Just while we’re still in the early days, I’d like to jump in here and say that we can be rightfully pissed that we were queerbaited by Wednesday, BUT we need to be mad at the right people. The show didn’t queerbait us, the writers didn’t queerbait us, and the actors didn’t queerbait us, NETFLIX queerbaited us with their marketing. The show was heavily queercoded one hundred percent and there’s nothing wrong with that at all, but marketing a show as queer or hinting that there is a queer romance and then not delivering in the SLIGHTEST is what makes it queerbaiting. This discourse and anger is warranted and important but let’s make sure it’s directed at the right people who are actually at fault. Netflix has an awful history with sapphic shows, we need to hold them accountable.
