t know when it became more than sex for you, in fact there was part of you deep, deep down that hoped that this whole situation would help him see you in a new light but that clearly wasn’t the case.

“Hongjoong,” you sighed, not being able to look him, “we haven’t been friends for a long time now and you know it.”

He nodded. That’s all, just nodded and made his way to the door.

And just like that he walked out of your apartment and out of your life. He gave up before you even had a chance to begin, and that’s probably the part that hurt the worst.

But that was almost three years ago and you knew it was time to move on.

So you did.

You focused on perfecting your art and became one of the most successful female producers in your age group.

You were ready to take on the world but first you were going to party with some of your closest friends.

The rooftop party was in full swing by the time you had arrived. Your friends always knew how to throw bangers, just crazy enough to be memorable but nothing that would warrant a visit from the police. Tonight was a special occasion, the return of the Ateez boys. Even though you produced for HYBE now, you still kept in touch with most of the people you’d been trained with and that included one of the biggest boy bands in the world.

“Y/N!” you heard a deep voice boom from behind you.

You turned to see a now honey blonde Mingi charging towards you, arms extended and his usual gummy grin.

“Hey, Mingi!” you smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck.

You always enjoyed spending time with Mingi. His personality was so unique to anyone you’d ever met and he was always up to have a good time. You were probably the closest to him out of all of the boys, next to Hongjoong. Even after things with you and Hongjoong ended he’d always made an effort to check up on you now and then.

“You look great,” he smiled wide, spinning you around, “how’ve you been?”

“I’ve been great, Mr. World Famous Superstar,” you chuckled, giving his shoulder a light shove, “still producing and writing. not too much, ya know? I’ve actually got some pretty big news.”

“You’re finally gonna give me a shot?” he teased, giving you a thumbs up.

“Yes, you dweeb,” you said flatly, rolling your eyes, “I’m madly in love with you and have been for a long time.”

“Knew it,” he said with a wink, “but for real, what is it?”

“Well,” you took a deep breath, “I’ve actually been working on a mixtape. I’m pitching it at the beginning of the week!”

“You’re kidding!” he bellowed, hugging you again tightly, “congratulations, love!”

“Thanks! It’s not a sure thing yet, but at least I get to pitch it.”

“I told you,” he chuckled, “you should’ve done more Idol training! You would’ve been amazing.”

“Yeah,” you sigh, “but you know what kind of music I wanted to do. I wouldn’t have been able to do that if I had.”

“Maybe,” he shrugged as he handed you a drink, “you know who said the same thing?”

You rolled your eyes at him again. Yes, you knew who said pretty much the same thing all those years ago and you weren’t about to say his name.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

“Have you seen him yet?” he asked as he took a sip from his cup, watching you intently over the top of it. You knew he was gauging your reaction, just like any of the boys would in this situation

“Mingles,” you laughed, shaking your head, “you’re the first person I’ve seen tonight.”

He put his hands up in defense and giggled, “I was just checking.”

“Okay, okay,” you laughed, trying to ease the tension, “I need whatever you’re having but ya know, stronger,”

“I can hold my liquor now,” Mingi huffed, “thank you very much!”

He grabbed you by the hand and you both made your way to the corner where drinks were being poured. What you didn’t know was that there was a pair of eyes trailing you from the opposite end of the busy rooftop.

“You know that could’ve been you, right?” Seonghwa prodded, bringing Hongjoong out of his very obvious trance.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Hongjoong sighed, shaking his head as he took the red mystery cup from Seonghwa’s hand.

“Sure you don’t, tough guy,” Seonghwa rolled his eyes.

Being the oldest and the one the boys, and you at one time, would go to for advice he knew everything. He knew the feelings you were harboring for your then best friend. He knew that Hongjoong was struggling with his feelings for you but then overcompensating in the worst ways.

He also knew how Mingi felt about you.

“He likes her, ya know,” the eldest said nonchalantly as he took a sip from his cup as he watched you and Mingi fall back into the comfortable banter you always had.

“Everyone does, it’s Y/N,” Hongjoong said with a pensive sigh.

“No, you fucking moron,” Seonghwa shook his head yet again, “he likes her. Like the way she used to like you. He never made a move out of respect for you. He knew about your little thing that was going on and knew that if it came down to the two of you Y/N would have chosen you at the time.”

