back in Takagi’s day, kids just ran around fighting each other for yugioh cards

am so obsessed with the fact that takagi’s on the verge of truth of so many things. the scene with him and conan in the elevator haunts me. the way he asks him “who are you?” the way conan’s like “i’ll tell you in next life”. this is kind of literally admitting that he IS not who he seems on the surface, even if he didn’t actually directly give away the truth. am thinking about a comic i saw once about takagi figuring out “amuro-san” is actually the #1 of the academy that date was talking about. like he didn’t know his real name but he just got a suspicion about it after some stuff happened. in the comic there’s a scene where conan and furuya talked about how takagi seems to realize that “amuro” is not just a normal coffee shop waiter and furuya says how takagi has a way of making other people relax their guard around him and accidentally reveal a more truthful side of themselves, even if takagi is not doing so intentionally. and conan’s like yeah i totally get that. then furuya thinks hmm i wonder what secret you have that make you feel you can get this feeling ….. then the two of them decide to try to figure out more secrets of the other by asking takagi

just … he’s so interesting he follows conan’s words at a crime scene so unconditionally. canon never said he knows his real identity but also just …. the elevator scene. i am so haunted by it.
