All sins are not the same
I have been seeing posts on here claiming that all sins are the same
Murdering someone is not equal to lying although both are sins
In John 19:11, Jesus tells Pilate,
"The one who handed me over to you is guilty of greater sin,"
implying a hierarchy of guilt.
Similarly, Jesus warned that teachers of the law would receive greater condemnation (Luke 20:47) and that judgment would be more bearable for some cities (like Tyre and Sidon) than for others that rejected His miracles (Matthew 11:22-24).
Jesus stated that a servant who knows his master’s will but disobeys will be beaten with many blows, while one who does not know will receive few (Luke 12:47-48)
1 John 5:16-17 distinguishes between sin that leads to death and sin that does not. Additionally, 1 Corinthians 6:18 highlights sexual immorality as uniquely sinning against one’s own body, and Proverbs singles out specific sins (like pride and arrogance) as particularly detestable to God.
The Mosaic Law prescribed different penalties and sacrifices for different transgressions, treating intentional sins more severely than unintentional ones (Numbers 15:30-31) and assigning death penalties to specific acts.
The point is, while all sin is an offense against God, the Bible presents a nuanced view where sins differ in their moral weight, social impact, and eternal consequences.
In short: Just be obedient to God, even the muslims and hindus try to adhere to their beliefs and don't make excuses. We are children of the one true God YHWH unlike them. Grace of God is sufficient in our weakness and the holy spirit in us will guide us to living a victorious life.