Hongjoong just stood there, eyes big at the new information.

“I-I didn’t,” he stuttered.

“Yeah, I know. No one did because it’s fucking Mingi. He’d rather suffer in silence and see his friends happy together than get greedy and go after someone who he might not have a shot with but it looks like he might have a shot now though.”

They turned their attention to the two of you, Mingi’s chin resting comfortably on your shoulder, his arms around your waist as you listened to Wooyoung chatter about his AOTM stage. You two looked like you just fit together. Hongjoong felt a pang in his chest when you looked up at Mingi and smiled. You truly looked at him like he hung the stars and he reciprocated that look right back at you, something Hongjoong had never been able to do, at least not at times you would notice.

As if you knew you were being spoken about, you looked in the direction of the two oldest boys immediately making eye contact with Hongjoong. You gave him a cordial smile and wave before taking Mingi by the hand and plopping yourselves down on the couches by Jongho and Yunho.

“I fucked up so bad,” Hongjoong sighed.

“Yeah,” Seonghwa mused, “you did. And there’s no going back from that now.”

“Harsh much?” Hongjoong quipped in annoyance.

“I’m not gonna lie to you and tell you that what you did was okay. She was your best friend, Joong and you walked out on her. Not the other way around. So no, you don’t get to be pitied in this situation. You wanna do right by her? Start by being a good friend with no ulterior motive. Be supportive, be there. That’s the best I’ve got right now.”

You looked happy now, Hongjoong couldn’t deny that.

Maybe this was for the best.

At least that’s what he’d tell himself until he believed it himself.

“why don’t we get married in las vegas?” 

you looked over at your boyfriend who was doing his usual gaming business, while you laid on the bed upside down with your head hanging down from the edge of the bed, bored out of your mind. 

“whatever you want baby,” he sighed, clearly not paying attention to what you had just said. your boyfriend wasn’t the type to make rash decisions, especially when it came to something as important as marriage, hell - he was scared of getting married, so it was clear as day that he was ignoring you.  

you pursed your lips, and rolled your eyes annoyed. your plan on pranking wonwoo clearly wasn’t working, and sadly that was your last idea of keeping yourself occupied while your boyfriend was busy playing cute cat games instead of spending time with you. 

“it’s not like we need a guest list, right?” 

he only hummed in agreement, still not paying much attention to your words. 

“mingyu could be the groomsman,” you kept talking to yourself, twirling one of your hair strands around your finger. “oh, and we could get matching tattoos! that’d be so much-” 

“we could get what?” wonwoo turned around in his chair at the speed of light, looking at you with pure horror in his eyes.

“seriously? out of everything i’ve been saying for the past twenty minutes that’s what you chose to hear?” you huffed, and pulled yourself up to sit properly on the bed, fixing the sleeves of the sweater you stole from him.  

“chose to hear?” he tilted his head, and took off his headphones, looking at you with the biggest puppy eyes. now he’s giving you the full attention. bastard. “i’ve been listening to you for the whole time, honey.” 

liar. 

“okay,” you smiled innocently, walking over to where he was sitting. two can play this game. “so who do you want to be your groomsman? i was thinking mingyu, but you know,” you sighed dramatically, cupping his cheek. “maybe you don’t agree with me, maybe you want someone else.” 

you plopped down on his lap, still cupping his cheek to make sure his eyes were on you, although that wasn’t really necessary anymore. wonwoo was looking at you with big, scared eyes with his glasses at the tip of his nose. it seemed that the word “groomsman” had caught his attention now.  

“and after the wedding we could get matching tattoos,” your hands quickly found their way into his hair that was getting so long. not that you were complaining. “as a wedding gift,” you smiled sweetly at him, kissing his nose. 

even though his eyes were screaming send help, your boyfriend looked like the cutest bean ever. sometimes it was worth being a menace. 

“baby you know i love you,” he said slowly, obviously trying to figure out how to tell you that he did in fact not want to get married in las vegas without hurting your feelings. “and you know i’d do anything for you,” he continued, mirroring you and cupping your cheek as well. 

