I think I talked about this before but Dean dying in a light grey shirt and being resurrected in a very similar outfit but now his shirt is solid black? Ohhhhh I feel sick. That's his soul, that's the stain of hell forever woven into the fabric of who he is, he has to carry on forever with what happened to him now, his shirt is always gonna be black he doesn't get to wear the light

Imagine Chuck stopped publishing books after the Dean goes to hell plot line (as said in 5x09) because he put Cas in, didn’t like him, but then couldn’t get him out of the story. Imagine he then tried to kill him, wrote season 5 without him and everything, but at that, Dean gave up. The story ended. It ended bad. So he brought Cas back. Over and over and stupidly over because he just couldn’t get rid of him. In every single instance once Dean met Castiel, he was lost without him, because how can you be given faith only to lose it? And the fact that Dean can’t just have faith on his own, the fact that Dean’s first trust in anything good was Cas, is exactly where Chuck shot himself in the foot. And for all of that Chuck hates him.

Do you think Dean felt butterflies around Cas? Every time Cas looked at him for too long, when he stood too close. Did he feel it at the beginning, when he could feel the angel's presence tingling his neck like a soft breath? Or rather later, when Cas was stripped from most of his grace and he would chuckle at Dean's jokes; his voice circling in Dean head, hours afterwards? Every time Cas caught him staring and other times when he was the one who accidentally met Cas' gaze? When he heard his voice, all low and gravelly, calling his name? When Dean would look at his hands, arms, back, neck, all in such masculine shape it made Dean sweaty? Do you think Dean felt butterflies around Cas and he hated it?

I love how eye-contact dependent Destiel is in Season 4 (and definitely in other seasons but I'm just focusing on Season 4 for now). Castiel looks into Dean's eyes and immediately realizes he doesn't think he deserves to be saved while Dean doesn't look away at that revelation. When Uriel or Zachariah is ordering Dean to do something, Dean is always looking at Castiel to see what he thinks and tries to persuade him to do the right thing. When Dean pushes Castiel to tell him what he was going to before being "sent back to Bible camp", Castiel specifically looks away when saying it wasn't important (a lie) until looking directly into his eyes and saying "I can't." And then there's the iconic minute-long scene of the two of them just staring at each other afterwards waiting to see what happens next.

And of course, this all culminates in "Lucifer Rising" with Dean FORCING Castiel to look at him, to hear him, about how wrong this is and for Castiel to see that Dean has changed and that Dean wants to feel even with how afraid he is. And then Castiel is able to tell Dean his plan without saying a single word.

It just goes to show their vulnerability with each other. When they truly see each other, there's nothing they won't tell each other, there's nothing they won't do for each other.

I miss the days of Aziraphale and Crowley ridiculously sharing half a brain cell. I miss Crowley being a clever, optimistic demon, gluing coins to sidewalks and messing with cell towers and the M25. I miss Aziraphale being a fussy, prim and oh so posh connoisseur of everything hedonistic, most especially Crowley.

I miss the days when thinking of them together wasn’t some complicated gymnastic exercise. When they had eternity. When they looked at each other with a fierce and protective love, because that’s what filled their unnecessary hearts.

I miss it.

I’ve been obsessed with the x-ray of Dean’s ribs since first seeing that episode. (In drawing this piece I’ve discovered how anatomically inaccurate that scan in the show is lmao)

In my attempt to make the ribs a little more anatomically accurate I didn’t have enough room for the original enochian sigils so I made my own hehe
