So... It’s been a while. 

But, as I sit here watching The Office with my wine, all I can think about is how I need to write everything out. 

I’m sipping wine in my new apartment, wearing my new(ish) glasses, my new kittens sleeping in the next room, and my new car sitting in the parking lot. There are way too many new things going on right now, and I feel like I’ve lost a little bit of myself. 

I have a degree now. A bachelor’s degree. Am I using it? No. I still have the same serving job, and I quit my new office job one week after I started it. I’ve decided to go back and get another degree, but as I’m waiting for the new semester to start, I’m getting nervous and anxious.

What if I can’t do it? What if this is all my life is going to be? What if this isn’t the path I’m supposed to be taking? So many “what ifs” are going through my head right now, and it’s taking more and more control to get rid of them. 

New is scary. And nerve-wracking. Can I do it? I don’t know. 

But I’m damn sure gonna try. I’m going to get my chemistry degree. I’m going to work in forensics. I’m going to pay all my new bills and still be able to buy myself nice things. I have an amazing family, fantastic friends, the best roommate ever, and the most perfect boyfriend for which I could have ever asked. 

Things are gonna be okay. :)

P.S. I do really miss my car, though. It was a part of me, and the only car I had ever driven. Rest In Peace, Elby. You were amazing. Who knew a little yellow convertible bug would give me so much joy. 

Cheers to Dexter, my new white Focus. We’re going to have amazing journeys together. <3