“but don’t you think it’s a bit too soon to think about marriage? and no offense, but i don’t want mingyu to be my groomsman,” he swallowed nervously waiting for your reaction. 

wonwoo frowned as you bursted out laughing, your whole body literally shaking. you buried your face in his neck, and wrapped your arms tightly around his broad shoulders. “why are you laughing? stop making fun of me,” you could hear the cute pout in his voice, something that happened a lot more lately. 

“i’m not making fun of you, i promise,” you cooed, kissing his cheek. “i was just trying to get your attention.”

“why didn’t you just tap me on the shoulder or something? you really scared me with all of that marriage talk!” he exclaimed, trying his best to look offended. 

“and where’s the fun in that, hm?” you smiled and tilted your head. “besides, you heard only the last part of my “marriage talk”, jeon wonwoo, so don’t be a baby about it.” 

he sighed, running his thumb over your cheek. “sorry i wasn’t paying attention to you, i jus-” 

“it’s okay,” you laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. “i was just bored, and in a mood to annoy you. don’t worry about the whole marriage thing, i was just joking. besides, las vegas is the last place we’re getting married,” you bumped your nose with his, and heard him exhale in relief. 

“you know,” he murmured, placing a kiss on the top of your head. “valentine's day is coming up and i have a few days off from work then, and you've always wanted to see paris, so maybe instead of the wedding in las vegas, we could fly to paris for a few days?” 

you placed your chin on his chest looking up at him. “what did i do to deserve you?” 

“i’m asking myself the same question everyday.” 

you both stared at each other for a moment before you both burst out laughing again.

"that was so corny, jeez," you snorted, finally adjusting your boyfriend's glasses, pushing them further up his nose. wonwoo just shook his head and kissed your cheek.

“but if i'm being honest," he said shyly. "no matter how much i fear marriage, i can't wait for the day when we share the last name,” wonwoo cupped your cheeks again, pulling your face to his until his lips were hovering over yours.

wonwoo had always thought that his days off meant relaxation. he could play games for as late as he wanted, run to the local convenience store to grab instant noodles in between games, and laze around the house. and it especially meant one thing: that he could sleep in as late as he wanted, and just roll around in his sheets until the sun shone far too bright through the curtains.

with how fast-paced his life was, his slow mornings were his break from the reality of the world spinning around him. his way to decompress and center himself. after all, there always seemed to be something else that he had to do, or remember to do, or think about doing in the future.

but since he met you, his mornings started a bit differently.

wonwoo didn't know when he fell asleep, but he did know that he had fallen asleep with you tucked in his side, and that he had been playing the ends of your hair to fall asleep. feeling the sunlight hit his face, he reached out before feeling the empty spot next to him, still warm.

you couldn't have been up for that long then, he thought to himself

grabbing the throw blanket off the bed, he walked to the kitchen and was hit with the smell of pancakes wafting through the hallway. you had your back turned to him, busy intently watching to make sure none of your precious pancakes got burned. as he approaches you from behind he hears your quietly humming to yourself, most likely as not to wake him from the nearby bedroom.

"you abandoned me, how could you", wonwoo says as he wraps the two of you in the fluffy blanket. "i woke up all alone with no one to cuddle"

you laugh, the sound like wind chimes to his ears. "oh you big baby, i was going to wake you up once i finished making the pancakes"

"you could've woken me up when you woke up you know, i'm good at making pancakes too" wonwoo replies. "do you not trust in my pancake making abilities?"

you tilt your head to the side, fake contemplating. "hmm not really" but the small laugh after you say it confirms that you had no bite in that sentence. "i just wanted you to be able to sleep in, i know how much you like doing that on your days off"

wonwoo has a small smile on his face - you know him all too well. peppering small kisses to your cheeks, he says "well next time you better wake me up, so that we can have a pancake making competition! i can't have you thinking i make inferior pancakes"

you murmur a small "ok baby", eyes still focused on the pancakes in front of you.

what he doesn't tell you is his underlying thoughts: wake me so i can see you in the morning, wake me so i can be near you whenever, wake me so that i can see you making pancakes, laughing light like a fairy when you accidentally burn one.

