Excerpt:

As he turned towards the direction of going back to the school, Nirei nervously spoke up, "Umm..Sakura-san, how about you head back home first?" He firmly held Sakura's sleeve to stop him from walking further.

"Why?"

At the two toned's question, Suo interrupted, "You look a little tired.And today, you even came late to school when its unusual for you to do so." His lone eyes hinted a hidden worry in his words.

Sakura for some part thought that the other two were speaking the truth. So, instead of arguing or giving some heated reply, he just nodded and started walking towards another direction.

His unusual behaviour burdened the auburn haired and yellow haired with more worry as they exchanged glances behind Sakura's back.

Odd eyes looked at his walking feet who held no confidence. His legs felt no weight of his body as it moved. He doesn't know why he was feeling this way; was it because of that nightmare? But it wasn't his first time to experience it.

Disgust swirls in his head as he can’t believe the greed he harbours, to actually want to sink his fangs into his friend’s neck. Nirei is a generous person, but he has to be absolutely stupid to offer himself up to a creature that can— that might actually kill him.

“Who’s to say that I’ll stop?” Hayato asks. It’s meant to sound like a threat, just to get Nirei to back off, but his voice is too small. He just sounds scared. “What if I suck you dry?”

“You won’t,” Nirei replies confidently. It’s baseless. Idiotic. Hayato wants to scream. “You wouldn’t hurt me, Suo-san.”

His stomach churns. Nirei regards him much too highly. It makes him anguished just thinking about it.

Excerpt:

The sound of metal meeting skin is one that Hayato did not want to have to hear in Makochi, though it is something he recognizes immediately. The sheer shock of hearing something so usually isolated to just one of his two homes is enough to make his lone eye widen in surprise, before he turns toward the noise so quickly that the tassels on his earrings snap against his cheeks.

That sound, however, is unimportant compared to the sound Sakura makes when he goes down. His noise of pain snags in Hayato’s brain like a fish hook and makes the blood rush to his brain so quickly that he’s momentarily lightheaded.

There’s always tension at first, broken by a feat of feigned ignorance that Nirei refuses to let Sakura attempt. Whoever decides to take up point, and it has to be someone other than Nirei for the plan to hold any substance, is caught in the crossfire, and he doesn’t want Sakura to jeopardize an obviously coveted friendship because Nirei is picking a fight.

This is one brawl he can't let his Captain join, and one that thankfully, the rest of his classmates have taken on in his stead. He can feel them all watching, debating amongst themselves on who gets to take up the proverbial sword and face Suo’s wrath.

Anzai and Tsugeura exchange a frantic glance, Sugishita actually looks up over the salad Umemiya helped put together, Takanashi sighs and starts to put down his noodles, but its Kiryu who takes the plate, unphased by Suo’s crackling aura.

“You’re not eating lunch today, Nirei-chan?”

He didn’t move. He just kept thinking about it—the first thing Suo had taught him, when he’d wanted to learn how to fight.

If you looked away, you’d miss your opponent’s next move. You’d never be able to tell the difference between a punch and a fake out. Facing someone head on meant that sometimes you’d take a hit, sure, but if you flinched, you’d always take a hit.

Suo had told him this, and then promptly demonstrated it for his benefit.

…As far as punches to the face could go, Nirei had to admit it had been remarkably gentle.

Or, at least that’s what the thought until… whatever it is that happened Friday night, and now he knows how it feels to really, truly have one’s bell rung.

Truth be told, he has no recollection of it whatsoever. Usually when he hits his head, the double vision is short-lived, with any headache it causes not making it past the night. But this time it’s been a full weekend and his mind is still in such a haze he’s not even put off by the brief loss in memory. The world has fallen under a filter of grey. Static crackles where his thoughts usually sit.

Sorry, I haven’t read that one. I don’t currently do fic finder posts either. Although if I ever get more time, I might expand to do that. You might get someone who knows it in these comments though.

As a note, on tumblr you don’t need to self-sensor your words. In fact it’s better if you don’t. The way tumblr works, you want to use the actual words so people trying to avoid the topic can easily do so. I know some people new to tumblr from other social media don’t know that.

“I lived here a while back,” he said, eyeing her carefully. “But if you want to think I’m a real weirdo go ahead.”

“That wasn’t what I meant,” she laughed a little, turning to face him. She waved her hand dismissively, “how far back is a while, I'm pretty sure I’d remember seeing someone as unique as you around.”

“Three years give or take.”

“Oh wow, that was back when there were a lot of gangs in town, fights and turf wars were breaking out all the time,” she hummed.

Haruka nodded in agreement. It was shocking to him how much it had calmed down now.

“That being said I’m not originally from this town either, but I’m pretty sure I was around when you’d been here. Strange wonder why I’ve never seen you, my name's Tachibana Kotoha, by the way” she introduces herself. With a smile Kotoha says “Eat up.”

Haruka doesn’t move to eat. He sits and stares. She seems familiar but he can’t place it. He also knows she won’t recognize him if they had met. Haruka used to wear a hoodie to hide his different features.

She had seen him before in the brothel, walking beside well-dressed men. He always kept his head down and was never allowed to talk to anyone.

Suosaku Week 2026, Day 3: Yakuza.

Excerpt:

"…Suo?" he muttered, finally convincing his mind that this was his oddly dressed boyfriend who looked like he was pursuing something in a dark alleyway...before Sakura appeared to block him.

"Sakura-kun." The warmth dropped into place fast, "I didn't expect you out this way. What're you-"

He didn't finish.

A blurred figure blipped into existence behind Sakura, opposite and far from Suo. Sakura felt him before he heard him. The figure was heaving and out of breath…was he running from something? No time to wonder about that-

Sakura turned his head, and the man looked at Suo, then at Sakura standing closer to himself than to Suo, and Sakura watched something desperate change in the man's face. He understood a second too late that the man had just decided just what Sakura was.

The offender moved quickly.

An arm came across Sakura's chest and hauled him back before his body had picked a direction. Then, before he could deliver a swift back-kick, something cold pressed flat to the back of his neck, and he went stiff all over because he knew what it was without looking. Only one intimidating weapon had a small barrel at the end of it, after all. Sakura's eyes widened and he let out a timid exhale.
