Devblog - Features

Today we’ll be talking about some of the features we’ve implemented in the closed beta prototype we’ve been working on. Obviously you’ll go on dates, but how do those work and what else can you do? 

 After some discussion, we’ve decided to have an intro of sorts, after which you’ll be able to pick the person you want to pursue in that play through. This means you will play through the entire story for the chosen character. If you regret who you've chosen you will need to start a new game or reload to before the choice. For the prototype, we’ve focused on the intro and the first date with Marcus. 

 One of the features we’ve been implementing revolves around giving the player hints about character likes/dislikes. T-Bone serves as sort of a guide for players dating any Dedsec members, and cracking open a cold one with him makes him willing to divulge some of his knowledge on someone’s tastes. Who knows, he may even be able to tell you how your date went in the future! 

 Following one of the notable design characteristics of the Watch_Dogs franchise, part of the user interface consists of a phone, which will allow the player to purchase beer as well as gifts, among other things. We're still working on the phone's look, but here's a sneak peak anyway.

The Unofficial Watch Dogs 2 Dating Sim is being made by a team of fans who connected on the /r/WD discord server. Although everyone has some experience in doing the things they are contributing, this is the first team-made game for all of us.