(wonwoo doesn't think life would ever give him enough mornings with you, wrapped in his arms, peppering lazy kisses to your face. so he wants nothing more than to spend all those precious moments awake and by your side)

orange peel theory is making it's rounds on local tiktok and twitter. this is my humorous take on how the HIP HOP UNIT discuss/deal with the orange peel theory with their significant others.

"would you peel this for me?" she placed a tangerine on his desk – not caring if he was in the middle of playing his video games.

without having to ask twice, seungcheol hid his character behind a container, away from his opponents shots and reached for the fruit. "cover me, wonwoo." he mumbled into the mic, peeling the citrus with ease. "just one?"

y/n smiled as he handed the fruit back to her. "just one."

"that's so small. get another." seungcheol nodded over to the kitchen.

"no this is fine." she shook her head, happy with the results.

he probably thought she was hungry, and considering dinner was hours away, seungcheol knew it would not be enough to hold her off.

standing from his seat, he made his way to the bag of cuties they had purchased at the store – peeling two more.

"that's enough." she laughed, stopping him from peeling a third one.

WONWOO

"baby?"

"hm?" he responded from the other side of the couch, preoccupied with his mobile game.

"would you peel an orange for me?"

wonwoo glanced up, looking behind her to see an empty counter top – a place where they usually kept their fruits.

locking his phone, wonwoo bounded for the door – leaving his girlfriend confused. "where are you going?"

"getting oranges." he replied, as if it was the most obvious response – grabbing his keys off of the hook.

"wait–" y/n laughed, walking over to him. "it was hypothetical."

wonwoo's head tilted to the side, puzzled by the point she was trying to make. "why would it be hypothetical? you asked meaning you want it. it's okay i can get–"

"baby it's a tiktok trend." she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"to ask if i would peel an orange?" he asked slowly.

"they said if you would peel an orange for your significant other, you would do any mundane task for the–"

"i need you to understand i'd peel the earth for you."

throwing her head back, she let out another laugh. she knew he was joking but his delivery had sent her over – keeping a straight face as he replied the most outlandish way possible.

MINGYU

she knew he would peel the orange for her, she didn't need to ask.

in the three years they had been together, not once had she had to open a canned drink, twist open a cap off a bottled water, plan a single date, open her own doors – hell, she hadn't had to put her own gas in her car since she began dating the king of acts of service.

he had done it without being asked.

since being with him, she had been able to turn her brain off – fulfilling her life long wish of being treated like a princess.

but she also didn't think it would be such a hot topic when she had showed him the tiktok of the orange peel theory.

"i'm not humoring this. i won't." he shook his head for the third time.

"why not?!" y/n stomped.

"fine, you want peeled oranges?" mingyu grumbled, walking over to their fruit bowl, peeling the citrus and placing it in front of her. "here."

looking at the bare fruit, y/n couldn't help but wince. not because of his actions.

but because she hated the sight of the white pith. she hated peeled oranges.

it was far too messy to eat and the texture of the white fuzz surrounding it gave her the heebie-jeebies – shuddering just at the thought of touching it.

"exactly." mingyu grabbed another orange and a knife – slicing it in quarters. "i can't peel it because you like it sliced."

she stood there dumfounded as he left the kitchen chuckling.

he won this round.

VERNON

"that's dumb." vernon snorted as his girlfriend showed him the third tiktok of someone's boyfriend failing miserably at their significant other's attempts to ask them to peel an orange for them.

"it's also kinda funny." she laughed.

"i'm one step ahead though."

furrowing her brows, she gave him a look from the other side of the couch.

"that," vernon pointed to the small potted plant resting by their window sill. "is gonna be an orange tree."

he had recently been very into assisting her with finding decorations for their new shared home, at times coming home with various plants and art works. she had gotten accustomed to his random home-good shopping sprees, she didn't dare bat an eye when he had come home with a real potted plant the other day. it would just be another addition to their countless ones that he used to brighten up their home.

"you bought an orange tree– plant?" her eyes wide. he never was the green thumb, killing the cactus she had bought for him years ago. she figured she would be the one to tend to this new plant.

"anyone can peel an orange." he shrugged. "i'll move it to the yard when it gets bigger."

"oh my god."

