The UFO like DLN zoomed around the ship taking pictures and making little beeping noises from time to time. As it came across Peridot it makes an excited beeping noise and zooms around her. Clearly the little robot was excited to meet an alien.

“Oh, another human creation.” She made shooing motions with her hands. “Shoo. Begone.” She had managed to rebuild a ship of sorts using materials she’d found on earth, but her own ship was still very much destroyed.

you know what ship i do like though? jaspedot.

i feel like peridot sorta looks up to jasper in a way.

and then i can deal with lapidot. im not crazy about it but it’s cute

i dont understand a lot of whats going on but people really need to learn to respect ships

i don’t like jaspis either but i’m not about to bully someone off of tumblr because of it. like dude, let people ship what they want

“I am an Esper. A being that lives off of Magic.” He said simply. “And I know that because my scans indicate you have no organs. All your energy is coming from that gem on your forehead. And scans of the gem indicate it is Peridot.”

“And your body seems to be at the very least technological.” He sighed. “I am not a fool. I rule half of this planet and I am the smartest man on it.”

“Now, the primary question is if you are hostile or not. I am rather protective of my world and I will not tolerate hostilities… especially between a species I know… well, almost little about.”

“An Esper? Hmm.. I’ve heard of such things but I’ve never seen one.” She said. “Though what I don’t understand is why you need robotic limbs if you have access to magic. It isn’t logical.”

“You rule half of this planet? I thought I was on earth.” She glanced around. “..I’m not hostile to this planet, let’s just leave it at that.”

“…elementary, my dear sapient magnesium silicate… You underestimated my analytical ability and the resources I have to gather information thereof. You’re obviously here as part of some sort of investigation, you don’t appear suited for dedicated combat… so wouldn’t you be better off making no assumptions of those you run into if you want accurate data?”

This really shut Peridot up for a few moments. Then, crossing her arms, she finally replied. “You seem to be making quite a lot of assumptions yourself, don’t you think?” Though it was true that she wasn’t meant for combat specifically.. that didn’t mean she couldn’t defend herself. Or flee.

The gem groaned, glaring down at her console. This flight was so boring, and Jasper coming in ever three minutes wasn’t helping. Then again, she hadn’t come in for a while, so maybe Peri was finally saf- nope, there went the door again.

“Urgh! What is it now, Jaspe-” She span around in her chair, raising an eyebrow as she saw Lapis. “Lazuli? What are you doing here?”

Lapis leaned against a wall, glancing up at Peridot when she had been addressed. “Not much, really, I just wanted some company on this flight that isn’t Jasper coming in every few minutes.” The blue Gem smoothed her hair a little.

“I hope I’m not bothering you.”

“Ugh. Alright, so if you are so keen on trying to impress me and help my cause, then prove it. Do you even know what it is that I plan on doing on this planet? Do you?” She crossed her arms, putting the HPI away. “Because I don’t think you do.”

              “A…Achi…baba?”

     The little, sparking alien repeated questioningly, extending a yellow paw to the blue woman, wondering if it was his foreign language that left her puzzled. He knew a few Earth words; maybe they would work?

                 “Frrr….Frrrrrieeend….?”

“You.. want to be my friend?” She seemed to calm at this, kneeling down in front of the small yellow alien, hesitantly taking the paw of the alien.

She had heard of other creatures besides humans and gems, but she’d never actually seen one. Especially not on earth.

Instead of following through, the man simply pulls a small ‘playing card’ from his cloak, simply holding it as it began to quickly flash a series of holographic images in front of it for him to review with a cool, grey eye, not even looking at Peridot at this point.

“…demeanor is self-assured and irritable, quick to threats of violence against an assumed ‘lesser’… charming. Probably should obtain a sample for the transfiguration device, but likelihood of genetic adaptability to the silicates are… questionable… Composition reconfirmed as (Mg, Fe)2SiO4, approaching Mg2SiO4… Hints at integrated technology noted, digits appear to have some level of nano-circuitry or other substitute, but their independent levitation limits other possibilities considerably…”

Angry growling came from Peridot as she listened to his words. “How do you know all of this?! Explain yourself, human!” She demanded, taking a step forward as she pointed a floating digit at him.

“Hmm… A humanoid creature… initial scans indicate physical form is a projection from a focusing gem made of… Peridot? Advanced technology that isn’t Mobian. I can only assume you aren’t from this planet.”

“How.. how do you know all of that? Humans aren’t supposed to be that smart.” She squinted her eyes. “What are you? You’re not a human, not a Gem..” She was furiously scribbling data onto her HPI.

“…fascinating. An… androgynous silicate life form with a uniquely crystalline structure… aura appears to be rather unusual beyond aberrations given by crystalline focusing effect…”

He doesn’t look like he’s moving… or, given he’s at least as big and beefy looking as Jasper, like anyone would be able to move him instead.

“Yes, yes. Now, do go away before I destroy you. I don’t have time for this.” Came her response. Jasper levels of beefiness or not, she really wasn’t intimidated. After all, to Peridot this was nothing more than an ordinary human with some fancy vocabulary.
