blog notes.
my tagging system is really rudimentary. basically just "[team lb name]" (ex. canucks) for all teams.
"gif" for gifs, "mp4" for videos, "art" for art, "faves" for favourite posts â not just limited to hockey stuff, etc.
players aren't usually tagged but that could change in the future! like too many players to do that so ive held off
the hockey stuff.
been a fan since i was a kid and locked in Especially Hard during the canucks 2024 run
wouldn't consider myself new to hockey itself (hockey family + friends), but only started lurking and interacting with the lb this year so there are probably many things i may not be knowledgable about. feel free to correct or inform me!
have a habit of liking too many teams (or being too neutral about them) and it causes problems for my heart during playoff season
new to the pwhl but i like the goldeneyes and victoire!
mainly lbing the canucks during regular season but will watch other teams im into on my own time. you'll mainly see me in other lb tags during playoffs đââïž
The best part of this is that both messi AND ronaldo stans (often arguably the most insufferable and genuinely horrible people on the internet) will leave this tournament bitter and unhappy
as much as i loved seeing vancouver come alive regarding community, i cant wait for thw downtown traffic to clear up minimally with there no longer being any massive watch parties đđđ
Ken Dryden on my mind today. Do you ever think about how Drydenâs, Carey Priceâs and Jacob Fowlerâs debuts and first wins were all against the P*nguins?
Also do you ever think about the number 9, what it means to this organisation and our SOG count in the 2026 game seven against T*mpa?
Do you ever think about Saku Koivu returning to a standing ovation that just wouldnât stop, went on through the anthems and basically all the way until his first shift was complete
Do you ever think about Lafleurâs tribute at Centre Bell and how the ovation lasted about ten minutes and how they tried several times to start the anthems but the people just wouldnât stop cheering for Guy
Do you ever think about PK Subban returning to Centre Bell after the trade and getting an incredible tribute, ovation and how he was crying big tears at centre ice
i gotta start off by saying that as much as we want to go about critiquing the adaption part of an adaptation, it's something that is not inherently possible
every time the eastern US starts freaking out about smoke blowing in from canada i have to hold my tongue so badly because iâm genuinely filled w so much empathy for people experiencing heavy smoke from wildfiresâit sucks! it hurts to breathe, and i donât even have any respiratory conditions. and itâs scary to look at! and wonder about how itâs affecting you!!
itâs hard tho because the conversation always seems to skew in such a frustrating direction where 1. many people donât seem to realize that the US also has lots of wildfires, even right now, 2. people are so irritated with how their life is affected that they become angry towards those losing their homes and 3. theyâd lead you to believe that theyâre the only people in north america who have ever had smoke blow in from another country? the worst smoke we get where i live is almost always from california, washington, etc. rather than other parts of british columbia. and again it sucks a lot to deal with, but as someone who was maybe 5km from having to evacuate from wildfires once (we were packed up and ready to go if needed), that feeling is just so terrifying that i canât imagine ever seeing smoke and feeling irate towards the people in the cities and towns actually burning :/
anyway climate change affects us all, and it certainly doesnât respect borders, hence why it needs a global solution đ
Several wildfires are forcing members of a number of First Nations to flee their homes in northern Ontario.
âI had time to run home and pack a bag and get to the beach where the boats were waiting,â said a member of Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (Collins). âWe literally had minutes to get on the boats and flee before it took our town.
âOnce we left my house finally after packing what I could in a pack sack, the fire was right behind our place. We had to run to the beach and once we got there, it was only moments before the fire had jumped over the (train) track and was coming for us.â
it has since been confirmed that namaygoosisagagun first nation has completely burnt to the ground. if you would like to help the community navigate an ongoing crisis, i urge you to donate to the anishinabek nation 7th generation, a registered charity seeking to improve the lives of first nations people. donations are going directly to members of namaygoosisagagun first nation.