I am re-starting my fitness journey, and what better to motivate me than being a casual (worrying) level of obsessed with svt. So yeah once again no one asked for this but here we are, writing it anyway

-he is 100% using any gym time with you to show off/impress you/remind you he's ya man, the most overtly sexy of the gym bfs

-likes to hold eye contact while he does hip thrusts. if he's really feeling it he'll get the weights as close to your actual weight as possible, looking at you while he stacks them all up.

-the BELT FLICKS.......the belt flicks. he does it on purpose. and by god you’re grateful.

-shamelessly ogles you the whole time

-he will slap your butt after spotting you for squats and call it his boyfriend tax

-knows you think he's sexy when he works his arms or chest so he always calls you over to spot and then smirks when you get flustered

-another tired boy, but he does plan what he's going to work out at the gym every time and appreciates you following his schedule with him to keep each other on track

-cannot keep a smile off his face when you hype him up while he lifts, which is almost reason enough for him to do it

-is also super encouraging -- when you're challenging yourself to do something you've never done or trying to break a pr he's always so supportive and sweet

-this man is the ultimate gym buddy and personal trainer

-if u express even a vague interest in working out he will sit you down to discuss goals and expectations and then come to your first gym session with a written, illustrated schedule targeting your specific body type & goals

-THE BEST spotter and also why do i feel like he has weird amounts of chiropractic knowledge and will be able to help you stretch SO well

-you can ask him any question about any workout and he knows the answer

-for some reason being in the gym with jihoon is so romantic to me like??? i feel like he'd be spotting you while you lift and he'd just lightly touch your arms to steady you and you'd be a blushing mess and so would he and then you'd go make out after

-worried you’re gonna get hurt so it’s sometimes hard for him to complete his workouts bc he’s watching your form

seokmin:

-going to the gym with seokmin would be a disaster in the best way

-will you work out? yes

-will it mostly be your abs, from laughing at him the entire time? also yes

-he will do bicep curls at you AGGRESSIVELY while he blasts careless whisper over the gym speakers

-his squats are all excuses to throw it back/twerk into you

-is also down for a couples challenge or two

-would be very complimentary of your muscles even if you don't feel like they're that good

-counts down your reps in a silly voice

-he ALSO has really good belt flicks but kind of by accident, and when he catches you blushing he'll tease you about it

mingyu:

-another elite-level gym buddy bf

-does love shots with your preworkout & makes the BEST post-gym meals

-he would also totally be that guy who has you kneel on his feet when he does sit-ups or lay beneath him while he does pushups so he can kiss you every time

-he is also an ogler. he will stare shamelessly at your butt as you walk by

-you might try to do a couples challenge once, but he's clumsy af and it didn't end well so you vowed never to do it again

-he's just a big baby so every time you exclaim over how nice his body is he'll get all shy

-also of course this man is posting up in a backwards baseball cap, a black skintight shirt, and gray sweatpants ON PURPOSE but he'll pretend he doesn't know he's committing literal crimes

-i see him more as a yoga/barre guy than a lifting guy

-also very good at stretching you out

-gets embarrassed when you watch him push through a difficult workout bc you're practically drooling at how attractive it is

-but he's also surprisingly goofy in the gym with you and makes sure you’re both having a good time

-loves to do those couple yoga poses and couple stretches

-also is down to help you with boxing or jiu jitsu moves

-hard to keep ur hands off each other after you get home hehehehehehehe

-leg day is every day. so many squats are being done

-he also makes you laugh a lot

-for any aerobic workouts you are either getting in the pool with the grannies for water aerobics or ur doing Zumba there is no in between

-takes you on runs to beautiful spots in the city

-gets competitive about working out with you so if you do more reps than him or run a lil faster he pushes himself too hard

-is always prepared: the night before, he’ll set out your gym clothes, fill your water bottle and put it in the fridge, portion out the preworkout, etc

vernon:

-wants to share gym playlists, so he has one earbud of yours in the gym at all times

-surprises himself with how much he’s staring at you because wow he likes you in that tight shirt and leggings

-I can see him being really methodical about working out, so he kinda gets lost in it and forgets you’re alive, until you do your little dances around him

-he loves it when you show off for him so he can compliment you bc he’s kind of shy to do it without a reason bc then he’d have to admit how much he’s forgetting to work out because he’s paying attention to you
