Long Time No See!
Hello fellows in learning! Been a long time since I’ve posted anything and I apologize for that. The school semester has started and I am busier than ever! I just felt now was the time to share how things are going and find out how everyone else is. This semester has been a whirlwind for me and it has only just begun! I’ve done a great deal of thinking considering my plans for school and a lot has changed. Now my general plan for my life is the same but the path to it is definitely different. For a long time I refused to make any changes to my “grand plan” out of fear. I was scared because that meant a great deal of uncertainty would come into my life and I wasn’t sure how’d I’d deal with that. Now, I’m facing it head on and I’m not slowing down! Yes, there is some more uncertainty in my future now that the old plan is done. In fact, it isn’t just done but also blow up. I basically put a stick of dynamite under the plan and just shielded myself from the blast as best as I could. Inevitably, I did get hit by some of the debris but that’s okay. Cause now I have more room to discover new things about myself. Now, I’m not nailed down with this plan I’ve been following religiously for the few years. Yes, it is important to have a plan for the future, but don’t feel like you have to follow it to the end because things change. Changing it will make things more uncertain but it will also make you freer. I’ll be honest, it can be extremely terrifying but it is also amazingly beautiful as well. So that is my advice for anyone willing to listen to my rambling. Don’t be unwilling to change the plan cause life changes and it’s okay to be scared (I would think you were crazy if you weren’t) but don’t let it control you. This is the time to fall in love with life, make it a long-term relationship.
To my dear freshman,
To all the freshmen who are just now starting their #journeytosuccess I say enjoy these college years. These years are going to be where you truly learn to be independent and to find out what it is that you truly like. No matter what it is that you may like always remember the true reason why you decided to start this journey. Don’t let temporary things distract you from your goals. Always keep your long term goals in the back of your head when you are out making important decisions. Particularly if you’re pursuing college, remember parties and relationships always take second to school work and any other thing such as clubs and organizations that take up a lot of your time. Besides if you don’t maintain a certain GPA many organizations won’t allow you to be a member anyways. However, don’t be afraid to try new things (legal things) because you might realize that there is a different path you may want to take. I personally realized I was pursuing the wrong degree my sophomore year, so I changed my major that year. Always remember enjoy this journey and don’t be afraid to ask for help because that will be key in some situations. College students don’t be afraid to talk to your teachers after class or seek out a tutor. Also, don’t think a university is your only option after high school always do your research and find out more about yourself because no one knows you more than you. Then research resources because there are resources out there to help us be prosperous. Life after high school does not have to be stressful, if you make goals and set priorities.
To All The Fresh Meat
Don’t ever skip a class unless you absolutely need to. If you feel well enough to get out of bed, then do it! Soreness, fatigue, anxiety about anything (from the first day to presentations), or anything else that isn’t a legit reason to miss a class shouldn’t be done. Once you miss that first one, it makes it easier to skip repeatedly. The last thing you need is to get a bad grade simply because you chose not to attend class. Make the most of your college years! Sleep is important, but there’s more to life, and college, than sleeping in or being excessively lazy.
Antione's advice
My advice for freshman is... Don't start out at a pace you can't keep. So for your first semester ease in to the new environment but take a set number of classes. Stay calm and ask questions if academic or financial issues occurred. Your college staff will transfer you to the right people to resolve things Preparation and organization are key to being successful in college and your college career will be based off how good you manage these.
Advice on your journey
Freshmen- When you start college or any post secondary education remember that it is a bigger responsibility than high school. You are now accountable for your own future. It may seem scary, but it is so exciting. You can be anything you want, but it takes time and commitment. I recommend keeping a planner and scheduling study times. I never studied in high school but always passed tests, but in college I figured out really quick that studying is a must. Set time aside to go to the library. Also you should pick a major as soon as possible, you don't want to take classes you don't need and wind up wasting your time. One last thing- go to as many on campus events as you possibly can. It's a great way to meet new people.
Advice!!!
My advice to freshmen is to always put more than your best effort into your work. As foster children, the odds of going to college are tremendously stacked against us. We have to work harder than our many of our peers because most of us don't have the support they do. Many of us cannot ask our parents for help when we hit a road block. So staying focused on school, while also maintaining a good balance of fun, is the most important job we may have right now. And that is a job that must be taken with real sincerity.
Advice for Freshman!
Freshman who are just starting out on their #journeytosuccess should find and locate all available resources on campus (e.g. financial aid office, advising office, tutoring services, mentoring services, foster care resources, etc.) I would find all of those within the first few weeks of school, because once classes start picking up and you may need to use one of those things, it can get overwhelming.
To someone who is just beginning theit journey to success, dont be afraid to ask for help. Utilize all of your resources. Check to see if your school offers a guardian scholars, or some type of support for foster youth, that is a giis way to meet people just like your self. Find two, or three people who are just as serious and focused as you are, so that way you each can hold onr another accountable.

Ambitions
First off I want to say sorry for the late post. These past few weeks have been pretty crazy and I doubt they'll slow down much before school starts. But the way I always maintained focus on my goals and dreams was by constantly reminding myself how far I've come but that there is still much to go. Looking back on my life now, compared to where I was five years ago, is overwhelming. Today, I am on a clear and focused path towards my goals but there is still a lot to do. Reminding myself of where I come from (and how easy it is to fall back into that) while also looking ahead is what keeps me motivated to work for my goals and dreams.
If you haven't read this book yet, I have only one question!. What are you waiting for?? This book is truly a guide for my/our generation. So quit being too COOL! and feed your mind some new knowledge. "Let's be the revolutionary change we want to see in the world!" #change #revolution #brainfood #journeytosuccess #aimhigher #Ralph
Random Thoughts!!
I'm the second to graduate high school and the first to attend college. Now I know that may sound like some cliche back story, but it's my back story. And everyday, I wake up and OWN IT. I truly believe that my #success doesn't come from what I've already done, but what I plan to do in the future: graduate college, take and pass the MCAT, enroll and get accepted to Medical school, and Soooo much more. My story has just begun. So get ready World!! #randomthoughts #journeytosuccess #aimhigher #Ralph

Five Years From Now
Before I had the next five years of my life planned. I knew what I was going to do step by step. But now the next five years is a mystery for me. I will have completed my A.A.S degree by then and will be completing my bachelors degree in film. I wish to create many for meaningful videos. I also aim to create my own video production company like that of my peers.
