I just picked up these gorgeous blooms from Jill @rosefolkflowers and they smell like a dream! I'm so happy to find locally grown sustainable roses to supplement what I can grow in my little garden. Now it's time to separate the petals for drying, one of my very favourite tasks. Just pressed the oil that's been infusing with these, the very last of my calendula harvest from last year. Calendula oil is one of my favourites - so many benefits for the skin, smells heavenly, and the vibrant colour is like summer afternoon sunshine in a jar. The perfect pick-me-up on this gloomy day. 🌻 ... I'm making this precious oil into some very special new hand creams that will be available at tonight's Makers' Market! 7-9:30pm in the courtyard at 252 James North.
