“Two ways of killing ourselves: suicide or detachment. To kill by our thought everything we love: the only way to die.”
— Simone Weil (1909-1943), from “Detachment” in “Simone Weil. An Anthology”, edited and Introduced by Sian Miles (via finita–la–commedia)
at this point in time everyone, especially on social media, is obsessed with perfection. your face should be perfect, your celebrities, characters, media, your opinions, your clothes, diet, aesthetic, instagram feed- everything. it’s exhausting, toxic and inhumane. no one is perfect. and to put ppl, and things on this pedestal of flawlessness is utterly ridiculous. it’s just not how the world works.
A Bronx Tale (1993)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) dir. Robert Zemeckis.
“Ir até ao rio e ficar como um barco, entre a saudade e o mar.”
— Nuno Artur Silva, ONDE O OLHAR, ed. Indício
