hey fellas, i am not dead! despite having like.. lowkey disappeared for a solid two-ish years or so from this blog. i know some of you (who are still following / expecting signs of life from me) are probably wondering where i’ve been and i’ll be honest! a heck of a lot of stuff has gone down since i went on hiatus, and some stuff took place that lead to me not feeling super comfortable or happy on this blog anymore. as such, i am moving! the picture that i have attached to this post is my new blog :) any of y’all who knew me from over here, feel free to hop on over and come say “hi”! it’d be really nice to talk to folks again <3

so for everyone who lives out of India, you guys must have heard about the farmers protest going on here and the Republic Day incident….so the thing is in this farmers protest there are two groups 1) the real farmers with real problems and 2) those people who want to divide the country and are using this protest as an opportunity. The real farmers are being wrongly influenced by these groups to rebel against the country and not the government’s laws hence the Republic day incident. PLEASE SUPPORT THE REAL FARMERS AND NOT THE SEPARATISTS GUYS. The separatists and corrupt politicians are taking advantage of these protests to divide our country.

See this picture? This comes from a town in Canada where a 24 pack of water bottles is 104 dollars and formula milk for a baby is priced at 55 dollars a pack. What’s more, a pack of diapers is 95 dollars and one head of lettuce is 26 dollars. Inuit people are starving in a country known for it’s generosity.

If you don’t believe this is true, you can find more images like this here. This is the only grocery store these people have in their small towns, and many people are going hungry & elderly are dying faster.

You’ll send aid to foreign children that are starving, so why won’t you pay a little extra to feed the people in your own country who work hard & still can’t afford the prices for healthy food for their families?

Please have a heart and reblog this photo to raise awareness that even in our own countries people are starving, join the movement and show the government that we won’t sit by and watch people starve. 

If you think this will make your blog ugly you’re wrong. Children in a first world country are getting sick & starving, and nobody is even aware it’s happening. You can let people know by reblogging and showing you care. People I am close to, my friends and future in-laws are going through this.

As someone who lives in Canada, I can confirm this as being true :/ things are crazy expensive up North and our government (note Harper) is horrible at helping out with things and has actually faked getting involved before.

governments hate indigenous people, this is absolutely about anti-native racism. don’t forget that.

One of the biggest parts of this is that shipping freight is costly to get to Northern communities (Some places get 2 shipments a year for non-food supplies), the second is that in Canada there is a HUGE protest against allowing Inuit people to feed themselves in traditional ways (ie seal/whale hunting). I dont think people realize that the native people’s hunting is a literal drop in the bucket as far as the animal populations go, but make a huge difference within their communities where food is scarce and expensive. Canadians aren’t ignorant to the anti-native sentiments in the government, and people have taken it upon themselves to send groceries to families in Northern cities.  If anyone here is interested in getting involved, Helping Our Northern Neighbors has been operating since 2014 to ship donated goods.

i see a lot of ya’ll self-depreciating over how much you cry and like…generally speaking, crying is a very healthy process. it’s an important means of 

expressing & processing strong emotions

relieving stress

experiencing catharsis 

moving on to a recovery period

this mindset that people just need to train themselves out of crying…that really worries me. bc the alternative is to repress those feelings instead of expressing them…and from firsthand experience i can tell you it is very much not worth doing that. i’ve been there, i’ve done it, i’ve bought into that mindset. i thought it would make me stronger and less vulnerable. instead i fell so out of touch with myself, it took years of therapy for me to learn to identify my own emotions again. i literally forgot how to tell when i’m upset or sad, bc my body had been trained out of expressing it. that’s an extreme scenario but it’s not uncommon, and if you spend too much time criticizing yourself over your own emotions, it can creep up on you.

i like to think we all know how harmful it is to tell children to just “stop crying, dammit.” turns out, the same is true for adults.

 just. please change the mindset that being visibly upset is somehow shameful. if you find yourself crying a lot, that probably means something in your external and internal experiences needs to change: you don’t deserve to feel angry, frustrated, frightened, sad, or upset so frequently that it distresses you. those are only supposed to be sometime emotions. 

but telling yourself to just. stop crying, or to stop feeling what you’re feeling? that’s harmful, and it doesn’t work. no one controls their emotions out of sheer will–at best we shut them down, and then pay heavily for it later. if we want our minds to feel better, we need to give them assistance, not threats. threatening or bullying our bodies and minds to behave the way we want them to will always backfire.

also like, it’s a normal bodily function? crying is literally something your body just has to do sometimes, to maintain function? we sweat to cool off, we salivate so we can eat things, and we cry to release oxytocin & endorphins in times of stress. 

it’s normal, it’s healthy, it’s necessary. don’t rob yourself of that

increasing gay/bi/trans/queer visibility & acceptance will naturally lead to more people coming out, and to more teens identifying as queer. because:

it’s safer 

it’s a real option 

they know there are other people like them 

they know their identity exists

they have a name to put to their internal experiences

and anyone who is worried this will “turn their kids gay,” actually means “my kids won’t be forced, by fear and terror, to closet themselves.”

Oh this reminds me of a tweet I saw about how left-handedness in the 1800′s was at like 1%, but when kids stopped being punished for being left handed the rates of left-handedness naturally started going up. When you stop punishing people for something they can’t do anything about, they’ll feel more inclined to not hide it or change themselves.
