I love how in the novel, from Kara and Gilbert's perspective, Draco leaves without a word in the middle of the night, leaving them to attempt to start the uprising by themselves after all, and then he shows up the next day hours late to the peasant revolt plan with a freshly washed and shaved Bowen.

and that's only marginally more confusing than what we the reader get, which is the fade out on Draco and Bowen in a tight embrace in the rain and then their return the next day with that makeover.
