Alternative view of the old iwagumi layout in the Mini M. With this kind of view, you can feel an entirely different perspective of the nano world.
Okay. So I can't find the post but I think you said your job involved fish? How did you get that job? What kind of formal education did you get? What would you recommend I study in college? Any idea on which college?
This is a good question -
What I would say for you, in the course of study, is to study as much as you can on as wide a variety of different topics as you can. For me personally, I went to university for International Business, but the most important things out of any formal education was learning different topics - the arts, other cultures, history, et cetera.
In the fish biz, you, in most cases, could just walk in a door and get hired almost anywhere without formal education - it's not typically an arena that focuses as highly on higher education, since there is very little formal training that does you any good in the field. For example, everything I learned about Nature Aquarium was self taught from translating Japanese texts, studying art, history and Japanese gardening.
I always recommend that studying writing is a good idea, as well as history, and that the most important thing is to keep thinking outside of the normal box.
A more detailed view of the progression of planting the carpet in the Mini S driftwood layout.
Littorella uniflora, a relatively new carpet plant - creates a sparse carpet, best used as an accent plant for the midground
Managing a mixed carpet of plants requires diligent pruning and trimming to maintain balance.
View from the top of the aquarium - a thicket of stems after trimming.
After trimming the 60-P, the layout begins the next phase of development, trimming inspires denser growth of the plants.
With Elatine hydropiper (mini glosso) now placed in the foreground, the layout takes further shape. Mini glosso and C. parva create an elegant melding for texture - with similar leaf shape and colors, but yet subtle differences, it takes the attention off of the carpet and puts it on the layout as a whole.
Fine tipped pincettes will aid greatly in planting Elatine hydropiper into the nano planted aquarium foreground.
Cryptocoryne parva sets the stage for how the rest of the plants will come together in the composition.
What do you mean by "Finnex" gives you a certain assumption? Are the diodes in my fugeray not going to last very long?
No, no, nothing like that! It's just the best scape I've seen so far in a finnex tank. I probably worded that poorly. for example, I would've been equally shocked had it been a fluval edge, since the lights are usually underpowered - so your results were very, very pleasantly surprising to me and you seem to have a good instinct for placement, which is somewhat a rarity in the still very young aquascaping hobby here!
Hi. Who are you? Are you just one person? Your posts seem so professional, like a company's.
Hello! I am just one person, yes. All the photos I post, with the exception of submissions are my personal stuff!
The next layout coming up is in my original love for an aquarium - the Mini S, weighing in at all but 3.5 gallons, it is truly a micro world.
With the passing of time, the plants create a beautiful mix on the stone.
Is that just regular java moss or is it like willow moss or something?
It is christmas moss. I'll be trimming some soon if you want some.
The face of the stone is slowly eroded away by the growth of life.
