Look. As a lesbian, I can honestly understand what Sophie is saying. I wouldn’t want a biological MAN in a bathroom with my daughter either. I also wouldn’t want him playing sports with my daughter Dudes are bigger than women obviously and could cause accidental or intentional harm to my daughter. Now I also think everyone should be included in everything but
your hypothetical daughter will experience harm and injury in her sport regardless. i've been beat up my whole life by women soccer players & it hasn't made me hate or fear women. it prob did make me gay but that's irrelevant. i've personally injured women and men alike in soccer my whole life. in middle school i fractured a girl's ankle. i tore a grown man's mcl in high school. both accidents, as all injuries are. your hypothetical daughter will have the capability and intellect to not harbor bias if you just teach her to accept that people look different.
i also take issue with the way you say biological MEN and HIM while talking about trans women. trans women use the bathroom to take a fucking piss. it's a bathroom not an orgy party. if someone wants to assault a woman they'll just walk in there and do it. there's no lock on the door. it's more likely for a trans woman to get beat up in a men's bathroom than it is for a cis woman to get harmed by a trans woman in the woman's bathroom.
also, all people have genetic differences. people, regardless of sex, are taller than each other, stronger than each other, tougher than each other. the few trans athletes that exist are put under rigorous hormone treatments that cause them to lose muscle mass & put them in the same active field as cisgender athletes. at the end of the day. it is literally a sport that people play for entertainment. they just want to exist and do what they love like cis people do. many of the girl trans kid athletes that you fear have been on puberty blockers & haven't even experienced male puberty.
it's understandable that you're uncomfortable with something foreign, and i get it. but you have to understand that the perceived future threat of trans women "hurting our little cis girls" is nothing compared to the thousands of trans people that commit suicide every year. nex benedict, murdered by classmates. trans kids and adults face some of the worst discrimination in the world. that is the real and actual harm. real cisgender men murder women and rape them and harm them at horrible levels every day. blame Men. fear Men. don't blame innocent trans women because of an imagined occurrence (yes trans women can be evil, too. but statistically it's insignificant compared to cis men!)
